Welcome to the world of digital speedo consoles, you will never know even if the bike given to you is run for 1000km before giving it to you.. coz till the console is connected odo will not register any reading!! and best of luck to get your Duke in the manner you want it, may be you can offer to go to stock yard, inspect the bike there and ride it from there. That way you can avoid others touching your bike!!

Well as vrugonnab said, i guess that's the only way to ensure that no one rides it other than you. The Kmarg guys were pushing the bike inside the store using a ramp. But the Vashi guys were as good as doing stunts with the back wheel spinning as the door carpets were not removed, so that the bike can easily roll on the metal grilled entrance floor & the doorman was also not supporting the ramp so that it wont slip. Saw the ramp lifting & almost hitting the undercarriage/exhaust when the front wheel is about the offload, that is for the 3 bikes i saw before i left, 1 guy almost lost balance due to this :-s

Well I did ask if I could go to the stock yard which is 22kms away in Bhiwandi. And they said no, but I will not accept the bike if there is even any minor damage like light scratches etc. I will just tell them to replace the part under warranty if they can't allow me to go to pick it up myself but the showroom attendant Shekhar did assure me that the factory riders were tame riders and would get it to the showroom in one piece. I ddi see 2 bikes parked at the Kmarg showroom in the right extreme corner out of public view and when I checked the Odo it showed 18.3kms ridden and so that means they do not have the meter console disconnected while riding it from Bhiwandi KTM Stockyard to the Kmarg showroom. Anyway We shall see what happens, I have a very critical eye for minor imperfections and if I'm paying this much it better not have even a speck on it!!!

Even i spoke to Shekhar & 1 of the guys who brought in the Dukes (Ramesh i guess), they both had good knowledge about the bike. When i asked another attendant "Can i use regular Petrol or have to use 91 Octane" & the fellow had a BIG QUESTION MARK ON HIS FACE, But straightaway asked Shekhar to explain me everything

Saw Shekhar explain a guy about how the MFD works & how to go about using it. Did overhear an interesting comment from him though "Tank mein minimum 3ltr petrol hona hi chahiye", am not sure whether that it is absolutely compulsory to have 3lts of fuel always as the tank itself is only 10ltrs. Can anyone put more light on this, what if the fuel level goes below the minimum 3 ltrs ??
Was also informed that the bike is LOCKED at 7500rpm till the 1st service or something & the accessories will be available from March 2nd week max.

Liked the fact that if you have the side stand on, the bike will just shut on you as soon as you slot in 1st gear (I forget the side stand on @ times, so will atleast help me)

@joshzma225 - Check if you can just follow the caravan on your own bike, when the bikes are being brought from Bhiwandi Stockyard.

LOL, ignore. On the bright side, you should get your bike a lot quicker. Dont entertain the trolls.
And understand it, in no way, means anything. It could be that kolkatta folks are lot more conservative. Or they dont have disposable income like Mumbai/Bangalore/Chennai ( does not mean that kolkotta is poor, it just means that people value their money more). Maybe they are being smarter. Let the rest of the country get em first, go through all the niggles and issues, whatever they may be, and then get them.

Please understand that not everyone derive their thrill by watching first day first show .
(but Im one of those who enjoy first day first show though )

guys, is KTM200 already being used somewhere or is it fresh launch starting from india...planned to book one but decided to wait for sometime and may be a updated KTM200 in sometime... burnt my fingers in getting FZ16 in fresh launch..it has issues even yamaha can not resolve...
