hey congrats mate!!Originally posted by TNiranjanT View Posthey guys,
Just got my 180 back which is not exactly a 180
. It has a 200 piston and has also been ported. Total cost came to 8300/-, 4000 for spares and the remaining for labor.
Bike sounds great, exhaust note sounds better. Right now i'm in the run in period so not more than 4000 rpm for me
Performance wise I can feel the increase in torque and feel like the bike pulls better from as low as 2500 rpm. Visually, 4000 rpm on 5 th gear now translates to 54 kmph where as originally it was 49 kmph. Yes, he has gone for smaller sprockets at the rear and larger at the front. Bikes feel great guys i'm happy
would have been elated if it was not for the run in period
My apologies as my write up is not technical at all and is more in lay man terms. Wish I could better explain the work that has gone in. I'm learning it from my mechanic actually. Probably I could give a detailed post then.
Ride safe!
Cheers
Btw thats approx. 4k for labour!!!!!!
that piston has been ported matlab??!! i thought taht happend only in 2-strokes!? your sprockets have been custome made or dome bikes direct fit??
OT(maybe)
My bike had siezed a couple of weeks ago, got it checked and fized it for 3.5k. the mech has purposely left the tappet loose. saying that is for withstanding the harsh riding style. I always thought a 180 is a power segement bike and was meant for riding qucik!..anyways now the bike seem to keep pulling back as unleash the throttle. It feels like the bike will jus seize again if i push it harder. otherwise the bike has done 129 on a gradient was rev happy when i cruised at speeds above 112 km/hr. the tappet logic is bothering me...any clue on that one...?

great job there..about the tyres i would never trust a non branded tyre. THats coz i always tour at high speeds.( above 90-95) dont want my tyre to go kaput!....

it was quite simple....
when i went to the shop.. he was doing a std t'bird seat....
i saw that and said i want it exactly like that....
so he opened up the seat, stuck some more foam from the centre, all the way to the sides...
he spent about a good 1 hr on it...
i had specifically told him to incr its width, and to cushion the seat
as regards the tyre...
it seems good to me....
i have done 100+ on it now..
and some more ppl i know have the same tyre...

thts nice.. i did get the foams changed too.. but i didnt really widen it.. just softened it a lil more..
way better than before.... but planning to shape it out to something like a perfect curve to fit me exactly.. as on every bump i'm moving forward to the tank..
cheers

Hi Natthu....
a quick question....what all mods are required to fit a 140/70 -17 tubeless tyre in Pulsar180 UG3.
I mean changes to swing arm & chain cover removal are necessary?
What would be the cost for a new MRF 140/70-17 tyre?Bikes Owned:

@ abdelazeez: I met the shopkeeper yesterday and inquired about the rear tyre.Originally posted by abdelazeez View PostMy questions exactly! Natthu, would you please be kind enough to reply?
He said 140-17 is a straight fit but chain covers need to be removed and might be a bit of swing arm mod wud be required, he advised me to go for 130-17 as that was straight fit without any changes.
If required u can get a bit of chain cover cut from inside where the tyre makes a contact. Removing chain cover as he said wud increase the maintenance and decrease life of chain.Bikes Owned:
