Unable to find balancer gear for my 180 classic, new model gears dont fit pls help !
Hi guys i have a unique issue with my bike and i was wondering if any of you experts can help me .I have a 2002 pulsar 180 cc bike and i have been regularly servicing it since the past 14 years . Off late when i gave the bike to sai service they say the balancer gear needs to be replaced and that the new part will not fit the old bike . Has anyone managed to fit the new balancer gear with the plastic gears on a 180 classic ? if so how ? the bike vibrates like crazy and its not ride able . i would have to scrap it because of this one part .
any help would be appreciated or if u know a good pulsar mechanic .
Thanks

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Ill better fo to a mechanic than screwing it up wrong [emoji12] suggest me a mechanic near me i live in chembur mumbaiOriginally posted by Pranav19 View PostIt is more or less trial and error, it is around 2.5 turns from full close. Keep the setting and check the spark plugs after driving few hundred km they should be brown in color not black or very clean.
Alternatively you can go to a service center which has the CO testing machine and get it tuned from them or an experienced mechanic.

Hello Sagar,Originally posted by Sagar_55 View PostOhhh i got it but suggest me how many times to turn it and how will i get to know when its perfect
I too got my P180 fitted with K&N, tried to adjust the AFR screw myself but ended messing things up. You better take your bike to an experienced mechanic, or else you might damage the engine. And finding such a mechanic won't be an easy task. BTW I don't find K&N any good, it just makes the bike more maintenance hungry. Would perform well initially but would deteriorate over time. I am planning to move back to the stock air filter.

Turn the AFR screw anti clock wise to let more petrol in.

Re: Pulsar 180 ug4 k&n
The problem should be with the carb jet. Upsizing jet means you buy a bigger sized jet for main jet and tune the carb accordingly. Until this is done properly, the bike will not perform as earlier. BTW, k&n allows more dust into the engine along with air which can ruin the engine earlier. Stick to stock for best performance/reliability combo.Originally posted by Sagar_55 View PostHello guys i am new here i recently installed k&n air filter in my old filter box bike sounds good but it doesn't gain top speed before installing k&n my bike used to reach 129 kmph but after installing d filter it does not go above 112kmph i read some articles in which it was stated that we need to up jet i said the mechanic to upjet the main jet he removed that jet and did something to it to make it bigger but still my bike sucks at top speed he said the problem is in my clutch plate so i changed it and brought a genuine one but still it doesn't gain its top speed help me soon

Re: modification of my pulsar 180
Well the rear shock absorbers of new 180 are a bit taller in compared to the older ones. I have 2010 model and now in 2015 when I got new rear shocks, there was a difference of around 1 inch in the height of the shock absorbers, so the height will get increased by 1 inch if you get the new ones. Price of the pair is 1600rsOriginally posted by jegadish7 View Posti own pulsar 180.my height is 6ft 4 inches.please suggest me how to increase the height of bike so that i ride comfortably.can i replace the shock absorber with mono suspension for better looks. suggest me some modification to increase looks like modifying petrol tank, headlight, silencer, i reside in chennai.also suggest me where i can do these modifications.thanks a lot
The other method is to go to a local place where modifications are done and they can help you with anything
P.S. First compare the height of your shocks with the new ones, then decide
That's all I can help you with
P.S.S. Do one thing ask the same question in pulsar 220 section and pulsar 150 section, there are more members there and you will get multiple suggestions
