isn't it possible to stop the bike by just turning off the ignition and giving acceleration without holding the clutch?? it does work too, right??
"Why can't he turn that effing ignition off?" - I keep thinking the same thing when I watch those stupid movies where it's shown that the brakes of the hero's car/bike have failed and he does all sorts of crowd-whistling, GTA-style stunts for a full fifteen minutes before he crashes into some soft-target and comes to a halt.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Yeah.. exactly.. there are so many ways to stop the vehicle.. slowly applying hand brakes.. using gears to apply brakes.. turning the ignition off and giving acceleration.. at max.. stop giving acceleration.. the vehicle is definitely gonna stop..

Okey.. I have been reading and following this, so here comes one from my memory lane.

From back in the days when I had an Atlas cycle, we had mud roads in our place and had a nice T junction. From our house we had a huge incline where it would go and touch the main road(mud road too). Me and my wingman friend used to try and impress couple f gals. I used to pedal hard and as I reached the main road would jam the rear brake of my cycle to do a power slide and get on the main road. I had kindd of mastered it. .

Dad had just got a Kinetick K4 and one fine day he took public transport to office. Time to show off in front of gals eh.. Gunned the throttle with my wingman manning the T junction, signalling the arrival of birds .

Did a perfect power slide, but instead of accelerating on reaching the main road, I was looking for the pedals to move ahead. :banghead: .. Then all I remember is doing a slide, bike hitting the stone marking end of the road, me flying.. Yeah I can fly.. :sly: and me lying on the other side of barbed fence in slushy mud.

Everyone was laughing so hard.. my friend was literally on the road doing a ROTFL. :banghead:

Well this happened to me lately..
I was going to a shop riding my bike. There was a railway crossing in front of me and the gates were closed. Generally i put my right leg on the ground and left leg on the gears. I was waiting for the gates to open. When the gates were opened, i was riding behind a car. Halfway from the stop, the car suddenly stopped. To make balance, i had to get my left leg on ground.. But to my surprise, there was no land. pitch was dug beside the road and i hadn't noticed it.. I got unbalanced and tipped on left, with bike on me.. That is not a problem.

But Unfortunately the crossing was beside a university, and hundred of students (you know who) had spotted me.

ROFL! Girls, these humble beings are the one of the reasons for the biggest crashes! Sorry for the reply, but I just couldn't resist myself from posting.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Would like to share my experience. My car shows real time fuel economy. Normally it hovers between 9-10 in city. One day I filled up at a different fuel station. And could see number rising to 12, 13, 14, 15....I was super happy that my mileage was improving. Picked up the phone and called my friend to inform him, while I was talking, the number increased to 18. I was like super happy and felt like dancing, then all of a sudden I realised I was looking at the trip meter, which I had reset while filling up. Bubble was burst, and I crash landed...

Well This one is from me,
One fine day I was riding my Avy 220 with my mother on pillion. I was going to drop her at my aunt's place. While going on the street I see a very cute girl. Without knowing my head transfromed in to table fan. After that My mother said ' Chal geli ti aata'(See straight, she's gone now) I was like WTF!!! and feel very embarrased that time but after dropping my mother at aunt's place I was like LOL...
Second one (Reason is same 'The Girl')
In my college days like 2-3 years ago I used to ride Honda Activa. After my college I was returning home. On the way there is another college K.V. Pendharkar College. I was riding at slow pace like 10-15 kmph. Admiring the creations of god under my Helmet. Suddenly I see one girl with short skirt, 2-3 years ago In Dombivli that was rare. I was looking at her suddeenly heard the sound 'thud'. When I look ahead I noticed I was colided with stoped K.D.M.C. (public transport bus) I did't crashed nor any damage to Bus or Activa, thanks to my super low speed. Driver of the bus was laughing and gestures me that move out of the way.. Every one was laughing including that girl.. Thank god I was wearing tinted helmet, I fleed from the spot..

Every morning after parking my bike in office I have to walk almost a kilometer to reach my building. On the way to the building from parking there are two right turns ,while taking the turns I often end up searching for my rear view mirror.

                        Dear Riders,

I would like to share a story of mine with you all. It was a chilly evening in the moth of October. I was returning from tuition in my dad's LML Vespa. I was just nearing my home saw few of my friends have gathered near a shop as we had a plan to join one of our friends birthday party. I stooped there to have a chat with them and took out my helmet. It was just like maximum 100meteres from my home. I had a chat with them and told them that I will go home park the scooter and come back in my cycle. I was in class 12then, that was my final year. After I finished talking to them , I started moving towards my home. I didn't put my helmet back as I was max 100m away from home. My headlight probably had a lose connection and was going on n off. I was taking a turn in a rotary , street light was also not working. All of a sudden I realized that before me was a bi-cycle. I almost stood up on the rear brake, that was actually a panic braking. But that didn't stop hitting me that cycle. Vespa those who ridden will know has a tendency to turn 180degree when you brake(rear) it hard. Since scooter has its engine on one side , when you fall from scooter your head tends to hit first. BANG I was hit. Scooter merely got any damage. But I had a severe injury, double hemorrhage. After staying in ICU for more than 1 month I somehow survived. That was a lesson of my life , the time I get into two wheeler first thing I do is put the Helmet on. Doesn't matter how close or short distance I will go. It took me almost two years to recover completely from that incident and in the process lost two years in my school finals. before and after that there are several other incidents, but this was the lesson of my life. Never ever to forget. Well that didn't stop the BIKER inside me and I still love biking and travel regularly almost 100kms in my Pulsar. Later I came to know a kid was in that bi-cycle and he was coming in wrong side. Though I didn't but he noticed me and out of fear he jumped off the cycle. Hero cycles have a tendency to go straight for a bit even if you are not controlling it. result of the collision was the front rod of that cycle was bent like the last moon.

After riding the Yamaha r15 2.0 for the whole day, I had to ride my uncle's splendor to his house since he decided to drive home by his car. Initially I rode well and i stopped at an intersection for the signal to turn green, the bike was now at the neutral and after getting the green light I placed my left foot at the pillion's peg and I started to search for the gear lever and WTF..!!! the gear lever has gone!!!
The traffic started to move and a bus driver behind yelled at me to get the bike off his way... This happened for few seconds and then I realized that I'm actually on a splendor and not on the R15 then I placed my foot at the rider's peg shifted into 1st gear and went off..

                                Some of my biking bloopers:

                                1. This happened when I was in junior college. One of my friends had a bajaj spirit moped. I took the keys, started it and rode away for some quick work. I returned after sometime to the same place where it was parked. But guess what, his bajaj spirit was already parked there!! I was like WTF am i riding then?? I literally jumped off the bike to see the number plate and was shocked to see that it was someone else's moped I had been riding!! Stealthily parked it where it was and ran away from there

                                2. My cousin brother had bought a pre-owned bullet and got it to our place to show it off. Eager to ride, I got on the bike and rode away. A little while later, a group of cyclists came in front of me on the road and i slammed the "rear brake lever" to slow the bull down. But surprise surprise! It was the gear shift lever and I went ahead ramming all those poor cyclists! Fortunately no one was hurt. It was only after a lot of apologies that I was able to get out of there, embarrassed. My bad i never thought an old bullet has the rear brake lever on the left and the gear lever on the right.
The way you ride is the way you are..
