^ uh its visible mate. have uploaded pic to xbhp albums itself so it should be there.
all i did was, instead of putting it next to speedo panel, i pulled wires to handlebar and put in a switch there to operate.
      btw... ur pics awaited!

hey guys i've a '07 pulsar 180 done 36000+ km and the bike doesnt feel like as it used to. its acceleration & top speed have dropped severely. my mechanic told me that the piston needs replacement....so i was thinking whether i could use a pulsar 200 piston kit in my bike please suggest

a problem everyone with all who picked up ug3 when launched.
remember mate, your bike has done 36k. accl, topend, mileage... everything would drop.
have you decarbed it? checked with CBZ?

200 kit is a retrofit so you can easily get it done. but what would you do bout the heat? if you are a tourer(which i guess you are), you dont want your bike to cieze(hw do you spell that?) do you?

anyways if you are going for it post in the details and pics... cheers.

my bike still does better than a 150 on city roads but after 95kmph it speeds very slowly and 107-8 is the deadline.but the main point is my bike's rpm never goes above 10000 even in neutral

well i was also thinking about the overheating issue. expert advice would be appreciated

exactly my point of view now shadez,

a stock engine on a 180 with K&N and NGK spark plugs seized on me. I agree I was running lean and at high speeds etc

I do not want an excuse for another seize the next time i'm touring. The last time I had one I had company. I would rather not go through the hassle when i'm touring alone. So personally, i'm going back to stock setup and not getting a 200 bore+piston done on my bike.

^ yeah i did see that. i too believe its because you were running lean. but the point was said so didnt want to enter the heat. 15k is way huge mate. check check check...

                    bout 200 kit, think this:
                    1. UG3 generates more heat than its predecessors.
                    2. 200 was a surprise. BAL was delaying 220 launch and since they wanted to play the cards good, they launched 200 which is a good mix of 220 and 180.
200 takes the same block engine from 180. but with 19cc extra bore, you get 1.5 extra bhp. also taken down is the exhausttec, dtsi, etc. but more heat and hence oil cooled system taken from big brother 220. but 180 is air cooled!

if you are a city rider and use the right oil, this mod would be good. its a retrofit anyways. but on long highway runs expect trouble.

my mileage and top end whack has also dropped. a decarb of engine would help. check sprockets. check timing. also am changing engine oil from 300v to 5100gt.
am fedup spending so much moolah on my ride. a bloody damn SBK might not eat up this much money i guess!

^^I just dont get it from where ur all taking proofs and concluding that 200 generates more heat than 180. I have stressed this time and again. Both me and Santa were using the 200 setup on our bikes. Me on my P150V1 and he on his P180V1. I have done non-stop trips to Bangalore atleast 4 times with that setup(once in around 4 hrs IIRC). FYI, I was running 210 psi compression. Santa was running higher as he had chopped the head by 0.5 mm. And for the last time THE SETUP DOES NOT GENERATE EXCESS HEAT. Heck, even the MT-01 does not use any damn oil/water cooling man. BAJAJ cools the oil on the 200 cos its run super-lean to improve efficiency. Want proof? Get the 200's main jet and the 180's main jet. Check their sizes and u will be surprised!!!! So for the last time do not complain about over-heating on a 180 or due to mods. Run them stock, use proper oil and keep changing the oil. Ur good to go anywhere(even if u fix the 200 kit)....

^^ great; thanks. right from the people who have done it helps. yup remember santa mentioning it; now. but i do remember venu sir telling me bout the heat last year, this time, so i said.
let me be blant stupid; you mentioned 150v1 and 180v1. whats the difference to ug3 engine in terms of heat?

what i am looking for is to get my bike back in shape wrt mileage and topend. guess the same with niranjan this time.
so, would getting the carb fixed help? check timing maybe? front sprockets?
proper oil? whats your opinion on 300v? and 5100gt? or rollback to stock do we?
anything else that can be done?

also, how good would fitting a proton or tetrac exhaust help?

                          lots of questions ...

Hey aparajit/prashant, would u guys mind sharing the parts to be included for the modification (obviously apart from the block piston).. I will check out the cost factor here, coz it will differ...Btw wats the size of 200's main jet??

Btw i have ended up spending more than 20k on maintaining my bike !!! covered 40k kms in 2years....1 bad crash.........

@Niranajan..i am running on a stock 180 ug3 only with a K&N, wonder how and why did your bike seize?? was it for 1 of the reasons below??
                              1. Less/No oil?
                              2. redlining constantly with less oil?
