i was looking at brake rotors(disc) if it has only been bent like that ,iam not surprised at the condition of the alloys.
it would take a massive amt of force to bend the discs,u must have scrapped the front on the road for a long time.
doing 100 on a dim lit road is v dangerous.

I have notice one things in new Yamaha bikes (start from Gladiator SS), all the bikes alloys wheels are very cheap quality (Since Yamaha claim that they had reduce the weight 3.5 k.g. from alloys wheels itself.) because I saw three accidental bikes at Yamaha service center and three bikes alloys wheels was damage very badly.

^^ I have noticed this too. Seems like the alloys do not have much strength. Whether it is by design to act as a crumple zone or to save cost is debatable. But the accident seems to have taken place at around 60-70kmph (braking from 100kmph). It seems to me they should not have broken like they did. Moreover, there are also complaints of Yamaha alloys bending on hitting potholes.

Speedy recovery mate! And drive cautiously at night.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Thanks to God you are safe. Wish you a speedy recovery. Get well soon.
Physics of collision and its impact is a fascinating world in itself, You never know when and how what force acted that saved the life or say a part of the bike only got damaged.

Have a speedy recovery, and do post pics of the helmet if possible, which model is it?

A very good quality alloys are supposed to be stiff and not bend. They do break though. One of the main advantages of alloys over their rimmed equivalents are that they have less weight increasing the contact time of the wheel on the ground on bad roads, increasing the grip. And alloys dont need wheel balancing every now and then, only when they are purchased.

But story of Indian alloys are different most of our bikes come with heavy alloy wheels that bend and dont break(completely killing the advantages of a alloy). In our country I Consider Aura as the best set of wheels(balance between hardness and lightness) but sadly they dont make bike alloys.

The way the fork and the disk is bent there has been some impact on the front wheel, after trasmitting some amount of force to the fork the alloy links broke which is exactly as they are supposed to work. It would have been scarry if they had broken just due to heavy breaking. In all other conditions Alloy breaking is acceptable.
