        Cheers
That is the biggest misconception ever about ABS. ABS is a life saving technology which is as much required at lower speeds and country lanes as on a highway and racing track. What people have come to believe of it is an aid for enhancing the braking. No Sir it is not that. It is in all probability an aid to help you brake safely and that is an absolute assistance when you brake hard on any speed and on any surface be it wet, sandy or just about anything. I for one think that this is a master development by TVS and should be atleast made an optional extra on most of the bikes they have. Why else do you think Honda gave their CBS on a activa? Now I fully know the diff between a A and C followed by BS

        • I agree saying ABS is not necessary for smaller bikes is similar to the reasoning givena few years back for disk brakes.

The only reason I see it cant be given is due to its high cost which I feel at this point in time (when most if not all bikes outside dont sport them even now)is fine.

I am not sure why people are still speculating about its looks & other great super features as things are very much in open after that RTR 180 Advertisement???

But then, how the hell would you powerslide the rear wheel through a corner like they did in the Advert, if you had ABS !!

            • Probably the ABS is only at front wheel

So the front wheel cannot be locked, but the rear wheel can !! That'd have its own set of perils !! Highside anyone !!

But seriously before we talk bout ABS wich even litre class bikes dont have, y dont we pressurize Indian bike makers to have monoshock, and probably projector headlamps and better swingarms !!

I seriously think the time for monoshock has come and anyone riding at night, suffering the moronic cagers who insist on driving on high beam, wud appreciate a projector headlamp !

The thing is that its easy to play around with carbs as compared to the complicated FI units. for example, using bigger jets and free flow airfilters, u can easily extract 5-10% more perf from your bike. For FI, the same would involve lot of complications...

Secondly, has anyone read about the new Bajaj Pulsar 180?
Details here - Group Bhp - INDIA
Absolutely, every modifications can be made to the carb versions with airslide jet carbs and high flow perfo airfilters, but for an Fi there we have to adjust every thing with the ECU to control injection of fuel coupled with optimum airflow, which is out of league for ordinary performance street bikers as we are.

@rc007-I think u want an Fi for the sake of easy biking. If it is for performance then pls look above and u know what carbs can do.RTR180 is not a motogp bike that it will have Multipoint FI and Traction ABS.RTR180Fi wud come later.Fi on low capacity bikes as 180cc provides nothing but ease of biking and fuel efficiency.

@Joel.............I think we all have to write a poem to woo you to post again.Joel u are not outspoken.Sharing of knowledge is good and we have to accept that knowledge in open mind and hearts. What else can you expect of such a famous biking site if it is not discussion about ability and knowledge of bikes. But some of us do it in an impolite way...........you are not among them.It is good to have you here...........its high time you post some pics or any launch info or any recent info you have on RTR180.Please.

                      • Why do I reply, its hard to say..., the truth is everybody around here seems to talk like a pandit but doesn't want to learn one or two new things.

I wanted FI on this one because its already available on the 160 variant, and for the ABS thing, just google around you guys will be surprised that TVS was already doing R&D on this tech from past two years and was just too obvious to expect it to have it in this RTR 180 (by the way this tech is even avail for bicycle these days, so cc count has nothing to do with it).

Then not having these things in their new machine doesn't makes any sense, its like stepping back instead of moving ahead. I've no grudge against those who wanna ride this bike, just on the second thought if you feel humble keep that money for my coming birthday, I might just buy myself a Ninja and pass by your 180 like vvrrrrooommmmm .

PEACE (Hope you all can see, read and comprehend these bold letters )

if u read anything properly u would find out that TVS is developing ABS for their 200cc RTR (if it exists) - google is not an authentic source, it might even be a rumor

What are you saying bro, you say ABS is being developed for 200cc then you drop the whole idea of 200cc even being developed.

By the way all that I had to say was that their was some R&D going on this ABS at TVS and it was for their forthcoming bikes, and since 180 is their latest installment, it was so much expected to be in it...thats it..nothing more nothing less, 200 is your imagination...
