Bro, the phone is beautiful. If you are into sleek slider phones, then this phone is just the design that you will be looking for. It cost me 27,299 with tax n bill and everything. I think Nokia hasn't started showing ads for it cause they know customers that they are targeting for the N96 might shift to this.

As for functionality, its got everything that should be in an expensive smart phone.

          1) The camera is the same config as the N96/N95/N95 8Gb but the focal length of the lens has been configured for better viewing. The major difference being it has a lens cover which I think is a must.

          2) The screen has to be seen to be believed. The clarity and depth, it is just amazing compared to anything from the I-phone to all S60 cell phones. This is because of the OLED technology used for the screen instead of the traditional TFT. Put any phone side by side to see the difference I am talking about. The screen size,at 2.6", might be 0.2" smaller than N96/N95-8 but then screens, or even touch screens were to go by, I would have bought the I-Phone.

          3) It comes with pre-loaded 8Gb card, which, for me, is MORE than sufficient. I have usually never filled my old N91-4Gb. And I don't want the phone to "hang" or be too slow when I fill it up, which I have seen happen with my project-lead's recently bought N96.

          4) As far as navigation goes, it has the same GPS system used as in the N96.

          5) N-Gage support.

          6) A very nice touch in this phone is the FM transmitter. You can actually transmit the playlist you are playing while listening to a specified channel, which works for a few meters and someone else can tune in and listen to what you are listening. There goes the car cables that you used to hunt here and there for phone connectivity .

          7) The slider doesn't have a flimsy/tacky/plasticky feel. So Nokia has almost perfected the sliding mechanism. I haven't dropped it so I don't know how strong it is . But sliding feels chunky and solid.

          8) This uses the same S60 3rd edition software, so it also has backward compatibility. The gallery layout has changed and you can tag your media files.

          9) It has a navi-wheel sensor option (I keep it off since I prefer navigating by pressing). You can navigate by moving your fingertips across the navi-wheel at the center. It actually isn't as smooth as navigating in the I-Pod but it still is a nice touch.

          10) Video recording is brilliant (640*480) and it has a built-in image-stabilizer so the motion feels real time and less jerky in the video. Sound quality while recording is disappointing though. It doesn't have a good microphone.

All in all, the phone seems to be a cross between a N96 and a N81. It has borrowed N81's style and put in N96's functions sans the memory and it has a few aces up its sleeve too.

I am deciding to buy Nokia 5800. I need ur suggestions. Its pros and cons.

As it is not out in market, it is difficult to give opinion.

But rumours are that, it is coming in 3rd week of Nov.

Here's my small list and some brief review about them.

Samsung C110 my first phone.. 4 yrs old and Rock Solid has gone through everything from a drop from a moving bike to be submerged in water. No issues, however after being underwater i had to remove the fogging of the screen 1.5yrs ago (it wasnt much but it made it hard to read, and oh i didnt even have to dry the phone just kept using it )which cost me 25bucks. No other issue. Not in production anymore but probably on of the best cellphones made. The outer panel looks like its been hit by a meteor and the battery is part of the phone so never replaced either. Looks are crappy after 4 yrs of usage but the performance hasnt deterred. Basic Color phone with polyphonic ringtones and regular facilities and very fast software/firmware system! Also if there was a phone made which can be used to speak in HEAVY rains then this was probably the phone!. IMO i've used it in every possible condition and its my favorite phone till date!.

Reliance ZTE Classic CDMA, the phone was used a little over a year for about 1200hrs in one year. Died suddenly and that's it. Reliance number was used simultaneously (for STD incoming) along with my other vodafone number. No issue other than that it used to heat up a lot! Needs a raditor with regular coolant . firmware was slow!

Reliance LG RD3000 CDMA, after my old reliance died on me ive begun using my Reliance. About 150 hrs in the last 3 months its served me well. Firmware is basic but almost as quick as my C110 has loudspeaker facility that my C110 doesnt have and i appreciate it. Reliance network quality is probably unmatched!. Anyway the phone heats up as well and requires a radiator with super coolant..

And my Nokia N82. This phone is awesome! Im still running no the V10. firmware and gonna be upgrading it to the V20. V30 has no hacks till now so using a lot many features will be difficult. This phone is so much faster than the N95. Supports cards upto 8GB and above! Has Xenon Flash which is awesome in the dark and takes good shots as well and probably the only phone in Nokia with a Xenon flash. correct me if im wrong here. But a firmware upgrade should improve the exposure a lil better. I've not used it a lot as im still using my C110 as i've not had the time to upgrade the firmware and load softwares etc into this one! But will be doin it in another few days time. The talk time is good about 4.5hrs but not quite as much as other phones but is better than the N-95 1-3. (4) i believe has better battery owing to its 8GB capacity (unsure).

There's a lot i can speak about the phone but if u want to read about the features u can check this link. Nokia N82 - Full Phone Specifications, Price

My phone color is warm titanium. It looks great!

The phone is not much of a looker i admit but is features are the best! and so is the performance. Although nokia has launched equally good or better phones feature wise. This phone is total value for money. One thing that kept me away from buying the N95 classic,8gb/96 is the slider issue. (N96 sucks as its wayy slower but a firmware upgrade is said to fix it but it runs a slower processor as well dont think any firmware will help much)My friend paid 6K fixing his slider problem on his N95 before selling it off! Although its not common issue but sooner or later slider phones tend to give way. My dad's D500 also started having display issues which result from the slider giving problems!

Overall I've had a great experience with Samsung. I hope my N82 serves me well. The phones great and well built has a metallic look although its all plasticy. One thing i would like to tell is that its key pad is very small. U might as well consider it to be tiny. But, its easy to get used to it! And i've no issues typing watsoever.

the N85, in terms of music quality, is at par with N91 with headphones. Of course the speakers of the new phone is much better (2 vs 1). The equalizer is more effective in N85 though, with user getting more feel of the contrast between Bass and Tone settings.

Has anyone used any of the GPS offerings by Nokia or SE? I am thinking of making a purchase, but still there's a doubt how good the map coverage will be. The Nokia India site says coverage is for the metros only. How about far flung areas and states?

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Google map is just a gps enabled map, not a navigation system (yet)
