Thank you bro for this info .. I wasn't aware .. because yesterday I added some gear oil on the chain in the hope that it will solve the issue .. but I straight away started riding the bike .. I will make sure once I clean and lube the chain .. I won't ride and let the lube settle

I'll get back once I do this and report if my problem was solved.. maybe it'll help someone in future searching for solution to this problem

Can anyone confirm the reason for the quoted noise? After the first service I started having this sound from the chain. Previously the sound used to start at around 45kmph and then remained as I increased the speed. As soon as I slowed down below 45kmph the sound disappeared. First I thought maybe the SVC has overtightened the chain which might be causing that sound. So I got the chain loosed from outside and I think it helped a bit. I think the sound has reduced but still I could hear it. I have done around 1170 kms till now and got my chain lubricated from the SVC 3 times.

    I'm a fellow biker from Dhaka. I own a Yamaha FZ-S FI V2 (2017)

Previously I've owned a Honda CB Trigger and I wanted to upgrade, so I sold my old one and bought this one(picture attached). I'm absolutely shocked with this bike's performance. We don't have speed limit so high speeds is not a problem, but doesn't mean I do this unnecessarily, safe driving is always number one priority. But at times you do feel the need for speed where you want to push the limits. But for this bike, the performance is way too poor. My old CB Trigger was much much faster than this bike. Apart from the looks the I'm utterly disappointed with the performance of this bike.

So with few research I've decided to install/replace few things:

    1. Racing Coil
    2. Brisk Spark Plug
    3. K&N High Performance Air Filter

I've expected at least an upgrade of .5 kW from these 3 parts but alas.

The main problem is the bike's performance is very much unpredicatble. If I red-line(fuelcut) and shift at times I can reach 117kmph, notice that my 4th gear's max speed is 109. Sometimes even at red-line 4th gear's max speed is 91. This is very much confusing as I can't determine the factors that are affecting drastically my gear ratio by this much. Wind can be a factor but I don't think wind is effected by gear ratio. I'm fairly overweight of 98kg(s). But I'm always driving it, so weight can't be the factor once again and I never speed when I have a passenger with me, and the scenario's i've mentioned above is when I was alone.

What is the main reason for my bike to perform so inconsistently? I keep my tyre pressure of 35psi(front) and 43(rear), and I use Shell 10W40 Synthethic Engine oil. My bike's currently doing 9800km on the odometer.

Despite the performance upgrades I've decided to perform a drag race between another FZS FI same model and I find it that after 95 kmph I'm falling behind.

    Expert opinions needed.

    Thank you

First thing I want tell you you had a cb trigger which has a 14.35*bhp (10.70*kW) @ 8500 rpm engine and you are "UPGRADED" A FZS V2 which has 13 bhp engine!!!!

When ever you want to upgrade your bike firstly you need to know what is your current bikes spec sheet and then you need to look up to upgrade you want to go for.

V2 model is mainly built for the city traffic riding with a good milage and decent cruise on highway. how much ever modifications you do on it, it will only give you a mild difference on performance. Changing parts with warranty period will may cause you troubles..!

    Won't affect warranty.

KTM manual also mentions using gear oil for lubing, which also got O-ring chain.

I have heard that motul is good but at around 490 rupees its way too expensive for me.

Yeah, you can use 90 grade oil . Put it in a oil can and apply. I apply 140 grade oil with a toothbrush, it's very thick hence less spillage [emoji4]

Isn't the 140 oil much thicker than the 90 grade oil. Won't it attract more dust in comparison?
