I was going through a related thread
someone suggested to go to the rta and take an noc from there and drop off the registration and go for a new registration at the new location
is this necessary
-
@Shirish - If you've the time & patience, go to your beat police station, meet the SI or Inspector & request for an NOC from them. You may need to give a written statement to them stating the reason/purpose. If they're good they should be able to do this within a day.

As long as you have other states reg bike, you are more likely to get stopped. Coz they see a non KA number as an easy invitation to get some money.Originally posted by insanebiker View PostBro, i have an other state registered bike.
Is it enough if i do these to ride it in KA?
1) Get an NOC from the reistered RTO
2) Produce the NOC at the Karnataka RTO, and pay KA road tax
3) And the rest Blah blah, like PUC,INsurance etc.
Should i transfer the insurance also?
And i want my original number itself as it is a fancy one, i dont bother being stopped by cops as long as i am legal, that should be fine rite?
So after you are stopped, you'll have to generally only show the tax recipt in K'taka and the emission. They will realise you have registered it here ans let you go. But mostly they will keep nagging you about something or the other. If nothing else they argued with me about the size of the font at back, or the light having a glare.
Main thing is don't carry the originals with you, they will keep it in thr pocket and then blackmail you !!
So keep photostats, and wen they say to pay them otherwise they will not return ur papers, tell them to Fcuk Off as u have the originals with u !!

Get the NOC certificate ASAP. then transferr the bike and insurance to the frnds name.Originally posted by avinrichards View Posterr.. guys...
@aryan.. any luck in finding the thread.. did a search myself could not find it..
Come to bangalore pay tax and get it registered here.
There is a form for INsurance transfer.
There is a Sales recipt, which the prev owner will give u after signing on a 1rs stamp.
Form 29 (notice of transfer of ownership of veicle.
There is also form 60 if you pay by cash.
After all this you'll get the RC book transferred to your name in Chennai. Take the updated RC book , bring it to Bangalore and register it in an RTO.
Its better to get a KA number here. The police really hound non KA numbers !!

I show the tax recipt, but they still argue on something or the other !! (Mostly about the number written on the front fender) !!

Query Approved.
There was a thread which which we generally use to discuss such stuff. I am not able to locate it right now. Will search for it, and merge this query into that thread in a while.
