Not really. Its just 1 inch bigger than 17" and not 1 metre. As long as the other aspects of handling are in place and you have good rubber, an 18" wheel is in no way far inferior to a 17 inchers.
I've had my share of hard cornering on these boat-like handling karizmas at the track (with a 24hp motor) and still it hold pretty decently. All that matters is your confidence and skills around the corner.
Rider weight has no relation to wheel size. Which means according to you, a fat swine will be planted on a 17" wheel eh?
18 inchers still make good handlers. Ride an Old CBZ to know it.

i am no pro so please don't laugh at what i am going to say:
here it goes,I have had my scooty for some time and wanted to try how far i can lean on it before i loose control, and one day i had the guts . i drove my scooty to a sharp curve and bent to turn but as i bent i could hear a sharp scratching noise and when i stopped the scooty i realized i scratched the stand which was perfectly in its place at the bottom of the scooty.i wanted to ask if the bend which i made is good or i need improvements?
BTW my scooty is a 3.5 yrs old activa

You answered your own question dude.

It will throw you off my dear.. i doubt why no1 told you this at the time when you were doing it...
For an 18" incher leaning,we have to shift more of our weight..rather than bending the bike..

This is what is to be done on discover,b'cz it is center wieght but not this!!!

Can you lean my bike as it is shown in Kenda's avatar..!!
If you think YES, you are mistaken! if you shidt your wieght, you loose the grip!..
Just to enlighten you a bit Dear LP if you follow moder school of thought on leaning shifting the weight coupled with right body position is the way to go thorough a corner irrespective of the fact your bike is equipped with 17 inchers or 18 inchers. And just for your info P220 on which kenda did those awesome leans is also fitted with 17 inchers.
I wont or rather say cant go in details as i am no expert on the topic.
