Its not really lean, as the stock jetting can compensate for the exhaust anyways. It mostly the afterburn when you shut the throttle.
On WRC cars, the afterburn causes the backfire at lift-off.
Fuelling is just perfect with the stock jet on the P220.

Bikes running lean, reasons could be many, so its better if joel explains.Originally posted by velociraptor13 View PostIts been exactly 10900km till date (not a big figure)am loving my 220 everyday.Mine is the first lot with the db killer. The engine revs more freely than with the stock exhaust. What i noticed is the pull from midrange to top end has improved a lot.Remove the db killer and it scares every living soul
.Didnt calculate the FE but i feel it has improved marginally.
@joel-the moment i let go of the throttle theres a continuous rythmic backfiring from the exhaust(sounds like a WRC car
),what could be the reason? Is the 220 big bore ready?

It was really a tough experience for you dealing with those unwanted issues. Like I've always said, the RTR has a very robust engine and the mods that I sent you will work flawless and all you need is a good mech to do a clean install. They are fool proof and bullet proof in terms of reliability. We have members who have clocked over 35k kms on the RTR bigbore and going strong.
One of our bangalroe members, has completed nearly 40000kms with his 170cc RTR FI which was done back in 2009 and runs flawless till date with insane FE. Runs my headwork and bigbore only. Satyen poojary is another member who has clocked over 25k kms and many more. Its the perfect balance of power and reliability.
Good luck with your ride and have fun.

Joel, thats the catch. There is no doubt about the product and your after sales support. It has always been the reliability of the mechanic doing the build. Getting the work done directly from your facility would be the icing on the cake.
BTW completed 9000 kms+ on the FFE and it still scares the crap outta everyone and i am still being frowned upon by my apartment folks every morning
. I am riding harder than before and havent noticed any drop in FE like on the stock setup. Ridden sanely, the FFE has only improved the overall efficiency along with a strong mid range.
Keep up the good work.

^^ And i'm gonna start riding on your rtr170cc bigbore and ffe from today
And your statement "Like I've always said, the RTR has a very robust engine and the mods that I sent you will work flawless and all you need is a good mech to do a clean install. They are fool proof and bullet proof in terms of reliability." made me very very happy

nice review waiting for the pics nowOriginally posted by UTKARSH STUNTY SHARMA View PostHello everyone,i finally after so many small and big hurdles got my bike joel'ed.
One ordinary morning, i started the bike(stock) and after 2-3 mins i was like
my bike just resited to go above 100. when calculated the mileage it came to 19.6kmpl
. I was deeply frustated and soon threw out the k&n from my bike and thought everything would be fine again, but it became even worse. Took the menace to the doctor and he diagnosed leaking valves, busted piston rings. I was sad and depressed even further.
A few days later , i was wandering under the bright sun and finally a ray of light struck in my mind and i remembered a phone call on which i had talked to joel and he said he can make my bike fly. I trusted him and tht became even more when i saw revies of his wonder works on xbhp itself.
Exchanged a Few E-mail's , transffered the funds and the wait started. I really got angry on joel 2-3 times as the shipment didnt reach me in the promised time, but later it was found to be the problem of DTDC due to some maintenance. Finally recieved the kit on one fine day of november.
Got the Big bore kit installed from the svc, initially the mech put 2 gaskets above the bore and 2 under it, but on confirming with joel the setup was changed to 2 under the bore and 1 above it. Did a runing in of 500 kms, got the oil changed once at 250 kms and then again at 500 kms. After oil change took the bike to speeds of 80 and the bike responded amazingly well. After completing around 800kms took the bike for a blast and could do good speed.
1st try-116
2nd try-124
3rd try-130 (Please note :- im a 110kg + rider so these speeds wil have atleast 4--6 kmph more with a 50-60 kg rider)
I was just amazed by his work , i didnt wait much and i opened the bike's cylinder head and sent it to joel to grill it under the knife. My courier reached joel in2 days (Punjab-bangalore) and the courier charge by DTDC was 550rs.
After 2 days i transffered the funds and started waiting. soon i got my engine head back, and the exhaust followed after 3 days. got the joel'ed engine head installed from a castrol biking zone, the bike just changed it's characteristics, it went like a CBR 250 till 80-90 kmph, even more thn tht maybe.please note:- i was running with stock exhaust at this time.
Next morning a serious problem started the bike started leaking compression, now this is a loong story , i got the head opened by the CBZ, everytime used a new packing , tried resurfacing the bore too, but no good.
Got the exhaust on, but couldnt feel any increment due to the compression loss as i couldnt ride above 70.
Finally took the bike to the svc, they diagnosed a FREE NUT i.e the thread of the nut went kaput, the svc mech did some jugaad for nut and returned my bike next morning,(everthing was done in front of me), got the oil changed to YAMAHALUBE 20w40. Took the bike for slow and fast runs for testing the bike went a level above with the exhaust tht was for sure.
Paid 200rs at the svc, took my bike did a top speed run on a empty staright road of about 2 kms.
With the DB killer on i could touch speeds of 135 in around 35 secs with my weight and full crouch.
removed the DB killer with the help of a allen key, the bike started roaring really loud, did the same speed run and this time the resuly was 142 in around 33 secs. even if we ignore the speedo error, this speeds is enough for a rheavy rider like me within permitted time limit.
After all joeling The Efficieny came out to be
41.3 Kmpl Without the DB killer
44.8 kmpl with the DB killer
I wont post a review of the looks, but yes the exhaust is loud and its quite tough to run without the DB killer in cities. But yes tht the use of a DB killer right, we keep it just for city riding, once we are on the race track or a higway, just keep it in ur bag and go vroom. looks will be soon justified with the pics which will be posted soon.
In Short Joeling = Immense power+ superb mileage+ increased reliablity+.......
Thnxx a million, trillion joel. Hope u achieve the best in ur life and please keep amazing us with ur wonder with the 4-strokes or even cars.
