    @ Copla,

To me the bajaj center in chennai is a load of bs man! the only reason i stuck with them for the first 2 years was my fear of loosing out on warranty and true to my fears my digi console and silencer went kaput. Replaced them free of cost and made 6500/- on my warranty

But after the 2 years, i havent been anywhere near those hell holes. Thoguh i'm not too sure off the situation in Blore.

      @ Shadez,

NGK cost me 1100 while KN 1060 RC cost me 1700. This was a year and a half ago. Prices should have dropped. Check out Hardeep if you are in chennai.

Shadez: the profile u saw was mine, but not the Blue Pulsar in the pic. Mine is BLACK.
I was seriously thinking about putting NGK and K&N because i read that Iridium Spark plugs help ignite a leaner fuel+air mixture easily and after fitting the K&N and without re-jetting, the mixture becomes LEAN. so i thought it wud go hand in hand..
But ur mileage figures are shocking dude... I'm already getting only 35kmpl from 44kmpl suddenly for some reason i dunnno...
The best part is that i use only SHELL SUPER. and still the mileage drop.
ANy of u guys using CASTROL POWER 1 RACING? I am planning to service my bike tomorrow and put this engine oil.

Is this true?? Does installing K&N without rejetting but with NGK plugs solve the problem of the bike running lean??

well its nothing to do with the spark ...

lean mix = lean mix, doesnt depend good spark or so-so spark.

install a K&N and you may have to upjet, i didnt have to cause the bike's running a mixture on the richer side. its on a 115 uni's main jet though.

if you run it lean, itd result in valves and piston rings (or maybe even the piston) getting screwed prematurely. i had to change my valves and rings ...

its better to run the bike rich than lean.

            Hi guys,

I have just installed Xenon HID's on my UG3 2 days ago. There are a couple of issues here. My mechanic could not integrate the controls for the HID's into the normal switch gear and had to provide me with an alternate switch, separate & drilled into the front cowl, as he says that the normal switch gear does not support DC connections.

Only the HID's running now which means I have 1 beam, no high or low beam. This attracts a lot of stares and choice expletives from fellow commuters on the road as this thing is bl%^&y bright.

I had purchased the Chinese make Xenon lamps in GP Road Chennai, the same one Praful had suggested. I couldn't get the Phillips HID's as they are releasing only after the 22nd of January and I could not afford to wait that long. Also the price of this unit has fallen to 2000/- and I felt it was a good buy. BTW this HID is meant for cars, they are H4 with 8000k rating, at least that is what it said on the box.

Now I need to have a low beam halogen lamp also installed and integrate it into the normal low beam switch as it was previously and activate the HID's from another switch placed close to my thumb which would be some thing like a push switch. I would like to know what other members running this unit have done?

Also the horn seems to sound a lot more feeble when the HID's are switched on. I will put up a couple of picture later.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

            Cheers,
            Niranjan

The front tyre is in a availability crunch throughout the country, you might not get it soon. Btw, why are going for a 90/90 front?
In pune.. 90/90-17 Tubless Zapper FS cost 1250 in pune.
fitted it a week back in my P150/UG3.

what your mechanic said is right.
HID kit cannot be integrated into the current handle cluster since it is more of a single digital unit. even if you break your horn switch or something, you will need to replace the entire kit.
and instead of drilling it in the front cowl, you can fit a metal clamp on the handlebar next to your left hand controls. that way it is easier to operate. i am at office so cant get you a pic now.

now, it isnt possible (as far as i know) to add another halo bulb into the dome. if you need another halo then you could have got a HID dual.
i too blew up my hal bulb and now what i plan is to get a projector kit and install HID in it and go for the normal bulbs fitted in dome. but for that too, i am having problems getting the right stuffs. no, i dont want to fit 220 dome or something. wanted the existing dome to be as is and get a seperate projector kit.

anyways good luck to you and keep away from cops!

Edit: yup the horns are very feeble and also, the little LED's in the handlebar cluster also go very dim. and i got a H7 8000k HID so no problem with the fittings and if it is for car et al...

                  hey buddy,

HID dual is around 13000 k not worth the moolah, according to me. That's why I had suggested to my mechanic to use a halogen lamp for the low beam and HID for the high beam.

Could you please explain the projector kit project Would love to try it out too. How does it work?

Does that mean right now you are also running on the HID alone at the moment?

13k ?! damn man. thats way too expensive. i bought mine for 7k. yeah alrite that too is expensive. but i wanted the halogen bulb also since i saw once a cars HID being hit by cops near Shivaji Nagar, Bangalore.
but now that its blown, i am in the same boat as you are!

the projector kit is well something like a mini dome. something like a smaller but bit elongated 'rickshaw' dome! yikes yikes. but yes i did see something like that on the net sometime back. looks neat.

What I had in mind was to use the Halogen for city use and the HID's for highway use. That way if I where to see any cops on the road, from about a mile back with my HID, then I could switch back to the halogens!

Also for me, the passing lever is very important as I use it often when I overtake and with just one single beam that was not possible. Hence the need to go for a halogen.

BTW, you got any links on that projector kit thingie?

                        ^ same with me too.
am not able to trace out the one i was talking bout. but its something like this:
                        PIAAlights
something small but good enuf to clamp in.

and i guess you can sacrifice on using the pass switch now. hit HID once and even truckers would give way

after having spent 2500 INR just now on these lights, I'm not too eager for a replacement already probably I will try and work a way around this when I give my bike for service next Tuesday.

Dude the P200bore+piston kit should cost you no more than Rs2500...Ive done the mod jus recently about a month or so ago...!! infact i got my head ported and polished(well it was more of a blueprinting job) and the whole thing cost me only 5 grands..so think about the mech who told you 12K n all..that is waaaay too much....n as apar said the 220s kit is no straight fit..what I'd suggest though is that you get the 200's kit and install the crank from the 220..basically upping your cc's to about 215 or so...but then be advised,ul loose out on rev characteristics...as in..the bike will tend to behave more like a cruiser rather than an out and out screamer..!! and as for the HID,i met a guy a few weeks back who had one on his RD350 and said it cost him about 2.5K...but I was told that the HIDs is not a direct fit on the pulsars...cos it needs DC..!! goodluck with your mods..let us know when you've completed it!! cheers
