Apparently, the 'bumpers' used on iphones are actually referred as crash guards by the local folk!

Installed a new fuel lock on my new bike(RE TBTS 350) and went for long tour solo(4 days Bangalore --> Rameshwaram --> Pondi --> Bangalore) after a week.
I was cruising on the highway and suddenly in middle of the highway(Salem) the bike stopped I thought now bike is in reserve turned the key to put it in reserve and tried to start the bike eleci + kicks for like 50 times but it won't start. On inspecting the petrol tank I can see some petrol; then removed the fuel pipe and checked is there any fuel flow in ON or RES mode but in both modes no fuel flow was there and then I thought that Bloody fuel lock reserve was not working. Luckily there was a petrol pump just opposite to the road where I was stranded(my best luck so far as I do not have to push my bike on that beautiful highway), I just emptied my water bottle walked into that petrol pump and came back to my bike drained that bottle into the tank checked if reserve is working, still it's not, then rode my bike to fill the petrol.
After completing the tour I came back and cursed that fellow that reserve is not working you should have checked it and then installed and to my surprise he said sir you are just rotating the key in wrong direction. SHIT!!! WTF.!! I said but I can see the petrol in the tank then he said it's dead stock petrol not usable. Felt very embarrassed after a very long time.
So the actual problem was when I was rotating the key towards ON(from 6PM to 9PM as the arrow indicator showed) in clock wise direction actually it was going to RES(12PM to 3PM). and all the way before the incident I was thinking why it has not come to reserve till now maybe my bike mileage is increased.

I once parked my bike on double stand, without noticing that the soil in the area was wet. After doing my work, I returned to find my shining new bike lying on its side. Apparently the soil on one side was wet enough that the stand began sinking imploring the bike to lay on its side. Was literally driven to tears, the first fall and the engine was not even running.

        • The scene was a traffic signal. I cranked up the bike when there were 10 seconds to go green. Everyone, as usual started rushing before the green but I was waiting for it patiently, wanting to show them who's the boss by launching my bike at a high tilt and getting ahead of everyone. The people behind had already started honking frantically.
3..2..1 and green, revs held at 5000 rpm and I let the clutch go....only to find out nothing happening. Lol. At this time, the traffic behind went berserk with a symphony of honks. The bike was in neutral, stupid! Lost a bit of balance here and there, managed to somehow slot her in gear quickly to ride away. I could see a guy on Platina gesturing away in my RVM.

So this is a very funny story:

My dad wanted to draw money from the ATM at his native place and so he decided to take his brothers TVS victor. He was riding his brothers bike the first time....Well he drew his money and returned. Btw we were waiting for him so that we could drive back to Bangalore. He parked the bike in my uncles house and my cousin notices that this bike he came in was another Tvs victor of the same colour. We were all laughing at what had happened and my uncle is now worried about his actual bike.... So my uncle and dad go back to the Atm and find my uncles bike there and the owner of the bike my dad took.... Then they explained what happenned and the owner of the bike my dad took kept cursing his bike and said " my bike i treated like wife and this wife happens to just go with anyone" He was shocked to notice that my uncles key was a perfect match to his bike

TVS Victors do have this problem inherently, it seems. I have had a similar incident 3 years ago.

Damn, Had experienced exactly the same incident 3 year back on a friend's Blue Passion Pro. There are a hell lot of Passions in blue in my area and almost all can be opened with each other's key.
I was actually embarrassed when I realized it(The actual owner started shouting at me after I started the bike and was just about to flee). When we realised what happened, everyone was laughing, except me(ya, I was still embarrassed). From then, I always take a note of the bike's no first, if I burrow from someone.

I am having a Black & Green CBR 150R, When i went to my friends house on my bike, i was waiting for him near his house' entrance. there were 3-4 kids (aged ~ 9) playing on the road came near me and they were so excited on seeing my bike and started few questions. One kid asked if this is midship (referring to FZ). I said no... The funny part is - a kid on seeing the name 'CBR' on the fairing which has a flaming font, asked - " Anna unga bike paer car'ana' (Means - Is your bike name CAR ? ) . He misread CBR as CAR.. I said, no its CBR

this happened when i had newly bought my first bike TVS Victor glx 125cc. it was vacation after my diploma exams and it was rainy. i used to attend computer classes and there were 2 girls that i liked and wanted to impress. (till then i used to walk to and fro to classes) Their way home was partially same as mine.

so this day when i got my bike to class for the first time, i thought i'll zoom past them just to catch their attention.

so there i was, it was a rainy day, i was waiting for class to get over. and when it did i went to parking, got my bike, started it, and i had fairly judged which part or the road they will be at, by the time which had past so far (after they exited the class)...everything set, i rode in their direction, i got them in my sight, i revved up! and zoomed past them as plan!!...and thats when my plan backfired and badly

IT WAS A RAINY DAY ! (and i didn't factor that aspect) there was a puddle of water, i passed through it, and i ended up splashing it all on them, AT FULL MAGNITUDE!

i wanted to catch their attention, and i did!!! for all the wrong reasons!!

After going through this topic i can't help but share some of my bloops too :

                      1. My friends and I are offroading enthusiasts. So on one of our initial offroad rides, my 2nd OTR, i was trying to catch up with my friend on his Impulse. My RTR was shod with on road tyres then. We were both revving the bolts off our bikes when we came to a left turn, with sheer lack of experience :banghead: i took the turn as i would on the road. The next thing i realised was my helmet grinding the dirt for about 5-6metres before i landed in some bushes. And it was then that i realised the agonising pain between my legs! I had hit my jewels so hard i couldn't even stand up! Hahahaa.. a friend who was trailing us rushed up to me and asked me where i got hurt; when i pointed where; he said,"Ehh how can i help you there, man?!!!"

                      2. As we often go offroading, most of the bike's parts keep falling off on their own. We had taken off most of the panels and kept our bikes as naked and light as possible but i left my side covers on. Halfway through one ride though, the left side cover came off so i kept it in my bag and continued. A strange phenomena happened with the bike that particular day. We usually stand on the pegs whenever we come across rough terrains or over speedbreakers and enjoy the little bit of air time we get with every bump we go through. But on this day, whenever i stood on the bike, it would choke and almost stall. Tried checking the filter n everything but they were all fine. The phenomenon carried on the whole ride! Since i had fitted a nnew aftermarket headlamp, i thought maybe there was some loose connection or short circuit somewhere. I rode the bike home in thst condition and took it to the mech the next day. He checked the bike but said everything was fine :what: He asked me to ride n check the bike again, which i did but still the problem persisted. By this time, a number of customers had come to the workshop n were discussing about this unique problem. The mech checked the wiring again and told me to test it again. So i went and this time i stood on the pegs when i rode past him and told him - see this is what happens! He was laughing at me this time n told me to go past him and stand on the pegs again. I did and he was laughing like a goat! :banghead: i stopped the bike and asked him what he was laughing at. He replied - its so simple but we are complicating it! Whenever u stand on the pegs, ur leg blocks the air filter because the side cover is not there! i felt like i had just been punk'd! Hahahaaa felt so dumb that day! I gave him the money, quietly rode away and after some distance couldn't help my laugh my helmet off at my myself for my lack of sheer common sense!!! :banghead:

To ride is to live a little bit more, to experience life a little more different, to meet new friends,
see places, find our inner peace and strength; to grow, to absorb nature, to reflect back. To ride is to have lived. Ride on.

I had taken my friends classic 350 for a day in exchange he had taken my Fazer . I rode his classic 350 to office and during lunch hours took the 350 to a restaurant nearby. After lunch I sat on another bullet absent mindedly and I was trying hard to change the gear to neutral and start the bike but it was not changing at all , then I see its not my friends RE and has its gear shifting levrs the other side . Looked around luckily no one was watching me [emoji14]

Maybe you should turn the ignition ON first next time. [emoji1]

I never knew such thread exist. So here's my story
It happend last year,I was out on my bike to pay the telephone bill(3km from my place),I pay the bill and while returning home the bike stops at a signal,I press the electric starter the bike does not start and worst in such situation my bike does not have a kick start with no option left I push the bike I try to start the bike on the second gear but it just won't start. Finally had to push the bike towards the petrol pump 600-700 meters fill up petrol and then again try to start but it doesn't. A car driver then points out that your bikes fuel tap is in closed position and I looked like a fool.
