Not just here my dear friend, ktm is a premium bike manufacturer all over the world. Duke in Indian context is definitely premium more so comparing with the likes of pulsars, karizmas and all.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostIts not always about speed.

I ll take an analogy from the four wheeler world. There is a class of cars called hatchback and then there is premium hatchback. While a Figo and a Ritz features in Hatchback category, a Jazz and an I20 is premium hatchback. What makes one class more premium than others? I guess its perceived quality followed by a difference in price. By pricing a Figo at par with the Jazz does nt make it premium it just makes it overpriced.
I dont know about Enfield as i have not ridden it. But answer a few questions and it will be clear if it is premium or not.
Does it have better percievable quality than its peers?
Is it priced at a point where people generally consider it expensive?
If answer to both the questions are yes well then it qualifies I guess.
A bike may be priced premium but if it does nt justify the premium price it becomes an overpriced product. To become a true premium product one has to justify its premium pricing.
Duke 200 produces 25 PS peak power which is 16% more power than the P220 and same as a CBR250 R although the honda developes more torque. This is serious performance in Indian context where majority bikes are sub 20Bhp. Plus it has good quality and a lot of technology. I guess all that qualifies it for the premium tag. I would infact consider it a premium bike at not so premium price.Last edited by vibbs; 08-19-2012, 12:52 PM.Its not always about speed.

Hmmmm.. Nicely put. When you think that way then it becomes easier to segregate them into premium and non-premium.. But what i think is there ought to be another higher class than the premium for beasts like HAYABUSA, Ducati, h.davidsons...etc. Tourer, premium tourer, etc..Originally posted by vibbs View PostI ll take an analogy from the four wheeler world. ^^ agreed, everybody will agree that, hayabusa, ducati, HD are all premium bikes, not only in india, but in entire world.... but the point is ...in a poor country like ours ( dont kill me for that), even smaller and much cheaper (compared to ducs and busa) also comes under premium category. that is the reason why i had put most of the bikes that costs more than a lakh in premium segment.
and everybody know about RE.

Which fuel company's petrol is best for 150cc to 220cc bikes
Hi all,
I was wondering if the quality petrol from certain company/brand makes any difference to the mileage, engine and performance of the bike? If it really makes the difference then in India which company's petrol is best suited for 150cc to 220cc bikes. Is there any evidence that so and so company's petrol is better than other (example: less impurity, more refined one, etc.) ??
- Reliance Petrol (I am currently using this from past 2 years)
- Hindustan Petroleum (HP) - I was using it for past 10 years
- Bharat Petroleum (BP)
- Indian Oil
- Essar
- Others
Some of my friends who reside in heart of the city fill BP petrol and claim that it is better than HP. Whereas, my dad claims he found Reliance petrol to be more refined than the HP one so he fills it. I fill reliance petrol just because the pump is next to my house but when I was residing in city I used HP premium petrol.
