For the loss of air pressure. I had gone back to the MRF dealer and it was found that the Valve was faulty, i.e. it was leaking air from the place where the valve meets the rim. The value was replaced. Till now I have not been loosing air. So It was not a puncture.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
My original rear stock tyre which came with Activa, were tubeless MRF 90/100-10 Zapper, but they lasted only 12000 kms. The central groove line had literally vanished. My original front stock tyre still has life in it.Originally posted by s1d View Post

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
Your scoot needs a through inspection and service..these are the things to be checked and cleaned/replaced as required:Originally posted by PeasantCommuter View PostHello, I have an old Activa (2006 or 2007) and it's completely lost its peppiness, the kilometring is quite low considering the age ~25K
The problems I face are:
1. At the first start of the day the scooter usually doesn't stay running after starting unless I give it a mild throttle stimulation or use the choke and even then it'll shut off sometimes and then it needs both the choke and accelerator though having to use both is very rare.
2. The scooter throttle lags heavily for a while when using after the initial start of the day but subsequent usages the throttle is fine. Like you know, you slow down to take a corner and then get back on the throttle and you get nothing for a few seconds and then it comes back.
3. The pickup is basically dead, with a pillion I have to twist the throttle fully to get it moving and then I can roll off after its in motion.
Is there a way to make it peppy again?
1. Carb - disassemble clean and retune correctly.
2. Valve clearances - check and adjust to spec
3. Open left side casing, disassemble, clean and inspect the variator rollers, drive belt, clutch shoes, springs, belt, face plate, clutch bell. replace if any of them seem to be worn out (especially the rollers if they have excessive flat spot, and the clutch shoes if their material is worn out). put them back together making sure NO grease is used on the rollers.
4. New Air filter (probably the cause of the hiccup in throttle response), and also clean the secondary air filter (sponge type located on the rhs)
5. Fresh engine oil and gear box oil
5. correct tire pressure.
so you replaced the original intended tube type tire with tubeless?? you actually have an option in appolo for a tube type tire with similar tread pattern.. i am using it, pretty good imo.Originally posted by addverma View PostSo I got my rear tyre changed on Honda Activa with MRF 90/100-10 METEOR M - TL. The stock tyre had to be changed after crossing 12000 kms. I wanted better grip on semi gravel roads and pothole filled roads of my area. My first choice CEAT GRIPP was not available in tubeless variant. Meteor M is a tubeless variant. The cost was Rs 1500 including GST and fitting charges. The Valve was not changed as the dealer said that there is no such problem in the valve

The problem is that now I am loosing air pressure very fast. In the morning I fill it up at 36 psi. By the time evening the pressure is about 29 psi. and by the day after in the evening it is about 9-10 psi.
now coming to your issue, hopefully it is not a puncture.
Try to get the tubeless valve and see if that helps and also check around the rim if it is sealing properly. otherwise you need to put a tube in.
go back to the dealer and get it fixed.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
some svc's might refuse to use the oil you provide, while some won't create a fuss. if you have a good rapport with them, you could easily have them use the oil of your choice.Originally posted by SubhashGowda07 View PostMy dio 2nd service is nearby and I'm thinking to switch the engine oil to motul, will it void warranty ?
another thing you could do is, in case the scoot hasn't racked up sufficient km, maybe you could ask them to skip the oil change.. and later on change the oil yourself or from a local mechanic with the oil of your choice.

Well it turned out to be a lose wire, the light is working fine nowOriginally posted by s1d View Postthen it must most likely be the hs1. why dont u first remove the headlight bulb and check it before buying one. pretty easy to get the bulb out.
old model activas/dio's came with a ba20d bulb.

Re: Honda Dio, Activa and Aviator
make sure you are not riding with the choke.Originally posted by yieldway17 View PostHello friends, I'm new to this forum but have been a reader for sometime now.
I have an Activa 125 and I have this problem recently that the scooter switches off on idle (especially when headlights are on) unless accelerator is kept given lightly. It's kind of annoying when waiting at signals.
Engine oil replacement is due and will be doing it shortly but not sure it's related. Or is this problem related to clutch? Should I check for clutch shoe wear and rollers wear?
this wouldn't be caused by clutch shoes or roller wear.
start off by just increasing the idle a wee bit using the idle adjustment screw on the carb and observe how it behaves.
if that doesn't you might need to clean the carb and readjust the idling setting.

otherwise you might need to get the valve clearances adjusted, provided the carb setting ok.

i think the aviator uses the 35/35W HS1 type bulb. do check the manual or the old bulb. which yr model is your aviator ?
you could go upto a 40W but i would risk plonking anything higher than 40W
bulbs from bosch are also a good choice

Using this for a while now, the output is just leagues ahead of what the stock 35/35 is capable off.Originally posted by Saksham Verenkar View PostThe headlight bulb of my avaitor has conked off and am looking for new bulb. It's more or less a direct fit.
Fellow enthusiasts have used it without issues on the Activa.
