@amulu - You can plug the bigbore and exhaust with the existing stock ECU itself. It will work. With the new ECU, it will work even better. The complimenting factor will be better.

@Zenash - Thanks. Great to hear . Price of goodies will only be over mails.

The new ECU was tested at the track on a bone stock bike and the results are very encouraging. More to follow over the days.

                  Hi Joel
I am Rajiv. I have moderate experience modding bikes and I am big enthusiast of engines and various aspects related to it. So this thread caught my attention. Btw cant you rebore the stock cylinder to fit your piston instead of putting all new cylinder. I asked because somebody was selling his r-15 cylinder somewhere on the site.

^Nope you cant do that. The stock cylinder does not have a sleeve. It only has a chrome coat on machined aluminum. Also the cost of a OE cylinder kit from yamaha costs nearly 8k including piston, rings etc. Which is on the expensive side.
My kit has a custom factory cast sleeve, and the whole process is a bolt-on. For all the power gains u get and the reliability it offers.
I also have stock of the next oversize piston for my bigbore kits, so you can use the first size for say some 30k kms, then go for 0.25, then 0.50 in similar intervals. Which means, this is one stop solution for your engine to run miles and miles. The stock cylinder looses compression and sealing after 20k kms from what I have tested. This is if the engine was maintained very well.
This bigbore is the last thing you will ever need to get such reliable power.

Ya right the much hyped Yamahas DiASil cylinder. Are you sure it lasts for only 20k Kms. If so its a big goof up by Yamaha. I cant imagine changing piston and cylinder every 20k Kms. So in their add campaigns they forgot to mention 8k+labor charges every 20k kms, what was yamaha thinking.

^20k kms with good compression and performance I mean. It will run otherwise, but not as good as what it was from factory. Thats what i consider as cylinder life and not the last stage of seizure or excess piston slap.

                              Hi joel.
Your upgrades for the bike sound amazing.
The R15 itself is a great bike and you making it so much better is really awsome.

I was thinking about upgrading my bike but me being a student,
money is always an issue So i was thinking of starting slow.

I would like to know more about your ECU and how much it would cost, gains, etc
Maybe soon i can save enough to buy one.
Hope you will be able to help me.
                              Thanks

@RhythmRana99 - You cannot do anything with the stock ECU. It cant be rewritten. Hence developing an all new ECU.

@Vikram - Will keep u posted over mails.
