Also less run-in period. For me run-in period is the worst thing when you buy new motorbike. I strictly follow run-in of the bike, once run-in over, first thing is to change the engine oil and open the throttle.Originally posted by Shubz View Post

Was reading certain automobile blog and came to know that company has not showcased KTM at auto expo which started from today, company's main stress is on RE60 and not a single two wheeler vehicle been showcased by bajaj. When i went to dealer they stated that demo vehicle will arrive at 15 january and deliveries will start from month end, lets hope company doesnt delayes its launch again....

I don't know if that's true...although what I think is that Bajaj better not even let that thought cross their heads!!! Otherwise the "Exclusivity" that KTM + Bajaj have been working so hard to Build for this...their most major motorbike release ever would get shot in the head twice...and I'm talking point blank!!!Originally posted by jonathan.pinto2008 View Postjust a random query
is it possible that bajaj put the ktm 200 engine in the re60??
i thought about this bcoz both are fuel injected, liquid cooled and 200cc
and also bajaj is going to put the ktm 200 engine in their 2012 pulsar
So to sum it up...No I don't anticipate that it's the same engine in that RE60.
But I do understand that with the 20bhp 200cc engine you may have thought it to be a detuned version of the KTM engine :-D Its just that puttin that into this car would probably require the engine itself to be redesigned to fit the car.
Although according to this link...
Bajaj RE60, Review, Price, Bajaj Cars India, Comparison, Images, Variants
its kerb weight is 400kgs and with 20bhp it still returns 35kmpl which is mighty impressive!!!
Point to be noted is that in the link they claim it to be a 4 Valve DTS-i engine??? could that also be the case with the new puslar range or have we already seen that the engine doesn't have a dual spark plug already?Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

The Duke 200 engine is a short stroke one (72mm x 49mm, bore x stroke).Originally posted by jonathan.pinto2008 View Postjust a random query

That makes it a high-revving engine which would usually produce peak power and torque at higher revs.
Hardly the characteristic of a people-mover/commercial passenger "four-wheeler".
They would typically require peak torque to be produced at much lower revs.I like 'em Naked
Blah Blah Blah!
Reason is not automatic. Those who choose not to recognise it, can't be conquered by it.

True! Else my quest for the Duke would've ended tonight and tomorrow I would've been at the Honda showroom for the CBR250R than at the airport to go to the Expo (I know Duke ain't displayed there)Originally posted by jonathan.pinto2008 View Post

Great review guys ....a lot of hard work there....this is the right bike to get for our road conditions IMHO and the fact that it wont be bad on the track will surely mean more fun...because its the roads where we spend most of our time and not the track ..... I do hope there is a 350 coming soon, somehow feel that the 350 is the right capacity to have.RX 100

But the showroom owner already told you the date why did he need to call you back to tell you when bookings will be open? I;ve only read it''ll start by 24th January and these dealers just make stuff up most of the time so you just keep coming back to them.Originally posted by ynike99 View Postgot solid info from vashi ktm outlet that the bike is gonna be launched on 20th jan
