Experienced some part of that Aura today! Although for Indian die hards like us, all big bikes tend to have an aura. But there's no denying the charm of a HD or even a Royal Enfield.Originally posted by ken cool View PostBut I cannot deny the fact that there is an aura about the HDs, which I have NOT found around other bikes.
My two cents.Last edited by 46wannabe; 03-05-2011, 02:39 AM.10 Commandments:
1)Thank thy God for being alive.
2)Thou shalt respect one's own life and the live's of other road users.
3)Thou shalt respect one's own bike.
4)Love thy bike as thy self.
5)Always wear safety gear.
6)Alcohol is a strict NO!
7)Thou may lust after thy neighbour's bike specially if its of the R1 kind!
8)Thou shalt ride with 'ultra-most' care and caution when on Indian roads.
9)Thou shalt never leave the engine running at long traffic halts.
10)Thou shalt follow all of the above.

Yes, you're right. Even an '82 Honda 400's was within 1.25L range. '99 R6 should fetch 2.5L max. I'm assuming it is a grey import machine, isn't it?Originally posted by BOND_001 View PostIsnt the price a bit too high, since the bike has covered a good 1,15,000kms should'nt it be time for an overhaul
If its a legal import, you can stretch upto 3 or 3.2. And your expenses don't end there, maintenance being a key worry.
During 2006, R6's grey prices were around 7-8 Lacs. Can't say about '99 though. And a generalized rule is that for Sbk's in India, 5 years old in decent condition, means under half the price of a new one, minus 60-80k for grey import.
It means, 2007 legal R1 could cost 6-7.5 Lacs or so, because it ain't 5 years yet.Last edited by Samarth 619; 04-15-2011, 02:20 AM.---

My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
