Wow..... the second option sounds great!!

It would be very helpfull if you could help in out with -

    1) How can I find out the size of LEDs used in the Back Light
    2) From which website I can securely order the Dual Connection LEDs

    Thanks in advance!!
For the size of the LEDs used, the only way to know is to open the Pulsar backlight console and find out. Common sizes include 3,5,8 and 10mm. As I do not have access to a Pulsar LED backlight console, I am afraid I can not help there. The LEDs may even be fixed in such a way that it may not possible to replace the LEDs. So, the only way to know is to examine the LED backlight console.

Regarding websites, I am afraid I do not have much idea. I only know that dual coloured LEDs are available at Ritchie Street in Chennai and Lamington Road in Mumbai. Since, you are not from these places I suggested buying online. Maybe someone else can help you here.

Could you tell me if you put normal leds or got some special thing?? I've never opened the speedo so I dunno wat those bulbs look like... a pic of the leds would be of great help...

    thanx
A normal speedo does not contain LEDs. They use 3W bulbs. I have installed the LEDs. It has few normal 5mm white LEDs glued to the underside of the speedo dial.

Here is a pic of a LED -

The 5mm LED I have used is the one at the centre. The rightmost one is 3mm and the leftmost one is 8mm.

Ok I may come across as quite a dunce to post this question after 5pages of discussion. But I am planning to do the same LED fittings on my bike( HH Hunk). So if there was a step by step guide to do it( If somebody takes the pain to write that) it would be very helpful for me.

I don't have a Hunk. So, sorry, not possible for me to write step by step guide. But, the electrical circuit should be similar. Only the placement of LEDs may differ. Read my first post clearly. Most of the steps are similar.

There are so many shops in Ritchie Street. I do not remember any particular shop. Go there and ask. You will surely find one.

They are mostly cheap Chinese made. So, quality is doubtful. Also, I guess they will cost more than the cost of doing this DIY.

                    Superb job done there

                    Have a couple of questions

As u know my headlights are running on DC i don't think the bridge rectifier or the capacitor is needed. Correct me please.

This is how Unicorn's reflector looks, kindly help me or suggest me how can i cut the circuit board.

I had put the LED's in this fashion earlier with which i am not very happy

The LED's i have used is probably 5mm ones. I am not very sure.

So, you want to try it out. If your tail lamp is running on DC too, no need for rectifiers or capacitors. Quick test - if the tail lamp flickers at idle - AC else DC.
I suggest you place the LEDs on a circuit board like me. If you leave them hanging like that, it will not look good and may move out of position due to jerks and vibrations.
Else you may drill holes on the reflector and push the LEDs from behind into the holes, this way wires will be behind the reflectors and hence not visible. Easier than creating a circuit board. But glue everything down properly.
Also, using a circuit board means that you can not use a clear lens cover as the circuit board placed between the reflector and the lens will be visible from outside. So need to use older red lens.
But in case of drilling holes in the reflector and using LEDs, you can use clear lens. Also this will be more brighter.

In either case solder all the components properly.

I will upload a pattern for LEDs shortly...

Hey can you upload a close up pic of your tail lamp so that I can suggest a pattern for the LEDs? Not able to find one on the net!

                            100% its on DC

Unicorn comes with clear lens only.!!

If drilling goes wrong then entire reflector will go kaput..!!!
Also see the rear view of reflector, drilling might also affect the bolt which holds the reflector with chasis..

                              Here is my suggestion -

                              PARKING -

                              BRAKE -

You will need to adjust a few LEDs due to the 2 mounting screws behind. I am not too good with Photoshop, but I think you get the design. Let me know if you like it. Uni tail lamp has much more area to plonk LEDs compared to my itsy-bitsy tail lamp!

Actually i had thought not to drill the reflector so i had an idea of putting the circuit board like this...

So any idea u can give me on design, don't think i am greedy

Also need some help to drill, how to drill the reflector if i think of doing so..!!
