2009 Speculation thread: What bikes could be launched?

1. The 180 will be called 'Menace'. TVS is also supposedly working on RTR 200 with ABS!
2. ZMA Fi speculation has been going on since more than a year now. Nothing from Hero Honda about it too. We thought the ZMA 'R' would be fuel injected, but it turned out to be only a minor cosmetic upgrade.
3. Honda has plans of continuing the Unicorn&will launch the CBR150 by March 2009 alongside the Unicorn. Similar to the 125 segment, they will have one sporty and one commuter bike in the 150 segment too.
4. Honda has officially announced that they will be getting an 800cc+bike to India by March 2009, so we can only keep guessing whether it is the VFR Interceptor, or the Blade. My guess is the Interceptor, followed by the Blade.
Even the Manager during my visit to the Honda showroom only informed me that we can watch out for the CBR and a big bike in 2009, and also fuel injection on all models, including the Stunner. So no concrete news on the Blade yet!

Well guys, here's something to brighten us up-Suzuki is planning on bringing 200-500cc bikes by CKD route to India, according to this article:

There was an ET article stating a new 'sports bike' in 200-250 class to be coming from Suzuki in December 2008... however no more updates on this!
Some of chennai members had confirmed seeing it being tested on a race track, but all want to be hus hush about it! One reason why I did not buy the R15 last month!

I am slowly (but surely) getting bored of waiting for the Kwacker! the next best bet is the 690!

2. ZMA Fi huh? This has been doing rounds ever since the P220 was announced, HH apparently are yet to recruit some people for their RnD dept. who can possibly fix a FI unit onto a bike on which even Honda hasn't given a FI in its 2009 model.
3. No news about CBR 150/125 its all just speculation....
4. Honda is getting the Blade boss, there's even a thread dedicated to it....forget the VFR it doesnt come under the 800cc rule...

As of now the only things thats definitely coming our way is the Ninja 250.....that too looks pretty delayed...

I wonder how many times i have to paste this link in order to make people convince that 180cc and 200cc bike is for real.They are definitely coming but nobody knows when.All we can see is making out rumours, be it the name,specs,features etc.

1. I agree, we need to wait&watch for TVS 180&200. I don't think they're gonna be content with 160-they are definitely gonna plan to compete with P200&220

2. I have no hopes on HH launching any good bike next year.Mentioned that earlier too.

3. CBR 150 is speculation, but they had it here for the race last month, if you read Bike India. It is more or less obvious that they are getting it here, else why would all Honda guys know about it unofficially?

4. Atleast you agree to the Blade coming in. But they had announced an 800cc plus bike, which many people are supposing is the Interceptor coz its 800cc. And the law states vehicles more than 800cc so it does fit in. I say, the more the merrier!

5. I was waiting for the Ninja, but picked up the R15, coz the Ninja 2008 model has been stopped in the U.S. too&they're waiting for deliveries of the '09 model which is 500$ up by MRP. Now its 4000$ so once the '09 model is released there, Bajaj will try to import it to India via CKD route through Thailand. Do you want an article about that? Well, here goes:

The news of ninja release in Jan 2009 is also not confirmed, emailed Sanjay Tipathi , sales manager Yamaha Motor India and got the news that 3 bikers will be launched in 2009 which have Yamaha DNA - Now whats Yamaha DNA? Something like r1- r15 conversion and fz1 to fz16 ????... What's going on all here buddies?

+1 to that: There's no smoke without fire! Why can't we be optimistic about better vehicles coming in? That would give us more options to buy better bikes! I already have two and am waiting to buy a third one, a superbike once it becomes more affordable.

Mr. Tripathi is not a sales manager... he is the department head for product planning and strategy ah and he is also a frequent member in xBHP!

The Yamaha DNA things were being told in 2008, not now.... the only rumours running down the mill is
1) An R25,
2) The FZ1000

Although the point 2 seems very probable and a cheaper option to the one!

No idea about the Yams-all I heard was possibility of a scooter launching next year from Yam showrooms.

But here's something about Bajaj launching 6 new bikes in 6 months next year. Looks like P200 with Fi&P220 upgraded with all black engine etc.
