  • Query regarding transfer from Pune to Chandigarh

Note: I'm not sure as this is the correct forum to post this, but I think the query is generic in nature and can amount to cars as well as bike transfer. I apologize in case this post violates any forum rules. It was not intentional.

    Hi All,

    Need your advice.

I'm going out on a foreign deputation & thinking to transfer my car (Santro 2011 model, ~7500 KM, MH14 DA) from Pune to Chandigarh at my native. Now, I've seen people recommending to sell the vehicle rather than transfer owing to obscure RTO laws which can be sometimes quite a pain. I've kept the car like a baby and has taken very due care so do not want to sell it. Also, I want to understand what would it take to transfer the car from Pune, where i presently reside, to Chandigarh, at my native. As I understand, I would need a NOC from Pune RTO. Do I also need some document like "Power of Attorney" created in the name fo my father so that he also owns the right for the car. What other documents would I need so that the process of ownership becomes quite painless. And, once the car is at Chandigarh, would my parents need to have it re-registered on a Chandigarh number, and how soon is that required.
Last but not the least, any recommendable movers and packers service in Pune that can help in transferring the vehicle as well as other goods. And, what would they charge(approximately)?

    Appreciate your insights.

    Regards,
    Ayush

    • hi team,
one query... i bought a CBR 250. It is hypothecated to HDFC bank as i took it by a two wheeler loan. If i move to a different state can i shift with my bike and just pay the road tax there? I do not wish to remove or close the finance now.
What are my options if i move to a different state?

The bank loan is not dependent on State rule, the bike redg. is. So IMO there should not be any problem in you getting your bike transferred to a different state with the hypothecation on the RC copy.

Your only option here is a time period of 12 months to be able to pay the road tax of the state you shifting to and incase you moving for less than a year don't worry about the road tax then. Attached is some piece of information (Source: Team-bhp). Please refer to the .pdf files for more information. Unable to attach it separately.

          • Transporting of your darling

            Hi people,

Now this is embarassing and i wasn't able to locate the right thread for it, but i need urgent help over a concern. I am bringing my 220 from bokaro, jharkhand to navi mumbai.
Me and my dad were planning to get it through Indian Railways freight, but then a friend of mine, gave me a piece of his mind and advised against it. His dad, being in railways, he says that bikes are literally thrown here and there. So am scared now.
As for the packers and movers, i talked to a few of them, they are quoting around 4000 for it. Is it the right price for it??
Also, to my disgust, he said that at nakas in Mumbai, Octroi will be charged for bringing in this bike. Is it true?? And if it is, how much would the Octroi amount to if my bike's current value is around 50,000.
Please let me know if you have any other reliable contatcts of packers and movers, and you have known them of good service.

            Thanks,

            nYsus

                • Hi Guys,

Need help. I'll be transferring my motorcycle from Mumbai to Banagalore (MH14 registration). I'll be in Bangalore for less than year (6-8 months) & then will return back to Pune/Mumbai.
I would like to know, has anybody transferred the vehicle to Bangalore for similar period & do we need to carry NOC or pay road tax in Karnataka.
                  Regards,

As far as I know you don't need Noc to pay road tax For a limited period.I came to pune from Jabalpur mp and just paid the road tax.running with no issues.
You need NOC only when you want to register your bike in new state.

                      following doc are required:
1.Bill or receipt of purchase of bike showing coat of purchase.
2.NOC if you want to register your bike in Maharastra.
                      3.valid insurance.
                      4.RC book or card

once you are in Pune the 1st thing you do is get a PUC certificate done. (you will find various PUC center across city)

Now depending on the location you are residing go to the RTO (PUNE/PIMPLE CHINCHWARD) and pay the road tax valid.

Road tax will be certain percentage of purchase prize.

Seniours please advice if I have missed anything.

                      Welcome to Pune.

Let me know if you need any help over here.

RTO FAQ Karnataka State TIPS for Paying Road Tax in Banagalore
I'm scanning for outside state motorcycles in my vicinity, but it's rare to find one. Finally I got hold of couple of guys from MP. Police caught them while riding on footpath! What the guy told me was, police asked him to get temporary NOC from origin RTO. He told me that he will get that once he visits his native place. I believe Temp NOC does not exist, though I have asked my friend in Pune RTO to confirm.
The road tax in Banagalore supposed to be paid from online don't know what happened to that project.

                          Hi mate,

I have never heard of a temporary Noc so don't worry about it.

I have Noc from Jabalpur but did not register the bike till take here in Pune. Just paid the road tax. The Rto guy asked me if I want to settle in Pune if so get registered your bike in Pune. Otherwise Noc is not required. Now this is related to pune Rto. Having said thT the link you shared also says the same

In regards to road tax yes that can.be on a temporary basis and one fir life time. If you are sure of your period of.stay go for temporary road tax that will.be field the period you stay.

I don't think.if there will be any trouble from.police.if you are paying the road tax:thumbup:
