Same is the case with my R15-when I ride it between 80-110 on the highway, it gives me 48kmpl, but on ripping it more it goes down to 30s. City is never fluctuating though-it remains at 43kmpl. You have a great advantage on that front-you get 90kmpl in city, so you can even use those saved miles on the highway. But I still feel a bike like the GS, which would give around 55 in city&60 on highways would have suited you better.
Even I always wished for a better bike, but mileage was my concern. As I mentioned earlier I want to complete 100000 km on my bike. I have completed almost one-third of the distance and I don't want to turn back now.

Moreover with the petrol prices increasing, I think I made a better choice.

      6 Speed Cruising on a GS150R

I just feel the odd man out here(kind of, after all yamahas, pulsars, RTRs ) buying a Suzuki. But I never regretted after riding it.
My first bike(geared) was a KB100 with excellent sound and pickup. My dad switched to the Bajaj Boxer which we used for 9 years(very good engine). My dad switched to Suzuki Zues and me to the GS150R...

I had researched for around 5 months on the bike to buy. R15 and FZ16 were so tempting as I almost narrowed to FZ16. Xbhp helped me to choose between the FZ16, Unicorn and the GS(RTR - vibrations, Pulsar bros - too common, I dont have a heart for HH bikes and so Bajaj, TVS and HH were out of my mind). I came to know the pros and cons of all the three... My requirements were more inclined to the GS and so it was the GS. Most of the time I commute in the city, But once in a month I needed to go to my home town[as I got fed up with public transport] and highway riding should never be a problem. On my first ride to home, I was baffled by GS's smoothness at speeds 90 - 100Kmph.

With 1800 on the odo, this bike is gettin smoother and smoother day by day.

          07 Honda Unicorn

          2007-Honda Unicorn,
First and foremost reason why i bought this bike-ITS A HONDA,never felt disappointed as she has never let me down even though she isn't the fastest 150,but has a damn smooth engine. My daily running is anything between 50~70 km/day,sometimes 100.With most of the time riding in highways at speeds of 80-100 km sometimes 110km/hr if tempted though she could do more. She gives me a mileage of 55-60km/l and 50 if ripped.
My previous bikes were a suzuki fiero(12th grade),and p-150 dtsi .I still like the fiero.
          .

180 classic 2002 model taken used for 23k some years back.

Reason was that i needed a bike for college. It has served its purpose. Now that the col is over it dosent run much and is in pathetic condition. Dreaming a lot about getting some newer bikes but lack of money is forcing me to stick with the 180. Might as well overhaul this a use it for some more years but since its having pathetic resale irrespective of the condition of the bike im having second thoughts.

                  My Choice

I had been commuting long since start of my career. Lately, I in my own chintan-shibir, re-discovered my very strange habit of riding (read: not commuting).
While I used to go or return from my early days of riding (Rx, prescribed by doctors, Rx 100), I used to detour to any possible route to my destination. That sometimes included long routes, routes through greens, through river bed, through city, through mountains (I was earlier in Nashik)
I was using yamaha Libero at that time. I planned, re-planned and zeroed on something pleasurable for ride conditions. I brought Electra-5s and ...
I guess nothing to say more, any person who had ridden a Bullet needs no words thereafter.
No race-to-no-where, no hurry-no-worry, something to catch me off-guard from so-called-sautan (by my better half, computer). I start the engine, hear my heart thump, engine come alive..
Bullet, Nothing else will ever do...

                    bike - rtr refresh(yellow)

reason- reminds me of the first time when i had a glance of a rtr on road.it just made me crazy.before buying a rtr i never rode it.i just sat on it once to know the riding position.and man that felt awesome.
                    it became my dream
i had to buy it.i waited 3 years for it.(as i was collecting money to buy it on my own )
ok let me not get blown away in my memories.
the first reason was the killer looks. and then i happened to join xBhp read the ownership thread......and walah on 2nd April o9 i finaly bought it.

RX-135 1998 - Was in final year of college and finally the parents relented and agreed to help me get a motorbike, no second thoughts about what i wanted and no words to describe that beautiful machine.

Pulsar 180 - 2002 - By this time I had run the RX for 70k kms aprox and wanted a bike that had a bike feel and the Pulsar with it's sporty styling really caught my imagination, had the RX and the Pulsar for a awhiule but could not take's Mum's pressure anymore and sold of the RX.

Bullet Electra 350 - 2003 - Had a bad crash on the pulsar as I could never come to terms with her Front end and very soon the pulsar lost it's exclusivity and was fast becoming a junta bike. By this time my pulsar had lost a lot of the grunt it had when it was new and was just not giving me a happy feeling so I thought I ll be a bulleteer and got myself the Electra.

Yamaha FZs - 2009 - Decided I love sprots bikes and needed a sporty motorcysle and missed owning a Yamaha. Decided for the FZs over the R15 due to it's versatilty and of course the price factor. Sadly had to sell the bullet thanks to mum and her pressure really miss that baby but honestly I was never meant to be a Bulleteer or maybe i ll get another god willing and this time a 500.

Now saving for a used RX and a P220

The Stable - 2009 Yamaha FZS (Baby Beast) & 2010 YAMAHA YZF R15 (Anjuna Sunset).

Wishlist - Kawasaki Ninja 250r, YAMAHA R6 and Bullet standard 500 with the CI engine and a handpainted Goa Chic helmet.

                        My Love splendor

It started way back in 1993 where i learnt bajaj priya scooter which was a awesome scooter tough rigid and smooth on rides, though she is 30 + years old but still is smooth as a young bride , way back in 2001 i moved to a hero honda splendor, though i really loved the first batch of dark green color CBZ but again mileage was a issue for me as i had just started working that time, never the less i joined hands with my red splendor gifted by my dad and till date we have clocked more than 150000+ kms she never disappointed me by breaking down or got jealous on me though i keep on taking her for long rides of 200 + kms when i get a chance, taking test rides of other bikes, i thought of upgrading but only option i had was karizma and pulsar, pulsar i dont rely as its new and the big question is stability, karizma has to be refined out of the old looks and come with a powerful engine with som 300 +cc, after all just upgrading from 100 to 225 cc will be like a insult for me and my loyal bike. what say guys

                          Date-nov 2008
reason-I was more into long rides and the bike had to be comfortable for commuting too.Only one bike popped in my head.

Btw,i'm not allowed to use it since my accident. For the time being I'm using a cbz-x until i get my hands on a new steed...

                            Nice thread--Tazz,

we i got two bikes currently both from yamaha

                            1) Yamaha Enticer- for comfort, style , wanna be cruiser , though it's more of Commuta-Cruiser i say, but when it was launched it was head turner--i still remm many chicks saying hey look Harley davidson, I still own it been 7yrs 65K on dial and it still hits the ton mark easily. Yamaha always, has good torque spread across all 4gears.

                            2) R15 -Blazing red- Reason makes me feel proud to own one of the R series from Yamaha, having all the DNA from his big brother R1, and who said performance is not there, change every gear at 9500rpm and tell me abt performance, for a 150cc it runs like hell, and handling mind blowing --it takes you to a platform no bike in india can come close-- you need to ride it to believe it.

Awesome Sports tourer, 100kph at bearly 6800RPM, with still 3000rpm left in reserve for power and overtaking.

Mileage of 40 , what more you need --awesome Hats of to yamaha for making such product. the liquid cool engine is butter smooth and never says stop, you can do mile munching with this little baby from yamaha.

and for those who complained abt power --race kits are out let the funs begin.

It's a long story.. I started biking @ the age of 13. Since then I've been riding my papa's KH Marvel. In the mean time I completed my +2, Now the biker in me wanted to own a bike, but i kept it in my heart. Got admission for b.tech back in 2004, but no bike.. Now used to ride friends' bikes (POSERS, no one knows anything about bikes, every body owns a premium bike, and changes often, but that helped me to ride almost all premium bikes available in the country), My mind was going crazy, i want a bike , i want a bike, i want a bike, ...........................

Wallpaper's started to replace the paint of my room, computer's hard drive has filled with bikes, mobile phone started to emit exhaust sounds of huge inline fours, but still my garage is empty.

At 2007 parents decided to gift me a bike, unfortunately my health condition has gone wrong, so the bike's plan canceled, after one year's treatment and rest , me back into biking, But now the parents are struggling financially, so i cant push them, they said go and get a bike yourself after getting a job, meanwhile old Marvel's engine blown. now not a single bike, I dont know what to do, i was upset , no money to buy one, my nights were sleepless(really), I felt like I was alone in the whole world, Every body started laughing at me , they said "Bikeless BIKER" .. Oh!! god !!! that was embarrassing. 2008 gone..

It's now 7 years gone, still dont have a bike.....

I was dreaming about the R15 on every other day...

My choices where R15>ZMA>RTR>UNI>GLAD>LIBERO>CD deluxe, or used Rx series/ CBZ/UNI/ZMA etc depending upon my budget.... I dont want pulsar....

                              2009.... ....

at January my uncle gave me a new Passion + , the sticker maniac.. I kept it like a baby for two months and later i returned it...Again no bike....

I was going mad . i made scale models and played with them...

on the July 1st I got a small job, Now parents told me to buy a bike, they offered me the initial payment, max 20K (have to return it) , I was on cloud nine.. I went to YAMAHA showroom, unfortunately R15 needs 45K, Fazer needs 31K, FZ-S - 30K, then to Honda, same story...

So the quest for a new bike ended up.... Now started searching for a used bike... Choices are RX-series and CBZ (both fits my budget). I visited more than 20 used bike showrooms... Found some CBZ's but all are in bad condition, although considering the maintenance cost and availability of spare parts, i turned to RX series, Here @ my city, each and every RX is costs around 20-30K. One dealer asked 50K for a RX-100, even the ZMA next to it costs only 48K.. after searching for days, I found a 95 model RX100 for 21.5K , fully stock, well kept bike..

On July 25th of 2009, at 1.00 PM, my dream came true (After waiting for about 8 years) .. I bought it.. Now I have a legend in my garage......

                              This is my story.......

                                my bike---THE FZ-16

reason---its my first bike (i rode an activa earlier......so i wanted it to be a torquey monster rather than a super-quick racer......coz in cities the latter will be a big problem(and also the R15 is a BIT expensive)......i considered my needs and pin pointed the FZ........fabulous styling.....unique.....150cc......decent mileage......superb ride quality and handling.......and yes YAMAHA!!!!!!
