Experienced some part of that Aura today! Although for Indian die hards like us, all big bikes tend to have an aura. But there's no denying the charm of a HD or even a Royal Enfield.
      My two cents.

      • Guys just had a query in my mind that, is it possible to import a 800 to 1000 cc bike year model from 2004 to 2007 ?
        1) If yes than what are the rules and regulations......
        2) what exact price would one have to pay ?

a lot would depend on the papers and condition of the bike.

somewhere between 2.5 lac and 3.2 lac.
            .

Isnt the price a bit too high, since the bike has covered a good 1,15,000kms should'nt it be time for an overhaul

Yes, you're right. Even an '82 Honda 400's was within 1.25L range. '99 R6 should fetch 2.5L max. I'm assuming it is a grey import machine, isn't it?

If its a legal import, you can stretch upto 3 or 3.2. And your expenses don't end there, maintenance being a key worry.

During 2006, R6's grey prices were around 7-8 Lacs. Can't say about '99 though. And a generalized rule is that for Sbk's in India, 5 years old in decent condition, means under half the price of a new one, minus 60-80k for grey import.
It means, 2007 legal R1 could cost 6-7.5 Lacs or so, because it ain't 5 years yet.

                        • Why do most people choose Hayabusa as their first litre class bike?

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

i think all superbikes give 12-16 kmpl, is hayabusa better in terms of mileage?
