Stock exhaust sounds hollow, more like treble. Re-packed exhaust has strong bass yet much quieter. As the title says - From Noise to MusicOriginally posted by Dreamwalker987 View Post

Re: From noise to music...DIY:Re-pack a Free Flow exhaust
I've been using the raceconcepts ffe for the past 7k km's, its been running very well except for the regular refilling of glasswool every 1500 km's...
Wanted to ask you guys what is the right method for refilling glasswool? I've just been stuffing as much glasswool as i can into the exhaust, is that okay or should i be using the metal screen method??Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! That is not the exact way to fill glass woolOriginally posted by revvhard View PostI've been using the raceconcepts ffe for the past 7k km's, its been running very well except for the regular refilling of glasswool every 1500 km's...

Thanks, used juris's method this time and I've noticed that it requires a lot less glasswool as compared to just stuffing it down.Originally posted by Vizack View PostThat is not the exact way to fill glass wool

Re: From noise to music...DIY:Re-pack a Free Flow exhaust
Very Nicely detailed DIY. Thanks a lot. I looked at the FFE and am really shocked on the fact that Joel's FFE is just a performated tube concealed inside a stainless steel can. I thought it would have more engineering into it to produce exact back pressure etc. Kindly share your thoughts. Please tell me if it is better than stock by any means apart from the bass effects ? Any flat spots on an particular rpm? I feel that at around 6200rpm the bike hits a flat spot. I own a version 2.

Re: From noise to music...DIY:Re-pack a Free Flow exhaust
Guys i need to change glass wool which has probably worn out by now from my stock avenger exhaust. Am from Kottayam,Kerala. So basically where can i get these ceramic wool nearby?Originally posted by krish2778 View PostWow, detailed thread. Just when i was looking around for fiber glass for totally forgetting this glasswool refilling headache. But mate, let me ask one thing, does these multiple layers help sustaining the life of ceramic wool for longer than before ? If yes , for how long ? And also how would it compare to fiber glass , which is just a one time fill and then forget type of solution. I'm looking forward to the comparison.
Also how did you fix the metal wire on the metal mesh over the perforated pipe ? inside access is so limited or did you do the fitting outside and checked the fitting on trial and error basis ?
Cheers
