I think the race kits have been developed by Daytona in collaboration with Yamaha.
But then, I'd assume U already kno this and were just being sarcastic !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

      • Guys, I hate to spoil the party about the race kits from yamaha, but unless they make that exhaust a lot more quiet this thing is never going to become road legal. Even here in India there's noise regulations that manufacturers have to follow.

If I hear the sound from the video (and the way the exhaust looks) this is really a race exhaust, just the absolute minimum amount of damping that's required to go on the track and for the rest completely focussed on getting rid of the exhaust gas. (Thus good performance, but lots of noise and definitely not something you can have on the roads.)

        • There are lots of tracks too wich have noise regulations !!
Also I'd guess they have this exhaust this loud only for testing !!
They can always add a baffle in the exhaust to make it silent.
Even Valentino Rossi's M1 has a silencer fitted to it.

But then Yamaha might not be having it road legal anyway, so no question of the exhaust being fit for road use !!
BTW, anyone knows whats the noice limit for silencers in India ?? In US it ranges from 99dB to 109dB state to state !!

Umm... Just one question, Do you think MT-01 passes this silencer test??

The kind of noise it makes is surely legal, right?

Good point, but I think Yamaha will have thought about this, so the new exhaust might be coming with a muffler.

                    Hey Guys,
These are after market fitments right.
Yamaha is not using them in the production line.
Daytona is producing them for Yamaha.
                    So, whats the fuss about?
Why there is requirement for road legal stuff and all that from Yamaha's side?
The same way Brabus and Mercedes have a collaboration.
Brabus produces high powered mercs with after market fitments.
Merc's production line has nothing to do with it.

                    Please correct me

yes dude i know the importance of the ABS in a car or in a bike it helps a lot in a security measures. When the bike manufacturers will introduce the ABS people will get to know about its importance like disk brakes when they hit the indian roads surely it will take time but the truth is lack of information among the peoples about the security measures and dont wanna to pay more extra bucks too.

                      • We need to look at the positive sides also...... they are getting the options...... if the sales are really that low then why the manufacturers are keeping the tech in production...... our 4-wheeler industry saw a big boom within a very short span of time....... but when it comes to 2-wheeler the pace becomes very slow....... Dont ask me why ......

yes you are saying right but dude you can surely have look on the road you will finds cars without ABS majorly. well about the ABS in bike it will take time to come (long time).

Let me tell you that why the pace of Indian bikes is very slow because in
Indian most of the peoples buys bikes of their daily purposes they want average, low price that's it. and the rest of people who can buy expensive bikes they look for the looks in bike power is secondary to them (eg why Apache RTR sales is not going up why FZ selling like hot cakes coz in India people in any terms goes on looks whether its a bike, a cloth or a girl too). in northern india Apache RTR sales isnt impresive at all.

The after market fitments are produced by Yamaha - Daytona joint collaboration according to BikeIndia. So most probably they will be going through the Yamaha showrooms itself because I don't think there is a Daytona store in India.
