2009 Speculation thread: What bikes could be launched?

Hey Guys i got some Good news from my Source at the Hero Honda factory . the most awaited bike in Indian history The KARIZMA Upgrade is ready .
he says it got
one projector light
Semi-faired
Led Backlight
Digi-speedo
It will have air-cooled 250cc engine with Fi and Over 21Hp at least
It will be torquey with City Riding in mind and will have power at low rpms
Price will be Under 1 lakh showroom to counter r15 mania
cureently they are working on its Final looks and cost cutting measures to make it into production . It may nor may not be called a Zma .

He also said that Zma will get some Changes to Make it Cheaper and it will be priced 2-4k less than current model

Add DOHC,PGM-Fi,4-valve,Oil is cooled.

Coming on to the bike.It shares a lot of parts with the Indian HH bikes.The front disk(276mm) is from Karizma, the rear brake lever is of Hunk,clutch & brake levers are from Karizma, footpegs are of Karizma, the petrol filler cap is of Passion, the rear swingarm looks like that of Karizma(I might be wrong here),one of the side panels looks similar to Stunner.

Now why am I saying all these things?Because this bike can be easily manufactured in India. There no supertech like multicylinder & all.Let's make a realistic guess of the price if the bike is manufactured in India.

Karizma costs 81K on road in Pune.Add 30K for 75cc,more power & torque,softer compound tyres. Now add another 30K for Fi,DOHC,4-valve & oil cooled.So the price stands at 1.41lakh.Add 14K more for the premium that Honda would like to charge from the customer.So this bike can be easily cost 1.55lakh on road Pune.

Honda will definitely come with a bigger cc bike.Call it their flagship model as they don't have one.And this model looks apt in every possible way.

Btw this costs 11,900 R$ in Brazil which is equivalent to 2.55lakh INR but nothing to worry as a 150cc costs close 1.50lakh INR. Also Honda is expecting to sell 50,000 units of CB300R in the coming 6 months in Brazil.

Well, some additions :chassis looks to be double cradle, wich Honda (or HH) hasn't brought to India yet, except for Splendor (to accomodate that ridiculous horizontal cylinder. Swingarm is definitely thicker than ZMAs. The rear subframe is thinner and more elongated. And is that classic CBZs 10 year old turn indicators ?????

I think that the CB300R is the perfect receipe at 1.5 lakhs for India. But for that HMSI would need to manufacture the bike here.. taking CBU or even CKD route might price it above 2.5-3.0 lakhs.


also what do you guys think about the XRE300..??

Single cylinder, 300cc, DOHC, fuel injected cousin of CB300R (and is probably being introduced simultaneously in Brazil along with the CB300R).

Was busy settling in my new job.So was off xBhp for quite a while.

The XRE 300 looks cool but i don't think there is a market for bikes like these out here.And for the price tag it would sport it's strictly not meant for India.Those bikes would come later only when people are spoilt for choices(250+) which in itself is a distant reality!!

And yeah the bike looks oh so similar to the Stunner.

@all dont worry folks honda will not launch these things here in our indian market...they might show in the auto expo 2010 and we will have a another thread name auto expo and these bikes going to hit india in 2010 june and we will be dreaming this bike is coming...only honda 100cc will come and also new activa with new stickers !

Uncomfortable pillion seat (it looks like) like a FZ16.
