I have drooled once again all over my keyboard....

Anyways, hope I get to ride one soon....

I guess, it is bcoz it crossed the 150cc mark, so it falls under 150cc-160cc slot, rounding it off to 160cc, to give a feel it is better than other 150ccs, also to differentiate in name against R15.. as the commuters would confuse even in name, as they are used to Splendor, Passion, Glamour, Pulsar, etc.. I expect to hear, - doosra/ naya wala R-15 ka kitna price/ mileage hai?

Regarding it's bulky tank, I recall my Uncle saying, he still prefers HH CD100SS, coz it has a tank to the seat level, and hence atleast 3 people can sit on it easily... lol.

BTW, awesome pictorials.... a lot different than earlier Impressions...

If we look around for the bikes of stunting bike enthusiasts... we'll find no or round head-lamps/ no fairings, fatter rear tyres, no chain-covers, so this is the perfect bike for bike-rapers! Already doesn't has those things, what earlier removed to be done after purchase... Just saree-guard work needs to be done though.

Thanks Yammy for bringing out a practically viable bike for daily use and for another strata of biking enthusiasts.

Yammy is just playing safe, by not attracting fierce competition by staying into 150ccs/ pre-17bhps, so that other makers don't get mad and bring out more competition, so it's Nawabi style - Pehle aap...

The thing that makes me scare, are the people who find these bikes out-of-the-planet and gaze from up/ from down, sit on it for a photo-session, (what I saw people doing on a parked R-15). What people do to my poor Uni in parking lots at times (pressing all buttons, pulling choke, fiddling with throttle stop screw-RPM thingy), makes me shiver to just imagine, if I owned a super-bike and parked it somewhere, they're like superstars (R-15 = SRK, R-1 = Bradd Pitt), so I would require to call for RAF, to get rid of the mob. It feels great to have gazing eyes when you are on it, but when you aren't around, it makes you scare... just like having an extremely beautiful wife.

I think, I'd save the bucks for a 250cc/ atleast 30bhps.. Indian hopes, you see.

          Hi

These Yamaha people are not giving any test ride. I wonder why a company like like Yamaha would do that . Test rides would only help sell the product

You sure they are not allowing?

            Damn these "less-margined pricing".....

congrats on getting xbhp together. i couldn't seem to find my id as Midas so i just re registered. Your Photography is out of this world. Kudos.

I remember what HH sleek did to college kids. no fuss great looks. plus it should have the grunt to complement the bulky looks. you dont always need the PS or bhp figure to feel good in city. even those yezdi's roadking etc. felt great.

Someday we will own a (true)Yamaha.
Even If your eaten alive, you still got two ways out !! Never Give up.

Awsome looks and good build quality but an underpower bike ...the same R15 specs would have done good..
even the technology used is not so appreciating for a new bike from yamaha,,, but one thing the pricing will be affordable..

yestarday I had been to some shopping near Forum Kormangala, happened to see a large crowd near the Yamaha Showroom (Orion Motors). Just out of curiosity I told my wife to go ahead with her shopping next to the Yam showroom and I would be back in a few mins. Rushed to the showroom, a couple of guys were seeing a Red FZ16. The bike looks huge, lemme list down a few pros & cons

                                PROS :-
                                1) Huge road presence, people will ignore even the P220, when this one is standing next to it.
                                2) Engine looks big, loved the looks of the engine. There are so many fins on the engine love the way they have been designed.
                                3) Front forks are massive.
                                4) Tyres look really good.

                                CONS :-
                                1) Lot of plastic is used.
                                2) The instrument cluster is the worst that I have seen on a 150 CC, very small and looks kiddish to me at least.
                                3) The rear seat is a joke. Strictly speaking this bike should be classified as a single seater bike. I am sure even a lean female wont like it.
                                4) The tail light. Very cheap. Yamaha could have at least put the two screws below the tail light, they are clearly visible and make it look cheap. This is how Bajaj and HH used to fit the tail lights probably a decade back.

                                5) Though I did not ride the bike. It would have been gr8 if Yam had given it atleast 15 horses. 14 is too less.

Thats it. Bangy guys can visit Orion Motors to have a glimpse of the bike.
