In India People do not understand the meaning of DRL. I face this problem everyday. NO Fc**n person on the road knows the rules. Leave apart following them. In India, Licenses are sold, Not earned. ITS SAD TO SEE MY OWN COUNTRY DEGRADE IN FRONT OF MY EYES BY MY OWN FELLOW INDIANS. Can't Help it. The day will come when all this will be soo dam messed up, that there will be an explosion in the entire system, and thats the time PROBABLY, We can re-build things the right way

INDIA HAS EVERYTHING, But still has NOTHING. You all know what I mean.

If Democrazy means to do what ever you feel like to ruin a nice civic sense in a person's mind, n tune it to be irregular, Cheating, cunning, 'jugaad-ing' , un-civilised, etc, then u'r probably right. Inida needs a change. And its seriously upto our generation to change it. Its getting worse day by day.

Isnt that bus supposed to come around that crossroad center piece where the policemen stand...? And isn't the policeman who came running onto the scene supposed to be standing there...? I am not supporting the gearless rider completely but in this case he is not the only one at fault...

Best advice, although many will not take it, especially for two wheeler riders is, regardless of safety gear, KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE (A PUBLIC SERVICE AD IN THE UK, USED TO QUOTE "ONLY A FOOL, BREAKS THE TWO SECOND RULE" TRY IT IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE), OVERTAKE ONLY WHEN THE COAST IS CLEAR (ON THE OUTSIDE,RIGHT OF OTHER VEHICLES), DO NOT RIDE ON THE INSIDE (LEFT) OF OTHER VEHICLES, PLAN AHEAD, YOU NEED TO BE THINKING AHEAD OF WHERE YOU ARE, DON'T THINK YOU'RE A SUPER HERO, BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT. LASTLY CONCENTRATE AND HAVE PATIENCE. "BETTER TO BE LATE THAN DEAD" This is a quote from a very close friend of mine, he told me after I almost rolled a convertible, since then I drive or ride much more civillised.

I have used capital letters, because I am shouting, ride safe, drive safe, live long!

              Peace,

              Stefan
This is what I have been repeating on this thread... When riding dun just watch the road just 5 meters ahead of you... But be aware of things and people on the road even at 100 meters away from you... many times I see someone starting to cross the road 100 meters away and I prepare myself to brake when needed incase he jaywalks into my path... And 7 out of 10 times I am right... Even with riding gear on keep atleast 2 meters between you and the vehicle in the front... The bigger the vehicle the more the distance... Unless you are crawling in city traffic... When in my car I have the rule that I should be able to see both the rear tyres of the car in front... If it is a huge vehicle I keep even further back...

And even with gear CONCENTRATE on your riding...! Be aware of people and vehicles around you...!! 100% attention on the road...!

One shocking piece of realisation I had a month back... There was this college kid whom I used to talk to on and off... He rides an FZ... Used to ride quite decently... Recently he got a jacket and gloves... Now he rides like a total maniac... I was taken aback when I rode with him recently... I asked him why the sudden change... His response totally shocled me...!! He says "now with the gear why do I have to worry... I won't be hurt... And the bike is insured... So no tension...!!" I was like OMFG...!! If this is the attitude then maybe insurance and gears shouldnt be allowed to such people...! Atleast they will ride safer and other people on the road will be better off because of that...
              "stay hungry, stay foolish."

To those who have attitude... My middle finger salutes you...!

              Rajmachi Conquered...!

              • ATGATT on a motorcycle is definitely possible for planned rides / special rides / leisure rides.

Helmets, Jacket, Gloves are the bare mimimum gear and most xBhpains / responsible riders wear them. Knees is another high impact area and needs adequate protection. But putting/removing and carrying knee protectors around everytime is an issue and mostly gets neglected.

Riding pants with CE certified knee armors is a more convenient option and should get equal importance as a jacket or a glove. Also its not practical / comfortable walking around in proper motorcycle riding boots.

The issue with ATGATT is carrying around the gears as storage space on a motorcycle is not there. And it's not really practical to gear up completely just for that ride to that grocery store.

Trust me i started following the ATGATT rule after I got my last bike duke 390 as I honestly was to stupid earlier. I honestly agree to this and say I am a living proof of safety gears being the reason I am still here typing this. I am still on rest period after what happened. A ride, early morning, fuel topped up exiting city roads to highway traffic (time 12:00am) hazard lights (aftermarket of course not standard on the ktms) on as I entered the highway. I opened throt after crossing all known tolls and slow moving traffic possible areas, achieved a cruising speed of 126kmph, ride smooth for two hours... 2:00am I start feeling lethargic, time for scheduled body stretch exercises as my behind was next to numb. I stopped at a dhaba had light snacks, 3 coffees and 2 smokes, geared up again started the ride again. 3:00am covered a good distance and entered wider roads... Opened throt again and I remember closing my eyes for a snap of a second as something went into my eyelid.... 5:10am (I guess by the skies clearing up for the sunrise I open my eyes and I see brake lamps in front and I am lying behind the bike body hurting but no cuts or bruises thanks to spartan jacket, rynox gloves and external knee guards, sql helmet.... I try to lift my hand and I find out that my left hand has both the bones broken, my hop has a puncture wound as I can't use my left leg to stand up.... I worst of all in front of my eyes is my duke 390 absolutely totalled. At that very moment I try to figure out what happened (this part freaked me the most) I can't figure out where I am where I was going what happened or even my freaking name... I remove my hazard jacket which I used to wear over my spartan and put it where it shows traffic that I have fallen.... I don't remember the time now bit I guess it's just dawn break... Localities see me call an ambulance and I am transferred to a hospital.... (My phone was totalled too)...... After a long period of 5 months I now have 12 screws and 2 rods in my left arm and that's it.... Recovering still but trust me guys I don't want anyone to have this situation so please please ATGATT.... I HUMBLY REQUEST ALL MY FELLOW BROTHERS TO ADVICE ALL.... (trust me I am losing it here trying to advice friends here in kerala to just use a helmet but they give a rats ass about it..... [emoji35] that's my story thought I might just give my fair share too.... Sorry if this was just a waste of space [emoji56]

Honest suggestion required...... How to make ignorant folk start wearing helmets and doing horrific mods to bikes which make me cry? Trust me ppl here are happier paying fines than wearing a good Helmet

Some people exist here on earth who don't get the point until it falls on them.

In general most of us have any faced some injuries due to which we got a strike on our brain to increase safety for our one soul one body.
We started wearing gears. It was from that point when we understood the importance.

Same applies to general public. Generally People buy helmet to save fines, but not for themselves (sour truth).

Many assume that we are fools who spend 15-20K(normally) on riding gear. Let them assume, they are free.

But demotivating is non of their right, we can say we are more matured in this department that's why we give more priority to safety, than spending money in any bar/restaurants.

PS : I don't intend to hurt anyone's feeling. It is what I think & i am in no intention to create any violence.
