Hey Guys, just found that a guy from PUNE got his duke on 21st Feb He has posted his experience with the bike on another forum. He has mentioned a lot of pointers like SERVICE DURATION etc

MODS PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHETHER I CAN SHARE THE LINK TO THAT POST, IT'S NOT A FULL BLOWN OWNERSHIP REVIEW AS HE HAS GOT THE BIKE JUST 5 DAYS BACK BUT ATLEAST ITS A START

Please understand that not everyone derive their thrill by watching first day first show .
(but Im one of those who enjoy first day first show though )

      feel free to share.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

        • 21) The petrol is 91 octane only. The Bajaj engineer has recommended to err on the side of safety on the highway and fill only premium fuels (Speed, Extra Premium, etc)

          22) Filling 5 liters into the tiny tank takes the display to FULL.

          23) Once there are no bars left in the main fuel indicator segment, the bike in an emergency can go another 25 kms on the 2 bars of the "empty" indicator segment.

          24) 2 bars left in the Main means about 6 liters remaining, one bar approximately 4 liters. That is when you start looking for a pump so as not to mess with you wet-type immersed fuel pump.
This is an excerpt from the above review link posted by Sunny_Kooran...
What is this thing about leaving 4 litres in the tank at all times??!? I read something similar a few pages back where someone quoted the Kmarg Showroom's Shekhar saying that We needed to have atleast 3 Litres in the bike at all times...Will this damage the Fuel Pump if not adhered to? that would mean We would be living with a 7Litre Tank instead of a 10Litre Tank!!!

Also can someone please shed some light on the octane rating of the fuel to be filled in the KTM 200 DUKE???
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

the octane rating of petrol to be used for the duke is 91 according to the KTM store guys in mangalore.. so that would mean speed, xtra-premium, etc etc..

                  • sorry if i did not answer your question properly... i'm guessing it's somewhere between 87-91. please confirm with another source though. I was told duke can be fed with that.

power is unleaded petrol with additives like friction-buster,it has octane rating of 91.

Perfect thank you for that definite answer!!! So to clear all doubts it is okay to put either the 91Octane or even just Regular 87 Octane petrol in the KTM 200 DUKE?

87 octane is no longer sold anywhere in India. All petrol in India is at least RON 91 as per the BS3 and BS4 specifications. (Assuming unadulterated normal unleaded petrol)
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Alright so you're telling me that whether I choose regular unleaded petrol or power the octane rstingbwill be the same 91 octane...but the only difference would be the additives in the power petrol versus no additives in the regular unleaded petrol...

87 octane is obsolete, pbk guys were saying 91 octane is perfect, try speed.

yeah bang on.but those additives are more helpful in case of fi engines.
