Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

For the first time in my life I was training a guy to hone his motorcycle riding skills. He was a newbie. Under my preaching he was driving good, and within two days he was taking off and shifting nice enough.
Here goes the third day ............ It was a regular pleasant morning weather. He was going good while I maintained to walk around pointing out his errors and asking him a few drills. Then he came to me and said "Aao ghuma lau tumhe" (let me give you a lift) ........... I said with delight "ok ". Then slightly before a corner, being a sensible preacher, I preached him to honk first and brake before making the turn ............. and he asks me to locate the horn .......... I said it is there on the left handlebar ........ now this newbie was pressing the ignition switch and there I observed that we were on the corner ............. I screamed "brakes" !!

skidzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................. we were lying flat on the road ................... and our elbow + knee were served the scratches and injuries

so what happened was this newbie pulled up accelerator instead of break in panic and we tasted the surface......... while my baby Honda had a few minor scratch and bend.
Reminds me of a similar incident some years ago where I was teaching a 'geared bike' to one of my 'gearless' friends. I took him to an empty highway (sunday afternoon) and all went smooth for sometime. Within 10 minutes of the lesson he was at 80 in 5th gear with me as pillion.

After covering some 30 kms on the empty highway, I got the shock of my life when my friend announced drily "brakes are not working"!! I immediately told him to let go of the throttle, downshift and use engine braking to slow down to a safe speed. He did two smooth downshifts from 5th to 3rd but the shift from 3rd to 2nd was rather jerky. I asked him to release the clutch more gently, to which, he replies "where is the clutch supposed to be?"!!!!

I was like WTF! till I realized that he was sqeezing the clutch in an attempt to use the rear brakes and slow the bike down! No wonder the "brakes" didnt work!

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Rainy day ... came back home after 1st ride in rain . ( feeling like a boss ) park my bike . near my home [ ground floor ] mom and dad watching and asking how it felt riding from the window . asking me to be careful bla bla .. I say " Its easy ! don't worry " With the helmet on i get off dropping the bike on the left side . ( God bless the leg guard and the inventor ) - I Scream out cause Im embarassed .. Watchman comes to help . Helps me pick it up . He smiles I smile . Good day

                2) Fuel turned off .. Ah..

                3) This one happened with my friend . on a scooter so sharing it - Going for a movie . He's on a scooty . helmets in his scooter trunk . The theatre is 2 mins from college . We reach the theatre - movie sold out .. other theatre also close by . we decide to go there . He's on the bike with another friend/ pillion . On one signal before the right - leading to the theatre * Traffic Police spotted . Friend asks the pillion to get down so that he could try a quick U-turn . ( Helmet was out of reach ) As soon as he tries to turn . Theres the cop sitting on the bike behind him . * Sounds Very unlikely . i Know we were surprised too. - 400 rupee ka phatka ( fine ) for not wearing a helmet . :3 cop tears a chalaan worth 100 puts the other 300 in his pocket :O

Now that is really really scary

isn't it possible to stop the bike by just turning off the ignition and giving acceleration without holding the clutch?? it does work too, right??

                  ==

Reminds me of my first attempt to ride a geared bike.. i learnt riding the Bajaj M80... actually.. I never learnt.. have seen the way people ride..

so this is how it went..

this was a neighbors bike back in Madurai when I was there for my vacations after completing 7th std from New York..

it was in the night.. my neighbor came.. i asked him for the keys.. he gave it to me.. he asked whether i knew to ride.. i confidently said yup.. i inserted the key on the side and turned the ignition on.. I kicked the bike and heard the engine roar.. that was my first time kicking a geared bike.. i only knew to ride a TVS Champ so after I started the bike.. i held the clutch.. shifted to 1st gear and left the clutch without giving acceleration thinking the bike will move.. it jerked and stopped.. then I kick started again and did the same thing.. the bike jerked and stopped..

me being smart@$$ thought for a minute.. Running in my Mind "so i left the clutch and bike jerks and stops.. this is because I am not giving acceleration. let me try and give acceleration"

so i kicked the bike again and this time did what was running in my mind.. give acceleration along with releasing the clutch.. so I did.. eventually I didn't give proper acceleration.. so bike jerked and stopped again..

again.. my mind thinking "lets give more acceleration this time"

and I did.. kicked the bike to start.. held the clutch.. switched to 1st gear.. gave plenty of acceleration and left the gear.. boooom.. the front tire lifted and there was an autorickshaw standing in the front.. i hit into it and fell down..

my family members were inside playing cards and as soon as they heard the sound.. they came running out to my rescue..

since then.. i decided never to ride a geared bike... 2yrs after that incident.. i returned to India.. my dad was asking me which bike I want.. and i kept saying I want TVS Champ and only TVS Champ.. my bro and dad were like go for Splendor.. its a nice bike.. i was like.. when they asked why.. in the side.. that incident was in my mind.. but never let it out

told them "in case fuel runs out or if the bike isn't starting.. I can pedal and bring the bike home" my bro was Laughing His Ass Out at me

My bro decided to teach me to ride the geared bike and thats when I learnt properly My first experience was the best

Another incident.. rather an accident which I can never forget..

me and my friend (girl) we went to MV book bank near Porur Junction after college hours to get the books for that semester just before the semester exams.. this was in 2nd Semester (April 2006) after getting the books (a lot of books) her bag and my bag were full and she was holding few in her lap sitting behind me.. it was quite late for her so I was riding at 75kmph (a modified splendor with Free Flow Exhaust and KnN filter) there were these share autos slowing down and piled up on the left just opposite to Chennai Trade Center.. i was wondering why and i slowed down a bit reducing the speed to 60kmph.. and out of no where a yamaha came from a small street and it was just a matter of seconds.. i crashed into him and my friend just went above me and hit the ground flying.. the front of my bike hit that guys middle (side panel) I fell down.. couldn't think about what to do.. I picked her up and put her in an auto, took her bag and mine along with the books and rushed her to the hospital.. when I turned back.. my bike was on the middle of the road and saw that guy running away with his bike..

well that wasn't important for me.. my friend was bleeding and i took her to the St. Thomas Mount Hospital near Butt Road and they had to stitch her chin and her lips.. and guess what.. i didn't have any money.. called up my friend and asked her to bring some money.. paid for all this.. meanwhile I asked the friend who arrived to call up her house and inform about the accident.. took my friend in an auto and dropped her home and returned back in a bus.. after I got into the bus only i noticed my knee was bleeding and my shirt had blood stains of my friend..

I reached Chennai Trade Center and saw my bike standing on the side with the key in it.. I was too weak but hell what to do.. i dragged it out of the side stand and tried to move the bike only after which I noticed that the fork was completely bent and the mud guard was not allowing the fork to turn.. so one guy helped me break the mud guard and i rode back home slowly.. One of the worst things which I can never forget..

My friend had a broken jaw which was operated and it took almost 5 months for her to recover.. my knee was luckily not fractured.. but hell lot of blood loss..

I had to take my Kinetic Honda to college for a week till I got my bike ready.. after which I sold her off and got the Pulsar 180..

                          1) this happend to me in my starting years of riding a two wheeler.. i and my uncle went to a shop.My uncle parked his scooty infront of the sho and went inside.i was waiting outside for him to come out..in the meanwhile the "mentally ill" bug in me started biting and my hands were itching to start the scooty and go for a small ride..so i started the scooty with accelerator fully raced..the scooty started with a single crank and it hit a scooter parked infront of it with a full force..(my fate is such that even the scooter ignition was turned on and the owner went to buy cigarettes) ..both the vehicles were riding without riders for some distance before falling.. and my uncle was like (because he couldnt find his parked scooty as it was lying 20feet from the place he parked ...

                          2) i got my cousin's cbz and went to pick up my friend..while coming he wanted to ride the bike and i gave him to ride and was sitting pillion..he put on the first gear and was riding..after some distance the bike was revving and was behaving like its about to burst..i asked him to change the gear and he was fighting to reach the gear rod and stopped the bike and started scolding me..i asked the reason for his shouting..he said that i was fooling him by giving him 1-gear bike and asking him to shift to second gear... and this time i was like ...then after thorough research i cam to know the reason for his shouting..the reason is cbz has only toe shift gear lever unlike other bikes ..

happy laughs my dear riding brothers

I was new to my office and we were going for a team lunch.. one of my colleague who wanted to ride my bike.. (he has a Shine)

so I gave him my bike and I was sitting as a pillion.. we were the first to leave from our office which was in Sector 58 and we had to go to Shopprix mall in Sec 61 Noida.. my other friends just went past us and my colleague was like saying the bike sucks.. it doesn't even go beyond 34 kmph in first gear.. i was abusing his saying shift the gear shift the gear.. this idiot kept looking at the gear lever and trying to shift the gear without looking at the road.. finally we reached the Shopprix mall.. he was riding the bike for 2 kms in 1st gear.. heights of stupidity and he said your bike sucks (ZMR) and I was like my friends were laughing at me..

so I gave him my bike and I was sitting as a pillion.. we were the first to leave from our office which was in Sector 58 and we had to go to Shopprix mall in Sec 61 Noida.. my other friends just went past us and my colleague was like saying the bike sucks.. it doesn't even go beyond 34 kmph in first gear.. i was abusing his saying shift the gear shift the gear.. this idiot kept looking at the gear lever and trying to shift the gear without looking at the road.. finally we reached the Shopprix mall.. he was riding the bike for 2 kms in 1st gear.. heights of stupidity and he said your bike sucks (ZMR) and I was like my friends were laughing at me..
                              haha..epic moment ..

my friends who had ug4 180s always used to wash their bike in a small canal..one day they were washing the bike and suddenly realised that they've forgot shampoo and asked other friend who didnt had much knowledge of biking to go to a shop and bring shampoo...he went and came back after 20minutes..when they poured water on the engine, due to heavy temperature the water was evaporating as soon as its touching the engine..my friend asked the one who had brought the shampoo whether he had gone for any racing because the engine was too hot...he told that he never went into any racing and told that he had gone only in first gear to the shop (p.s. the shop was 3kms from the place they were washing the bike..so a total of 6 kms on first gear)

Since that day.. i decided never to hand over my bike to anyone who rides a bike which is less than 150cc

I don't give my bike to anyone other than 2 people now

which reminds me of an incident that happened during a bike ride to Cona falls in Chennai..

my friend Jagen who is a new bee purchased a P180.. 2010 model..

that is his first bike and he wanted to go for a ride.. so when I went to Chennai.. I planned for a short ride to kona falls which is some 100 kms from chennai..

my best friend Sandeep who knows to ride bike was his pillion.. so we were all going at speeds of 80 kmph and my other friends who were on Ninja, Karizmas, a ZMR, FZ and RTR 160 went ahead at faster pace.. since Jagen is a new bee.. i kept pace along with him.. what happened was.. my friends on the ZMR went over a speed breaker at a high speed and the pillion mobile fell off and the Ninja crushed it from behind.. everyone else had stopped finding each and every part of that mobile.. thats when me (on a P150 2004) and Jagen reached..

I slowed down by the speed breaker and Jagen didn't apply brakes. he just kept going at 80 and there was a curve and trust me.. I freaked out for a minute.. i thought both my friends were gonna crash.. somehow Jagen managed to control and take the curve.. so after that incident.. i asked him not to ride the bike on highways till he has enough confidence and i didn't wanna lose my friends.. so I made Sandeep ride the bike there after.. on the return i didn't want Jagen to feel bad so i guided him and he did well after that..

                                A pic of that idiot...
