      • Embarrassing moments while riding

Hey guys, just wanted to know from you all, what embarrassing moments you have faced while riding your bike.

One instance for me was when I tried to corner in my office parking , I almost slipped on the concrete surface and it was noticed by few people who were waiting to take the lift from thr parking to their respective floors. I felt so awkward, luckily I was wearing a helmet to prevent my identity .

I was stuck in a signal once for a long time and was pissed off as it didn't change to green for a long time. There was an aunty standing next to me riding a tvs scooty, I was on my 600, the moment it turned green, I whacked open the throttle and was stuck again in thr next signal. This lady came and stood right next to me after a good 45 seconds. I was like WTF just happened.

When I was in Chennai, I used to reach my office in Siruseri through ECR + OMR (from Sholinganallur junction). I had only recently bought my first riding jacket and hence I was going to office in full Dhoom ishtyle. I barely missed the signal at sholinganallur junction (turned red from green without a yellow) and therefore I had to brake hard to come to a stop. There was a share auto from which 2 girls were getting down. They saw me screech to a stop, looked at me from top to bottom and got back in to the rick.

I wonder if I looked like a thug that day.

So I was at the SVC last Saturday.. the 5th of March 2016.. I got my bike serviced.. everything went well.. They got the bike water-washed.. everything went well so far.. while waiting for them to polish my bike (I was already late.. My wife waiting for me to come home and take her out shopping) and I was in a hurry.. there was another ZMR who got his bike washed after mine and they started polishing his bike and not mine.. I was frustrated.. I started my bike to leave without getting the polish done (as I was in a hurry) and I handed the gate pass.. the next thing, my bike stops.. I tried starting it, didn't start.. Everyone looked at me.. I was really embarrassed.. I checked for Fuel.. I fired the self start and there was misfiring.. got them to dry the spark plug and then the bike fired.. damn

Back in 2011 when I bought my ZMR and I was 53kgs by then (1/3 of the bikes weight). Early morning by 5.45am I started from home as I had a cricket match. I've to take right (50mts) from my street to join the highway. There used to be a dust bin at the corner(from the day I've been there) . The Corporation people had shifted the bin to the left side and have spilled Sand on the right so that place doesn't look dirty. Like everyday I came and took a right at less than 20kms only for my bike to skid and I was holding it without touching the ground (it was near my knees, between my legs) but sadly I couldn't lift it up. And there came a girl who lifted the bike with me and went without any reaction.
                  But my reaction

                    1. I got a call at 11 PM from my friend to take his bike and pick him from the bus stand . Got his bike key from the shelf. I have pushed the bike from parking are to the road without starting, because I don't want to disturb our house owner who is sleeping in the next room. So that even I didn't switched on the light at the parking area. I was shocked by seeing the bike outside get where street light was available!. Instead of taking his TVS Star Sports I have taken a Honda shine of our neighbor. For my surprise I was able to turn the ignition on with that key!!!.

                    2. My friended was learning bike riding at night 12'O clock on his week off day. Since doing night shift he was used to sleep in the day time and finding time in the night to learn riding. And I was watching TV. After half an hour I have received a call from an unknown number and saying, " We have caught a thief here claiming he is your friend, please come here". When I reach the place I have seen my friend there with shivering and afraid face. He told me that his mobile got fell down from his shirts pocket while passing a huge bump without slowing down the speed. He was searching for it in the non-lighted area. So the near by people found and caught him by suspecting as a thief...

I was on a late night ride with some friends on their bikes and mine was fairly new and i didn't yet get hold of some features ( like the engine doesn't start when side stand is down, even if it's slightly) we take a halt at around 1 am and while leaving i take my stand up but it's still not fully up, and there's error on the display ( which i didn't see for 5 minutes ), and i try to start up but it doesn't, I wait a few seconds and try again but no response, and i try again and again while my friends laugh at me for my bad luck. After 5 minutes of trying to get it on a friend spots the error on screen and i push the stand fully and the bike starts in one go, never felt so dumb in my entire life.

It was time to get dinner as I was in no mood to walk, I decided to take my baby out(brand new CBR250R). Took off the cover, started her(some girls of my colony were watching ) and rode towards 2nd cross Lane(my area has 3 exit lanes) some uncles were standing there, they were calling me "hello shhh" I ignored them, rode ahead to see that the exit was blocked the lanes are soo small I couldn't even turn back my bike:banghead: managed to turn it back, didn't see anyone's face n just rode off.

After giving back my borrowed bike, my friend had complained that engine kill switch is not working.. And it was my old bike Bajaj Discover 100 CC with ride control switch.

                            Hi guys,

I recently learned to ride bikes and am going to buy my first bike in a month.

It happened 2 years back. I reluctantly took my friends bike TVS Victor to office on Saturday. I was not that comfortable in riding the geared one.

I somehow reached office (3 km) but was stopped by security for ID card. I switched off the engine and was searching for my ID card.

After showing the ID card, i started kicking the bike. After some 10 kicks, the security helped me in starting it and was kicking it. After 3 kicks, he said, "saar, first switch on the vehicle".

                            I was like :|...

                            One of my many.

                              Here goes my story!

I was riding along with my friend on a bike we've borrowed from another friend. We were in a hurry, so we forgot to ask for the papers, which we've realized after some time. Since we've already started, we decided not to go back. We reached a busy intersection and the signal was red. Since I was busy looking at the signal and the road was busy, I did not notice that police were checking two wheelers. I saw them at the last minute and immediately turned towards the right (I was riding on the left egde since it would be easy to cut through traffic) and stuck to the right most lane just beside the divider. I had to stop at the signal and was praying literally that police should not notice me and then the inevitable happened. A common friend of us happened to see us from behind and he has decided to give us a little surprise. He jumped onto the bike from behind joyfully shouting "I'm here" (in my native language) and a constable noticed me! He came running and pulled the keys and asked me to pull my bike aside! What happened next is anyones guess

And the third friend who decided to surprise us was our guardian angel. He "paid" the cops
