    Yes, LEDs can be and are generally connected serially as shown in the diagram. The number of LEDs you connect serially and the supply voltage determine the value of the resistor used.

      Guys, to change orange colour of LCD to white say in UG3, first note that they use Electroluminescent Panel or EL panel to backlit the display. They come in different colours. In pulsars, apache its orange, yellow, blue, etc. In R15 its white. Its a thin sheet of semiconductor material which glows uniformy and very bright... Even in analog meter console of cars, the same is used. So try if you can get it - http://www.electrolamp.com/elpanel.html

        @shadow : Any idea where can we get these panels in INDIA....

        I believe the LCD Consoles that we use in our Bikes are all made outside India.... At the back of my LED Console is has SIEMENS logo.....
        How bout the LED Consoles in Pulsys...R15...and other bikes.....?

          No idea where consoles of our bike are made.. I think they are made in India only. Its not that complicated. Pricol also makes them. No idea where to get EL panel in India. But one can order online from the website. Let me know if you do progress in it.

              Changed the red plastic cover to clear lens one from DTSi. Must say it came out beautifully. Yesterday, I was riding my friend's bike with my friend riding my bike - the LEDs set up looked beautiful and distinctive.

              OT - I like the power delivery of my P150 better than the P180 UG3! The newer bike has all the power concentrated in the bottom end.

              Some snaps -

              Thats all guys!!!

                Abhijeet, I told you that it would look better with the clear cover from DTSi model... it looks very good.

                Just got a thought for your next step - might look very attractive or might just look like junk, but a thought - the two towers that glow when you brake... can they blink? - run up in series?

                  Yeah.. they look good. Usually I am never satisfied with any custom job - mine or others. I always manage to find some flaws. But in this case, I just love the LEDs in the new clear lens cover.

                  IMO, the twin towers blinking might look tacky. But, if they run up in steps like in an audio equalizer, it may look good. But as of now, I am in love with this look. So hate to change anything. Maybe if I get bored after a few months, the "run up in series" thing is what I would do!

                    Guys, I have finally installed the amby seal beam (Rs. 120) and OSRAM 60W H4 bulb (Rs. 80). I initially planned to install the avenger coil too. But due to not availability of the part, could not get it. But, the avenger coil was not even needed! THe stock coil supported the 60W bulb effortlessly at anything above 2k rpm. The is a slight dimming at idle rpm. And the brightness is phenomenal to say the least! Everyone elsee out there on the road dips their headlight whenever I flash the high beam. So, I am very happy with my set up. Still, I have ordered the avenger 180 coil. When, I get that, I will try out a 100W bulb and I am hopeful, it will be supported.

                    So, my LED mods seem to have worked and freed up the required power for the headlight.

                    P.S. - Initially tried a shitty Lispart 60W bulb. Output was only slightly better than stock 35W headlight!

                      Integrated indicator LED with the Back Light LED on P200

                      @abhijeet

                      Bro, that's some cool and neat work you have done with the LEDs. I've been planning to integrate the rear signal indecators of my Pulsar 200 with the Back Light LEDs.

                      So, what I'm planning is when I operate the turn indicator switch, the Back Light LEDs should flash Amber/Orange in the direction of turn, and when I hit the brakes it should do the default red glow....

                      So, any ideas arround this would be great!!

                      Thanks in advance

                        It is doable. The main problem would be in fixing the orange LEDs inside the backlight setup. Don't know if the backlight has extra space inside to fit the LEDs. So, that is what you should check out.

                          @abhijeet

                          Bro, actually when I was researching on this.... I also came across the same consideration. The solution which I found over Internet was Dual Colored LED, which change their color based voltage passed. But over here in Gurgaon, it's really hard to find some actuall serious stuff

                          But anyways I'll keep my research on.... I'm very keen towards doing this!!

                            If you can replace the LEDs with dual coloured ones, it is possible. Anyways, if you are really interested, find the size of the Pulsar LED and order dual colored LEDs of the same size online. Also, they change their color based voltage passed and there are LEDs with two connections. Switching ON one connection lights up one colour, the other connection, the other colour. Here, no messing with voltage levels. Also, if you switch ON both connections, both colours will light up together combining to form a third colour.

                              Wow..... the second option sounds great!!

                              It would be very helpfull if you could help in out with -

                              1) How can I find out the size of LEDs used in the Back Light
                              2) From which website I can securely order the Dual Connection LEDs

                              Thanks in advance!!
