    Hi guys,

    Since we were planning for our leh theerth early next month we wanted to do some shopping. Had a very bad experience with Cramster at their showroom today. thought I should share it with you guys.

    it goes like this... me, sheshaditya, vishnuu and hydbiker were planning for our trip to leh and wanted to purchase some stuff from cramster. the items were:
    1. 4 Saddle bags
    2. 1 Tank bag
    3. 1 pair gloves

    since this was relatively huge purchase we thought we should ask cramster guy for some discount. Vishnuu called up cramster and negotiated, initially he was reluctant to give away any discount, at the end he agreed that he would give 5% discount only if we purchase from his store by paying cash.

    Luckily my brother was in banglore and he agreed to go to the store and pickup the goods for us. He went there today morning to make purchase worth 11,350/-

    He goes and talks to the showroom guy (some Suresh or something from here onwards referred to as "store_guy") and the store_guy tells him that he wont give any discounts. my bro calls me up and tells me the situation. we tell my brother that we are from xbhp hyderabad and called up 3 days ago and someone on the other side of the phone agreed to give us 5% discount.

    The reply was, "I never gave anyone discounts in the last 5 years. I wont even give discounts to xbhp banglore guys. The guys including keerthi are not here at the moment and they wont come to the store till next month. now, I am busy do you want me to make a bill or not?"

    at this moment my bro gets a little pissed off and calls me to ask why I was asking him to buy stuff from some ****in cramster. I immediately called up vishnuu and asked him to call up the store_guy. vishnuu calls me up later and says the situation is ****edup and we should buy items from cramster since we dont have any time to get stuff from elsewhere.

    Now, after this my brother tells him that he will buy the stuff but before that he wants to check. The store_guy tells him that he wont open the packing and he has to look at the display pieces and then take the new bags as such. At this point my brother calls me up and tells me that we should cancel the plans as the store_guy is not responding well. I convinced him that we had no other choice and he should pick up the stuff.

    I purchased a tank bag few years ago from cramster. that time I dealt with Keerthi Jayasimha and it was a very pleasent deal. My brother purchased his gloves last year from cramster store and his experience was good too. but its not anymore. looks like cramster feels that they are the only guys in india with some special stuff. may be its time we should start looking for alternatives. I already started though. Though the cramster bags are decently prices and good quality; this type of behavior wont result in happy customers.

    All I can say at the moment is that I am pretty pissed off and wont recommend cramster to anyone else.

      Good products, bad service and attitude = no go! Best would be if Keerthi clarifies this here or to BOO.

        I had been to Adventure on the Rocks couple of days back!
        He had nice saddle bags and tank bags, you might want to have look there.

          Hmmm...not sure what went wrong; I ordered a pair of gloves from Chennai during Feb 2010 & was skeptical about the size; the owner told me that he would replace the piece if I found it unsuitable. They also followed up through email & were prompt enough to give me a call back once they received the payment & double checked my address.

          Sorry to hear your frustration

          PS - Yes, there's a person called Suresh working there, he was the first person to give me a call regarding the order confirmation.

            Even let me share my conversation with Cramster store guys.

            I have actually called Cramster store guys on 15th, the guy who picked up the call asked me pls call me after 30 mins as we are currently busy. I have called them again after 30 mins, introduced myself & asked about the availability of the items, He said all items are available. I asked him mode of payment which i can pay either through Credit card or transfer funds online & he replied that currently that are not taking any bank transfers. I asked him about the discount & even told him that we are from HYD XBHP & this is our 3rd order & also said that he has given us earlier. The he said if you can come here, collect goods & pay cash, we can give you 5 % discount & He clearly said if you buy here 5 % discount & if i courier no discount at all.

            I was very much happy with his call & informed the same to Booo as his brother is currently in Blore. Today morning When I called up Cramster store again after the intial talks that Booo & his brother had. The person picked up the call was different & I again introduced myself to him. He started responding in a different manner saying that they never given any discount from past 5 years across all the seasons. After I insisted him that with whom i have spoken earlier, then he said that they may other persons who gives discount, but I wont give at all & myself is store manager for today. I asked him when the other guy will come,he said they all went on tour & only will be back after 15th of next month. He also started saying that he is pretty much busy as he has to do lot of work in the store. I was really pissed of with his statements & cut the line.

            Informed the same to Booo & asked him to tell his bro to purchase the order.

            The things which really pissed me of are.

            1.There is no coordination among the store guys
            2.One guys says only he will not give & others will give.
            3.Dont know why he is explaining his duties to me on phone.
            4.Attitude towards the customers.

            We know that Cramster manufacturers very good products & their quality is superior for the price they are giving & they do manufacture some unique products which others don't in India. But the people at bottom level are spoiling their reputation, its the not question of discount, we may hardly get 500rs over there. But the treatment towards customer is very important. If Suresh is not authorized to give any discount, he can say the same to us. But his attitude is entirely different & i didnt understand why he is repeatedly saying I only need to look after the entire store & has got lot of work.
            Give way to trains.

              I bought a Cramster Raptor and TRG2 Gloves.. and I DID get a discount. And this was 2-3 months back.

              store_guy said he would give me the discount if I pay in cash instead of card.

              Just to put a +ive point ... the velcro on the wrist came off on the gloves and Cramster gave me a new pair of gloves as this was a manufacturing defect.

              I am happy with my Raptor, however n_aditya is complete dissatisfied. Check his post>

                ^^^Reminds me another incident; when I initially asked for Large size gloves, they said its well in stock; but the next day when it was due for shipping, they called up (another guy) said they only have Medium & would take about 20 days for the Large size to arrive.

                  It wasn't the discount that mattered. At the max we'd have saved Rs 100 to 150 per head. But the way the person was speaking was very irritating.

                  I am not sure how often a person would stand at Cramster's counter for a single order worth over 11K and that we've been telling him that we have been using Cramsters for several years now, the guy was pissing the customer off by not allowing him to see the product before he makes a bill and asking him to either buy or get away.

                  Several dealings in the past were very happy ones. This one spoils all.

                  Balaji Helmets (Blr) guys it seems has some imported tank bags for Rs 1K. And, as Riaz mentioned, we should check out Adventure On The Rocks (Hyd) too. Hope their prices are affordable.

                    I have one such experience with that guy!
                    I have told this to Keerthi, and he too knows abt this guys attitude. I never enter the store if keethi is not there. So problem solved for me atleast!

                    For saddle bags, U can check the ones from 'take off ur ass'. There are easy to carry on the shoulders. You can PM sumit on that.

                      We really don't want to get into this discussion. But really want to say this.

                      Giving discount is our and only our prerogative. We do not have to give discount to every person who walks in. why should we?

                      We know this is a public forum and people can post up whatever they like. demanding something like a discount as if it is somebody's right is unwarranted and unfair.

                      We are not arrogant. We are fair. We try our best to keep our customers satisfied. The person working at our store is a human being. We respect him and he deserves more respect from customers than he gets. Not all but some customers are unfair. We know. We Accept them the way they are.

                        Well, BOO & Vishnu clearly said, they were offered a discount when they talked over the phone. But later it is being rejected, which in anyone's perspective is a attracting a customer for a sale & then when the customer shows up for purchase, it is being denied, basically a false promise. For any business to succeed, the word of promise should be kept no matter what happens. If someone from the store picks up the phone during the store's working hour & commits something, then the entire store is responsible for it unless & otherwise someone from the store calls up the customer before hand & state it is not possible & not when the customer turns up.

                        This seems to be like blaming that customers are unfair; To me in any business customers will remain unfair & it is upto the business to make them feel what they're asking is unfair politely. Moreover, you guys are responsible for what the person working in the store commits. When he commits something, he commits for Cramster as a company & not for the person himself right?

                          It will be better to train your employees to talk with each other and know who is saying what to their customers.then it will better for you as no one will come up saying that 1 of your employee said one thing and someone another.

                          Because you know these complains on the biking website can tarninsh your image and business heavily!

                            completely agree with you on this,very well put!!

                            My experience with cramster when i was there to purchase was very good, never faced any issues the person over there was very helpful. I for one am really surprised & sad to hear the pain few of our members went through.

                              A very strange reply and perspective from you. The whole story clearly says Cramster is unfair, and NOT the customers here. Thumbs down.
