    Congos for your P208

Foot peg thing made me laugh..!

How are you managing to ride? Is it comfy?

Put up a picture of you sitting on it.

and lot are complaining about Joel bro's packaging. Too local. Joel must find a way for it.

Thanks guys for the congrats. Total cost was around 15,500 or something... have no definite account for it, except for Joel's kit's price which he prefers to talk personally about.

Havent really seen the pics (behind a firewall) but am hoping theres a pic showing the misfit.... the "Chain tensioner"
Did joel send you the rearset too!! or is it a local juggaad!
Installed chain tensioner is shown here in pics... No intention of going back to the old bore, but will find a way out like I always did.

Rearset belongs to P180 UG4. Its a direct except for stock exhaust (which is now Joel's) and older stock saree guard, which nobody needs anyways.

The footpegs are really funny.Change it soon.
Now get the New P180's Tank Shrouds,Split handels(black),and split Grabrails(black).
Check if you can replace the Carb with the new P200 NS one.And name it 208NS .
Congrats and Enjoy your new ride....
208 NS? Bajaj guys would be so proud of me then...

Anyways, Split grab rails are officially prohibited from dad, who rides pillion sometimes. But will get the tank extensions. Thanks.
Split handles? Clip ons? I think they're touring clip ons which don't give a racy position. I'm thinking of fitting in FZ's handlebar, if it fits. That would be racy!!

The keihin jet though being same number of mikuni jet it is smaller!!
I guess your running lean as 118 of keihin jet is 105 of mikuni jet so you have downsized from 117.5 to 105!
      I maybe wrong though!!
Check the below link!! The sizing chart!

I did see the 2 holes side by side, and they seemed quite similar. But will get it checked. Thanks for the heads up.

If you needed to work on the crankcase, the best option would have been to split the engine.
I was too stressed due to job and everything that I thought its better to let mechanic do his job. I thought he might have a solution or something...

Friday the 13th. Damn, what a stressful day it was!

could you please tell me how you measure it to 208cc?
as i know joel providing 10cc more so it should be 180+10 =190cc?
CC is measured by Bore x Stroke. I changed to the big bore, so...

My bike had a 63.5mm bore. P220 has 67mm. This new bore has 68.5mm, total 5mm increase. Hence the bigger boost than normal Pulsars.

Right footpeg knee gives some pain. Left is comfy. The thing is that due to this setup, I can't crouch forward much, so the right rear set is uncomfortable.
Once both are on same rearset setup, then I can crouch forward a bit and would do just fine...
Will get a pic of the different footpegs and post it soon. Don't copy-post it on FaceBook though.

first of all, congrats for the modification job.

earlier i used to ask joel for modification kits for my P150, and he used to refuse. so since when he started selling kits for our P150/180's?? seems like a market driven thing. good.

hey, so what i understood is -
        • you have changed only block-piston set and exhaust. right?? apart from smaller things like foot pegs, nuts bolts etc? right?
        • isn't the price you mentioned too much?
        • and your mechanic may be right, it may be an over bored P200 or P220 block. joel doesn't cast engine blocks?? its too difficult and costly for such low volumes.isn't it ??
i am just thinking aloud, since there are some other guys who have done similar things like bigger block, different head, cam from P220 and things like that.

Thanks bro. Yes, only recently he started supplying Junior Pulsars' kits.

          * Yes, major mods are Block piston and exhaust... Carb Main Jet had to be changed too. Footpegs are actually the same, but the right footrest holder (the white part holding the pillion footpegs) has been taken from P180 UG4.
The left one will be changed soon too.

          * Yes, maybe it is too high, but again, I personally think my bike is worth it. Like I said before, even if production wise its cheaper, the R&D and testing causes a price increase too.
My major concern was not the price, but the component level supplied. I couldn't get some rare parts, and for others, I had to get made through an engineering shop (like a bolt) or purchase from other places than the SVC.

          * Maybe he's right. I have not yet confirmed whether the "JC" mark belongs to P200's block. Either ways, I'm ok as long as the setup works fine. I trust Joel over this.

Next in line could be a tuned P220 head from Joel, and that should complete the set of changes. But that would be after some months or next year, not as yet.

Guess you need to change your AVTAR pic.

I too am in favour of FZ/FAZER's handle bars to fit into my 200NS(still to come)
Infact the clip on of 200NS is uglier than the handle bars of its siblings.
Let us know the details when you do the handle mod.

next time when my block piston wears out, i am gonna try something like this, may be with a P180 block piston on my P150.

in fact i have been thinking about this for a long time, and sometimes it is better to go for a new bike, coz there only so much you can extract from it.

keep us posted about the performance when your run-in completes. i think there should be a significant boost in power & acceleration.

                Welcome to the club!

Not giving free advise or anything, just my honest opinion:

                1) Change the engine oil now and again change after run-in (500-600kms), am saying this because of the filing of the crank case that your mechanic did. U can use any plain cheap but good quality mineral oil like bajaj/honda oil for now. No need for motul or anything costly. Also keep on a look out for engine oil leakage near gaskets.

                2) Make sure you suitably upgrade your pilot and main jets and especially that once the bike engine gets hot, there is no knocking. If your bike is heating a lot, shift to a cooler spark plug since you would now be running on higher compression. Later you can shift to higher wt oil.

Changed the Avatar now. Will tell you about the FZ's handlebar when I get it done here itself. (that would be after left rear footrest holder and single toe gear lever is installed)

Thanks bro. Changed the oil to Castrol 20W50 yesterday at 50 kms after the bigbore. The drained oil was found to be lesser than required. Will change again at 500-600 kms. Couldn't get a mineral one at that moment.

Will upgrade the Main Jet soon for sure. Now, I can do it myself too as I know the procedure.

Pilot jet is for below 3000 rpm, right? (My memory is so poor. I knew what Pilot jet was for, but I just forgot.) And moreover, at idle rpm, my bike behaves like a stock bike only, the exhuast seems like a stock one.
So, is Pilot jet upgrading necessary?

Let the pilot jet be same no need to up size it though do change the main jet as soon as possible,go for apache rtr 180 jet, It has a mikuni carb and main jet size is 125 that should do it thats the only bigger jet I guess you can find or else you will have to drill the jet.
I too am running on stock pilot jet just the main jet is upsized and the bike is running good! 6000kms done on the bore and still its butter smooth and no problem till now
pilot jet is for 1/4th throttle

Congrats for the new set up! I have tried p200 handlebar with rear set foot pegs. Much better and sportier riding position! The pain in knees will reduce , a matter of getting used to. FZ handlebar is straight and wide whereas P200 handlebar is kinda angled towards rider. Check my album for pics.

Waiting for actual performance results after running in. Ride safe!

Good effort mate! I dont want to sound mean but you are better off with a monkey holding a screw driver under a banyan tree than with this particular mech! Any mech worth his salt would know that filing down the crankcase in this manner is a big no no!! Even bull mechs(the laziest in my town) split the case! No matter how much he wiped it, there would be some filings still left in the crankcase! To make things worse, you put in a new bore! nothing is as painful as seeing a new bore kit go kaput!!

After run-in, while changing the Engine oil a good oil flusher like 3M will be able to bring down all the filings. After adding the oil flusher make sure you either ride the bike on slower RPM or idle for about 45mins to bring the engine to a good temperature. After draining you should be able to see the fillings deposited at the bottom of your used oil.

Sadly things aren't as easy as they sound! What he did is basically fill in metal filings/particles of high micron into a brand new engine! The damage will be caused instantly! No amount of engine flush is going to help!

                                Cheers!
