Mahindra Flyte (gen 1) is best at 55-60 kph. Kinetic Hondas at 60-65 kph. If you hit a bad pothole at these speeds on any of the two, your future cruising possibilities may be suspect though

Activas cruise nicely in the 60-70 kph band.

Re: Cruising speed for every motorcycle and scooter

Is cruising different from cruising speed?
AFAIK cruising on a bike can be done by keeping the rpms where the peak torque is generated where one could enjoy a relaxed ride. Rx100 just cruises at 40km in the top gear, once it crosses 50km the power band opens and it becomes aggressive and pulls ones hand from the shoulders. I am yet to figure out how to cruise on a ktm200. Duke 200 is a city scorcher and it is never relaxed.

rider may be stressed on the duke but bike will not be, it will cruise easily at 110-115 km/hr

Based on my experiences - RTR's Crusing speed is around 80-90 KMPH. Ativa's 60-70. P220's 90-100, Karizma 90-105, Hunk 70-80, TVS Star city 50-60, HH Splendour 55-65. Yam Ray 50-60.
Truly Activa feels so less stressed at 70. A gem of an engine.

            Forgot my ol Gladiator..... 70-80.

Stunners are butter smooth at 50 kmph and smooth at 60 kmph above which you have vibrations while you score an average of around 55 kmpl

P220 cant do above 110 all day long. Tried many times, but it totally strains the engine. Heats up and make rough sounds. The best speed is 100Kmph, though it has some damn good power left untill 130KMPH.. P200 NS might do it(Have never rode my friend's NS for more than 15 Km stretch, so not sure about this).

Surprising enough, Splendour feels smoother than Shine at 60. Even Dream Yuga feels same as shine at 60Kmph.

And TVS bikes always have low cruising speeds in its commuter segment(Cant say about phoenix though).

To me I guess Avenger sounds way too noisy after 80kms though it can do higher 'linear speeds'. The ideal and sweet spot for enjoyable cruise on Avenger is between 55kmph to 70kmph. I am not sure what other Avenger owners have to say on this .

Re: Cruising speed for every motorcycle and scooter

In my opinion cruising speed for a geared vehicle is the speed from which you slot the top gear to around 50% mark of that gear range.
Consider an example - you can slot the top gear on the fazer from 35 km/hr without any jerks and ride at 120km/hr in that gear..
The cruising speed of that vehicle is 35 to (35+120)/2 that is around 75.
If you change the gearing with some sprocket mod, the cruising speed changes.

with the speeds 120 kmph i had done many trips more than 120 kms like i had went to Allahabad which is 120 km from my place and i had ridden my p220 at those speeds for 1 hour not problem at all engine was also not giving any smells and sound was like it is always.

Hmm.... May be its only the bikes I rode. The engine became too harsh. I decrease the speed. Once it cool down, all was well.

The RD 350 cruises best at 90-100 kph. The Suzuki Shogun 70-80 kph.
