I have Fz-16 2013 model and 47k on odo and did ontime service and bike is silk smooth not gave any troubles till date and from last few month ma facing issue like below
1.Acceleration is too hard and pulling like 100cc bike
2. Swtiches are not working properly
3. Lowbeam is not working
4. Brake pads are good and may need a replacement
5. am getting less then 25kmpl in bangalore city traffic
Last time when i asked with SVC they told me most of the engine parts needs to replace and cost is around 20-25k. Need a suggestions like what all things needs to replace and what will be the cost so bike may feel like new.

Well, I'm not the one who owns the FZ.Originally posted by Prithvirajmn8 View PostDo not over size front tyre. It will effect the distance and speed calculated on the Speedo meter.
Anyway, It will affect the readings, but it's upto The_supersic, who asked the question.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-13-2018, 12:32 PM.

Check your swingarm bearing and alignmentOriginally posted by Nanda SS View PostHi all,
I bought a preowned Yamaha fzs, 2014, 17200kms last week from my neighbour.
He went to china for 4 yrs for his company work, and i saw he used his bike continuosly, so i bought that with confident.
I changed fz with new engine oil, Motul 20w50 (1 liter -- and i have to pour another 200ml today or tomorrow for changed the oil filter
), New oil filter, spark plug and air filter, drive chain was cleaned and lubricated and slack adjusted by myself.
By outer look it feels well maintained
and by internaly after using a week i found more vibrations in foot pegs and tank bottom area
, which we used to hug our thighs while driving.
Any suggestions welcome......

If you're fine with oversizing, there are a lot of options in 110/70.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes. I went to north sikkim twice, and the roads here in WB are hell in monsoons, also places are prone to leaks for industrial areas.Originally posted by Prithvirajmn8 View Post3 sets of tyre in 50k kilometres[emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33]
Stock front replaced at ~25k, then 2nd one at ~48k, running on 3rd.
Stock rear at 16k, then at ~40k, running on 3rd.

3 sets of tyre in 50k kilometres[emoji33] [emoji33] [emoji33]Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostJust crossed 50k in odo day before yesterday. Still it is going strong.
So far replaced or repaired:
1. Clutchplates assembly once.
2. Intake & Exhaust valves once.
And, other consumables like Brake pads, cone sets, fork oils, three set tyres etc etc.
Now, bike is giving white smokes only when the bike is revved hard in cold (I saw it today in SVC). Cylinder Piston Piston Ring needs replacement.
Suitable engine oil in which the engine felt responsive is Motul 300v 10w40, and smoothest in Motul 5100 15w50, so far.
Iridium plug (NGK CR8EIX) made the engine more smooth and a slight urgency in throttle response.
Also the michelin pilot street 140/70 r17 made the bike a little more speed in a gear than before. And, 15T front sprocket from Yamaha R15 v2 made the bike a little more relaxed in highway 95-100 kph cruising, but replaced with stock for struggle in city rides.
Overall a good reliable machine from yamaha. Planning to give it to my friend as I upgraded my ride to R15.
Here are very few memories with that machine. Hope you guys like the very small ownership experience.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks. Checked with mechanic and confirmed ok.Any link to Fzs WhatsApp group?Originally posted by dantisjoeshaji View PostNope. I bought a 3 year old perfect condition bike for 40k. And get a mechanic along to check before buying the bike.

Thanks. No white smoke coming from exhaust. Mechanic says I can buy and that engine is in good condition.Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostNo. Burgain for less than 40k. If white gray smoke is coming from the exhaust while revving, it means piston rings, cylinder bore & piston are damaged, it can also damage the valves & valve seats. The cost of repairing will go around 10k including labour costs.
