Yamaha is working full swing to Introduce a thumper 250 on the lines of their sucessful international hit the R125 based on their Moto-cross YZF250F motor. The Under 15 BHP 125 being a "Learners Bike" in EU, Shall be followed with Ultra light weight 250 as Intermediate Step 1 License Bike ( Under 33 BHP ). They are also exploring this with their YZF450F motor too ... mainly to cater to the US market & Upper EU market. The 250 (25 BHP ) / 450 (33 BHP ) twins are likely to be introduced in the West at the end of this racing season ... Hopefully Rossi Winning the Title for Yamaha, As they are planning Replica Version's of them too. It's also very much possible these series of bikes may be made in India after the High in Demand for "Made in India Products in Europe Over it's ASEAN counter part". If these products would land up here ... Naked / Street / DP Tourer would follow soon. They may also be forced to bring the Products here to counter the, soon to hit KTM-Bajaj line up of products, as Bajaj is demanding & want to increase its 38 % share to 50 (or) more. That's why the delay & confusion in Introducing Kawasakai line up (or) KTM first at Pro-Biking. Regarding the Yamaha's Product Pricing, if they come ... God only Knows how much it would be depending on the localisation of the products.

Waiting in bated breath
The FZ I own fails to impress me on the topend, short gearing, efficiency (the feel I get for the mileage "30Kmpl" it gives)and quality of service fronts. Hope to buy a better manufactured in India Yamaha or go for a Firangi Yamaha mostly second hand.Arun you stay in our hearts!! RIP my friend

Went to Yamaha SVC for my service today and it seems like the Fazer has a waiting period of 1 months plus. There were 2 customers who wanted to go for the Fazer and booked it despite the showroom guys telling them there is a 1 month waiting period and there are already 80-90 bookings for which the bikes haven't been delivered yet. Heck they did not have bikes for display. Looks like another hit from Yamaha...
Either that or yamaha has miserably failed to produce the Fazer in enough numbers...sigpic
