25000 KMs update
It been more than a year (almost 10,000KM) now I am running Joels setup (Re-worked Head + FFE).
I am back to stock exhaust as of now, as I have burnt all the Glass wool in my FFE due to which the bassy sound is gone. Will revert back to it once I have refilled with better quality Glass-wool that will last long. Any advice on this from current FFE users or Joel?
Coming to the point, the bike is performing quite well. Ride-ability is better than the stock 220.
Smokes any bike that tries to show-off (just kidding
). Has proved its reliability on long tours and within city.
Mileage is more or less same, however, I think it is good as now I redline my bike quite often.
One thing worth mentioning here is, after the MODS I never faced Cold start issue again. Also a couple of other minor issues too were solved.
The setup is so good, I never felt like changing my ride. Quite a few good bikes were launched (CBR, Duke, 200NS, R15 v2) but none of them were convincing enough.
Now, my past record with keeping a bike for long has never been good. My family thinks I spend all the money I earn in selling and buying bikes. They think thats the reason behind my poor bank balance...LOL......
i bought and sold 6 different bikes within a span of 6 months (no exaggeration) before hanging on to my current 220 for more than 3 years now. This bike in stock condition was very good. It bought a huge smile whenever I rode it.
However, after Joel cast his magic on my bike it has become lot more fun.
Now comes next level of MODS. Next week my bike will undergo heart transplant. Yes!!!! Finally 230 Bore on my bike. Got some very good reviews from Ashish (AshuNik), JoelKraju. Will stick with existing Carb for the moment and will install that in next stage. I guess this is how I will be able to appreciate better the various upgrades that will be in place.Last edited by chinmayakar; 09-04-2012, 02:48 PM.

Rock wool and Alumina silicate are good substitutes i have heard. But dont know where to source these. I was informed by a guy who deals with alumina silicate, but that would have to be bulk orderd i think, like really big orders.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostIt been more than a year (almost 10,000KM) now I am running Joels setup (Re-worked Head + FFE).

But from the properties of Alumina silicate-
-More heat resistance
-Less burnup rate as compared to glasswool
-better sound insulation capability
And joel did say he will come up with better quality glasswool in newer batch, dont know if he has done it yet.
P.S: Even im up for glasswool change.
Cheers

Get your glass wool from any Enfield dealer, the stuff is good and long lasting, secondly make sure when you do your upgrade that you don't run lean on the stock carb, a little rich is ok, lean is not!Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostIt been more than a year (almost 10,000KM) now I am running Joels setup (Re-worked Head + FFE).

Will update this page with my review on Big Bore...........Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

You mean Enfield Service Center? Do they keep stock of glass-wool for their exhaust? I will visit them this weekend.Originally posted by stefanm View PostGet your glass wool from any Enfield dealer, the stuff is good and long lasting, secondly make sure when you do your upgrade that you don't run lean on the stock carb, a little rich is ok, lean is not!

Any chances of a big bore mod for my pulsar 200 NS in the near future? Maybe, make it a 235/250 NS? After reading all about Joel and his excellent work here, I'm tempted! Or if anybody has already done it on a 200 NS, can they post a pic or a review? It would be helpful! Thanks!!
