the 90/90 tire is a direct fit in the stock mudguard and there is plenty gap between the brace fender and the tyre , for the 120/80 (dunlop i suppose) it will be better to remove chain cover else no problems

Stick to the stock tyre size in the front , ele turning ll be difficult. Have a smaller front.

2.75-18 or 17 Ceat Secura zoom is the best . Or else get the r15 FRONT TYRE.

I am running 90/90*17 for front tyre on my P150 UG3. direct fit..
            changed it on Jan02, 2009.

handling/cornering is superb.. however on speed > 80-90 getting a little more viberations.. earlier used to feel them close to 95-100..
but not sure, maybe it's just me..

              hey guys,

I have been hearing a lot about porting and how it takes a bike's performance to the max etc Anyone here who can shed some light on how it really works? What does this process involve?

                hi there ppl...

although i knew abt xbhp and its threads, i joined the community late, coz i didnt know that discussions were running so deep! impressive ... i was hooked on to orkut comunities which shed some lite on the issue...

its gr8 to read so much of valuabl data about ur bike....
i really didnt kno that a p200 engine is a direct fit... and it doesnt need the oil cooler as well

i have a pulsar black 180 UG III... tooo new.. done just 2k now...
had a pulsar blu 150 UG I...which i sold off...
although the bike is gr8 ... just one prob, for which i have taken the pains of going thru this 10 page post in one complete go... but still not found anyone asking abt it..
                so here goes...

have any of u experienced the classical.. "sore bottom"....after riding the pulsar for more than an hr? or may b 40-50kms...
i mean it was probably the no1 reason for me to have sold off the prev p150... which had done only 12k....and was in a gr8 condition....

i live in delhi.. and in karol bagh it seems that anything to everything can be done...
for my last bike (p150 UG I) to avoid the sore bottom effect.. i got 120/90-18 Vee rubber tyres, stock shocks of the UGIII.... tried the "custom" split seat of p200 which most seat wallahs are able to make...even all that money, but no solution!

and now even on the new p180 UG III i got an extra layer of cushioning for the seat.. which has softened the seating posture.. but the sore bottom still sets in after the 1hr/50km ride...
this has become such a prob for me now that i am actually contemplating selling this off!!

some one here has to has to please help me out...
                1. what is the solution to the sore bottom effect?
                2. have u also experienced it..
                3. if yes what mod have u got done
                4. is the p200 seat beter/wider, by which this can be minimised.? and can it be directly fitted on the 180....
                5. are cruiser bikes like the t'bird / avenger more comfy on seats? and can they be fitted...

this prob is so grave to me that i am not even looking at my bike for the regular city rides.. forget tours/trips....
and it is giving me night mares... i love to ride.. specially with gr8 roads in delhi like the nh8 del-ggn expressway....

some one plz help out on this....with so much of minds here i am sure some one can give me a solution ....

i wud be in chennai in about 15 days time...
if i can get some spares from there... that cud b gr8 too
hope my biking days improve !!

probably you should add some padding to your a%s?

Its just your limits of enduring pain bro. I too get a sore a%s 1 hour into a long ride. Shift your position it helps. Probably try and focus on the riding and shut out the pain. It helps me

I'm quite surprised that even city riding is troubling you? It wouldn warrant a doctor check up for sure

                    • guys....
                      not many attempted!
                      nevertheless... thanx for that input...
i know its my fat a@% thats aching!
btw can some one confirm if the seat of the p200 (original) is more
wider than that of the 180.... i just have a feeling (and u know where that feeling is ;-) . .... that if the seat is WIDER... may be it wud be more comfy...
secondly... can the p200 seat be fixed on the 180....

i have thought about the "modified" p200 seat for the 180..
its basically just the 180 seat which is cut by shopguys!

                      try guys try!!

                      • No. All the pulsar seats are more or less equally slabs of marble. In short horrible.
I have put in 2 layers of foam. cost me 250 bucks. Can get it done from a local seat cover maker.

                          • hey guys,
Just got my 180 back which is not exactly a 180. It has a 200 piston and has also been ported. Total cost came to 8300/-, 4000 for spares and the remaining for labor.

Bike sounds great, exhaust note sounds better. Right now i'm in the run in period so not more than 4000 rpm for me

Performance wise I can feel the increase in torque and feel like the bike pulls better from as low as 2500 rpm. Visually, 4000 rpm on 5 th gear now translates to 54 kmph where as originally it was 49 kmph. Yes, he has gone for smaller sprockets at the rear and larger at the front. Bikes feel great guys i'm happy would have been elated if it was not for the run in period

My apologies as my write up is not technical at all and is more in lay man terms. Wish I could better explain the work that has gone in. I'm learning it from my mechanic actually. Probably I could give a detailed post then.

                            Ride safe!
                            Cheers

                            • me was wondering guys,

How does the "rev - limiter" on the latest iteration of the Pulsar work? It does not seem to be a rev-limiter in the actual sense of the word as it does not limit the rev, it only blinks and warns the rider. But apparently after blinking 3 times it limits the engine revs. This has happened to me randomly though, the engine rev limiting i mean. Sometimes it just blinks and then does not bother me.

Can the other UG owners please enlighten me. Also I requested the Bajaj guys to over ride this functionality but they said it cannot be done.

                              • slabs of marble!!
it quite well defines the comfort of the seat in the pulsars!
after having banged my head... butt i mean ...
on these slabs, and having tried to get the answer to the question....
on getting a more comfy ride...
i finally took all this enegry inside me to the famous backstreets of karolbagh in delhi, and spent the better part of the last sunday at the local "seat expert"guy... explained him the whole situation.... and let him work...

believe me ppl... me seat is now WIDE... than what it initialley was...
and when put under a measuring tape.. it was more than the thunderbirds too .... after which i shed the stock rear zappers.. and went in for a 140/70-17 tyres.... some taiwan/vietnam brand.....

                                then rode back home...
the initial diff seems to be there... seat being more wider offers better grip to u know what.... and the tyre seems to be better at taking the bend, turns.. and also more comforting....

i dunno if we can put pics here... wud love to show u guys my well spent sunday!
