Powerslide brakeslide, WTF ... the guy it was meant for understood it !!Originally posted by Khushal+1000. Very well said.
Do you even know what a powerslide is or how you drift on a motorcycle???
Neither of the wheels get locked during a powerslide on a bike!
So thr ...Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

The point is, you can still perform a powerslide with ABS installed. Just coz the ad featured a powerslide you can't rule out the possibility of the RTR180 bundled with ABSOriginally posted by sukant08 View PostPowerslide brakeslide, WTF ... the guy it was meant for understood it !!

So basically you are saying that the Ninja will sport the ABSOriginally posted by rc007 View PostWhy do I reply, its hard to say...
, the truth is everybody around here seems to talk like a pandit but doesn't want to learn one or two new things
.
I wanted FI on this one because its already available on the 160 variant, and for the ABS thing, just google around you guys will be surprised that TVS was already doing R&D on this tech from past two years and was just too obvious to expect it to have it in this RTR 180 (by the way this tech is even avail for bicycle these days, so cc count has nothing to do with it).
Then not having these things in their new machine doesn't makes any sense, its like stepping back instead of moving ahead. I've no grudge against those who wanna ride this bike, just on the second thought if you feel humble keep that money for my coming birthday, I might just buy myself a Ninja and pass by your 180 like vvrrrrooommmmm
.
PEACE (Hope you all can see, read and comprehend these bold letters
)
I hope it will atleast have the FI, if and when it is launched, that is!
Coming back to the RTR180, I think it does what TVS wanted it to, as Joel has posted time and again. It would be interesting to see, how TVS would price it.Last edited by Obsessed; 04-21-2009, 10:45 PM.

Exactly...............TVS wont do a 200cc for a street bike...............I saw a TVS Isotope 200(engine) at autoexpo years ago........it was a supermotard and could be launched only if the market opens up for it.Now market will only be there if there is a launch of the Africa Twins showed by Hero Honda.Originally posted by rc007 View PostWhat are you saying bro, you say ABS is being developed for 200cc then you drop the whole idea of 200cc even being developed.
By the way all that I had to say was that their was some R&D going on this ABS at TVS and it was for their forthcoming bikes, and since 180 is their latest installment, it was so much expected to be in it...thats it..nothing more nothing less, 200 is your imagination...

OT
i guess the video is not genuine!!!!
reason: there is no " GIRL " in the video. a standard feature of the apache series ad.

coming to the point - why is someone expecting a abs on the mere 180 cc bike.it makes no sense to me. moreover it is already more equipped than the pulsar with rear disc and all other stuffs that is supposed to come in the 180p now! and don't forget the loaded RTR clocks! to me it is much more better than the P180.

Well TVS is known to test their equipment extensively on tracks & other places before launching, probably the reason why they took so long just to lauch a proper 150-160 cc bike on their own(almost).
The 180 too is coming after a good 7 years after the first 180cc bike was launched on Indian roads. So I dont think the ABS will come in just yet.Racing Throttle Response

Not much similarities, the power slide yes, but I love the TVS ad more. Especially "Why do I race ......... Its hard to say" just love this part.Originally posted by sai_ace View PostVids for comparison

Awesome ad for the RTR 180. Im sure the bike will be as exciting as the ad promises.
The 160 didn't disappoint and im confident that the 180 will surpass its siblings yardstick performance in the 150cc class, albeit in a different segment of the market
So when can we expect test rides in Bangalore ?

After reading all the replies I am more than happy to take my words back.Originally posted by Anupam Shrivastava View PostThere is nothing great about the ad and bike.
If I am right Pulsar 180UIII has 16ps while RTR is 17.3ps. thats a small difference. And with price almost 10K higher than P180. It hardly poses any challange.
But white does look good on that race track and the way the ad is shot. you cant really say how will it look on Indian roads.
One morething it will be a great commuter bike not a racing bike. There is one and only one ninja 250. If its launched thats the only racing bike in lower cc (given the fact yamaha will never launch R125).
I am waiting for ninja nothing else can satisfy me.
Atleast my wrong comments lead to some good comments.
Thanks everyone for correcting me.

not only the power slide - but the most important similarity is the Philip Island Track.Originally posted by bprags View PostNot much similarities, the power slide yes, but I love the TVS ad more. Especially "Why do I race ......... Its hard to say" just love this part.
and yes, i love the Honda ad but I also love the TVS ad - simply sexy! So now we know why the TVS bikes were present at Philip Island.
*One more thing- Just spoke to my 'source' - if the video was shot long time back - two months or more, then the bikes are disguised RTRs not RTR 180s. IIRC Somebody was at Philip Island when the TVS chaps were there, any idea about the exact date so that we could confirm this??
PS: OT- The earlier RTR 160 eFi ad was heavily inspired by the KTM RC8 video. So yeah, TVS is picking up the right inspirations unlike certain other 'Transformers' ad
