Difficult to get hands on any MRF. Most of them don't have them.Originally posted by S3maphor3 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
You don't need to fiddle with anything, just find the leak and replace the part responsible.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostNoted will check that. Bike was running fine but after the last service which this issue started. Strangely this issue does not showup when the bike is cold. But in heavy stop & go traffic this issue starts. As its a fuel injected bike so can't fiddle with the fueling system of my own as we can do with a carb.
Cold engine.
YouTube search WD40 Intake Leak and do some research before getting your hands dirty.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, help me out with tire choices. Currently on MRF Revz - M and the tire is absolute dead and needs immediate replacement.
Have seen following options:
Ceat Zoom XL - 140 / 70 17
MRF Revz - 140 / 60 17
Ralco - 140 / 70 17
Michelin City Pro - 140 / 70 17
Michelin PSR - 140 / 70 17 (out of budget)
Any reviews on above mentioned tires shall be helpful.
Not many options are available with tire dealers and most of them these options only. MRF FC1 / MRF FC wasn't available with anybody here in Mumbai.

Another symptom is raised idle as the motorcycle gets hotter.
Do a WD40 test to determine where the leak is at and replace component.

Yes, fz has far better refinement than hornet.Originally posted by S3maphor3 View PostNot to mention that it has an exceptionally smooth engine
, Regardless of how much you rev it. Coupled with decent fuel economy in real world driving conditions.

Another symptom is raised idle as the motorcycle gets hotter.Originally posted by Rajdip Saha View PostI am recently facing an issue, when the engine heats up in stop and go traffic the rpm gets stuck at 3k and slowly comes down to idle. The rpm swiftly rises and falls above and upto 4k but stops at 3k and gradually falls. I have changed my accelerator cable about a year ago and the accelerator cable is completely fine & has normal play.
When the engine is cold the fall from 3k rpm to idle is faster compared to warm engine. What can be the possible reason for this issue?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Surely you can go for the dual disk version.Originally posted by hemnath View PostGuys i am planning to buy the FZ-s dual disk version. I did a test drive on the bike, and i am comfortable with the bike. My previous bikes were RTR 160 and was searching for a good commuters bike. I am inclined towards FZ-s, and for my height (5ft 4in) i am comfortable in handling it.
Question here are
How is the reliability of the bike, can i keep it at least for next 3-4 years.
How is the low end torque of the bike, does it have enough pulling power, i usually drive in the speed range around 60-80
Does the bike develop any issues, after clocking 20k kms.
What are the flaws in the dual disk version of the bike.
How is the service experience from the Yamaha dealerships.
I have an fz V2 4 years old with 30k odo.meter.
Apart from regular wear and tear with regular service. No other issues face till date.
Major parts replaced are - chain speaker and back tyre.
Bike is reliable at any condition or environment

Yeah, it is like everywhere. Buy anything with cc and pay extra percentage.Originally posted by eliksir View PostDepends entirely on the dealer/showroom. I remember seeing 2% extra on CC somewhere, but then again, depends on the showroom.
While rest of the world pays moneyback/discounts on cc purchases, in india the buyer pays the penalty
Thanks btw

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
FI engines start trouble free in almost any surroundings , provided proper and timely maintainence.Originally posted by Jitendra47499 View PostThinking to buy fz s, as price is good in 150cc category.
Also, since all of you are very experienced with this motrocycle here- what are the major issues with the bike, if any
And, since it doesnt have a kick start, does the electric start give trouble. I live in high altitude where temperature gets very low in winters. Avenger 220cc gave me lot trouble or mostly didnt start at all. Thanks
