Thing is, these horns are the one used in 10wheelers truck, and due to large battery of Ns, they sound in full Glory. And 99.9% people mistook my bike as an blindly incoming truck. You don't wanna play with trucks.

Your intentions might be good to bring the day-dreamers on the road back to reality! Having said that, using such a loud horn is not etiquette on the road and definitely not good manners. Especially when there are bad as well as good road users, such a loud horn could actually act as a great irritant (it actually does) overall. Also, it's not an intelligent move to "surprise" any road user by blowing his pants off!! You never know that this might unbalance a two wheeled rider and result in an accident..because of you!

See..the point is, if you are so inclined to alert the not-so-alert road users, then you might actually go and politely ask them to be or in a more convenient manner gesture them in a polite manner. But blowing a loud horn, irrespective of your intentions, is never a good thing to do. And isn't honking universally despised?

I understand buddy that sometimes such idiots really push you. And it is very tempting for us to give them a dose of their own medicine. But it is equally important not to get carried away by this temptation and break all hell loose on other users of the road. We don't want someone to brand us also as an idiot right?

If you intend to continue with your horns, use them judiciously. Don't let your anger overrule you into using them to scare the crap out of people You never know when this may backfire and you would get a panicked pedestrian hitting you!

Drive safe and avoid the idiots

I agree with all of YoUR above concerns and believe me, in 1hr riding, the use of horn is hardly for 30sec on an avg. Horns are used only when in streets people walk like they're walking after some victory over third world or when special idiots consistently try to be in middle. Rest I know about noise pollution and GOI horn guidelines but I changed my horn only when I had an major accident spending 4k and 1 month abnormally just because the stock horns of 200ns were "very loud".
And talking about rules, I would like to ask about all xbhp members who do touring or daily commute in city and ""strictly follow"" th speed limits and never do top speed test just because max speed limits by RTO aren't equal to the speed their bike can attain.
For me, if I'm able to follow all those traffic rules which are seriously made for my and my Indian brothers and sisters safety and not doing rash/drunken etc riding\driving,it is good.

Recently I was riding with my friend (I was the pillion) and the bike was at 30kmpl, suddenly three school kids start crossing the road, two boys stopped in middle as the saw our bike coming but the girl didnt. My friend hit the brakes and we stop inches before her. Close one.

Another time we were on a scooty (again I was the pillion). A bus had stopped on rightmost side of the road and we were going from the left side. A fat guy ran across the street but we didn't see as the bus was blocking our view. We collided and the fat guy literally bounced off our scooty. I know it might not sound funny but believe me it was. Not just us but some people in the bus we laughing as well. He got up, cursed us and went his way.

And the worst of all are those people who cross HIGHWAYS (no I am not joking). Its rampant in Thane and Navi Mumbai.

We Indians really need to learn how to cross a f**king street.

Maybe the problem is you. .
Hehehe, Indian traffic scenario is similar to Bollywood dancing song, only difference is ,in song they have good co ordination with each other and in traffic, we try to co ordinate with God.

while i was on my way home after a late evening meeting i was at a signal near oberoi mall at Goregaon. i had to take a left for miraroad. Bus behind me was giving left signal and because i was in his way he was honking loud. signal was red and i had decided that i will not move my bike a ench till it turns green. he was shouting and honking. it was 10 pm. one uncle in mid 40s came saying "side dede roadways ka gadi hai tumko to seedha Jan hai" i said that i am going left and i will go when it turns green. meanwhile signal turned green and he jumped on my bike saying "mereko left me thoda aage chhod de".
That was too much. it seems he was a cop who was going home after finishing his shift. he did not even take my permission. :banghead: i strongly said "Nooo , nahi chhodunga.. utar niche". I would have given him ride but that was something unacceptable. these people don't respect your space. Even cops don't wear Helmets while riding and that too in uniform. signals are joke for people and when you tell them to follow rules they think that you a fool.

I encountered two ediots at one signal. guess how many signals are there on my way home.
Ne1565 its same on western express highway. Funny is when they run like rats.

The Come-and-hit-me Idiot:

This species of idiots are mostly pedestrians(sometimes cyclists) who cross the road in a way that is equivalent to crossing it with a "Come-and-hit-me" signboard. Always encountered when a rider decides to enjoy some speed and rolls on the throttle. This idiot will suddenly spring out from nowhere and will keep crossing the road WITHOUT looking in the direction of oncoming traffic. The idiot starts crossing the road either looking down or in the opposite direction. This mostly results in panic braking from the rider or in accidents. And the defense which the idiot has is that they did not see the rider coming. They will hold on to this protest trying to justify that it is the rider's fault and all he/she is is a poor pedestrian. If an accident does not occur, this idiot will walk away as if nothing happened.

This characteristic has baffled riders who still do not know the reason for this suicidal behavior. Many theorise that the idiot is scared to cross the road while looking out for incoming traffic. They mostly freak out on realising that they are in the middle of a busy road. Hence to avoid this they take the "leap-of-faith" (coined by the idiot society) with a very convenient notion that it will not be their fault if they are hit (as they were not even looking).

Danger Rating: High
Ability to irritate: Moderate
Chances of the rider being blamed: It is always the rider that will be blamed for a collision
The way you ride is the way you are..

The majority of population in India are sadistic in nature. They can't tolerate when they see others having fun. The world has gone to dogs. Sad but true roads are full of lunatics.
