why you even wanna re-register it? You can ride a delhi registered bike all around whole NCR without any fuzz from cops, if you have complete papers (license, RC, PC and insurance.)
I am riding my Lucknow R-15 here in Delhi and Gurgaon which is on my friends name. I have all the papers (ofcourse on his name) but never had a problem with cops.

Yes I have the sale deed. Been using that whenever the cops stop to check papers.Originally posted by asif View PostDo you have the papers of ownership transfer with you?
I guess bikes <20 years are not allowed on roads of NCR. The normal redg of bikes are for 20 years and after which they need a FC/FT to be able to run (legally) on the roads.
Its actually 15 years. 1997 model expires in 2012. You have to get a fitness certificate.
A phone no of an RTO broker in Delhi who can get the job done also would be appreciated.
Thanks

Transferring and re-registering RE in Gurgaon
Hi Guys
I have a 1997 model RE Bullet, which I bought second hand a few years back. The bike is still in the original owners name (whose whereabouts are now unknown). Now the bike is completing 15 years. I have to get it renewed at the RTO.
But the Gurgaon guys are saying that the bike is pre Bharat IV norms and hence cannot be registered in Gurgaon, since it has a Delhi number.
So how do I renew my RC of a Delhi registered bike, which is in someone else's name, when all my address proofs are of Gurgaon?
NCR guys please help.
Thanks.
Also, I have gone through the other threads on transferring motorcycles from one RTO to another, but those were all about new bikes.

^^^Incase you are working for a company out here in Bangalore just carry a letter with you stating the reason and duration of your stay on a company letter head.
The cops would buy this. Make it look legitimate though...

Stay away from this procedure.Originally posted by mikethosAny guidance on the procedure to be followed would be very welcome.
Incase you want to welcome uncomfortable life...
1. Buy the GS150R from Pondy with temp registration (including road tax & insurance) with affidavit address
2. Ride to Chennai, approach a good driving school & get the formalities* done
*Formalities include paying road tax, registration & insurance to TN Govt using the TMP registrationLast edited by aargee; 05-09-2011, 01:28 PM.

@avin : Just ensure that he has the bikes invoice copy with him. There is some new rule, if incase he does not have the invoice copy he will have to pay the tax as per 2011.
Is the bike under his name?

there are two different things from what i know
1. you can pay lifetime tax for the new state and keep the reg no from the old state
2. you can pay lifetime tax for the new state with new reg no
if you want to get your original tax back then you need to pay lifetime tax in the state and once it is done start the procedure in your home state to get the original tax back along with the proof of the lifetime tax paid in the other state. now one thing that is not very clear to me is that in this case will your original reg no will be canceled or will it remain active.
the best way to do is get it done via a agent.
