    10KMPL increase

    I went for a pretty basic upgrade.Just bore kit+FFE. Was getting 42-43 in bangalore traffic at avg of 65-75 speeds...Now I get 44-47 .As per Joel mine was the 16th RTR he worked on. Been 7 months and around 8000kms(I din get a chance to tour after that ) and its going pretty strong *touchwood*

      Now a days with almost 90% ripping, I get 35 kmpl, this seems so much better. The first time I got 40, I recalculated 10-15 times and made each and every family member calculate, even after that I did not believe, "It must be a mistake" is what I thought till the next time I refueled and got 39.45xx and this time I started to believe.
      Just imagine for a person who has settled to live with 30 kmpl and is very comfy gets 10 kmpl increase, how surprised he must be, you cant imagine.

        @Abhayshanu: Cheers, dude...after reading your posts, I'm convinced of the bike's improved performance...I'm finally going to B'lore, this week-end to get my bike Joel'ed...thankfully Joel has accepted the proposal

              ^Yes the exhaust is being built. Will be sent out in a day.

              @Chinmay - Like I said, a lot more can be done. There is a lot more to be done. There is still solid room left by me, for the next set of mods to soup the engine to next levels. Quest for building India's fastest P220, anyone ?

              EDIT - option open only for the P220 carb version. However the FI can also handle similar upgrades.

                me me me !!! What else do you have in mind for us deprived P220 owners in your kitty? How i wish i get a good 2nd hand R15 from somewhere.

                  My bike is always available for the upgrades. I will be coming down to your workshop soon to get my bike souped further. More power is always welcome.

                    Nothing for the 180?
                    IMO if something is done for the 180, the same stuff can be used for the 150 180 and the 200. I am referring to the bore+piston+head since all have same stroke lengths and hence the parts are interchangeable. I mean a p180 can easily be run with a 200 bore+piston+head kit leaving everything else stock.

                        Finally Joel'ed

                        Holy Christ!! The exhaust is LOUD!!!!! . Sounds like a freakin' monster. The bike revs more freely now and is generating better torque, as per what i could make out. I am easily crawling in 2nd gear in traffic whereas earlier i was shuttling between 1st n 2nd. I kept riding aimlessly for more than 4 hrs after installing the FFE !!!!
                        The number of eyeballs, err, ears its attracting is phenomenal. I am literally being chased n flagged down by curious riders. Some even come too close for comfort and run the risk of being rammed

                        God, what can a mere exhaust do..Oh and did i say its LOUD!!!!!

                            .... thats the only reason why i dont like FFE...its too loud for me. BTW, u had a P200 right? Did u upgrade to a P220 or have you installed it on your 200 itself?

                                Thanks to you, i might just as well get thrown out of my building now . We have an enclosed garage and the sound resonates like crazy. Today morning when i started the bike and the autochoke kicked in, it was absolute mayhem in the garage .

                                Yes i did have a P200 earlier,but sold it long back and got myself a P220 DTSi. And silent FFE?? I will never get myself a subwoofer in my car now,nothing will come close to it.
