I'm using Yamalube Optima, even though it is good but it can't be the same after 2000kms.
Could you please suggest me some good/best engine oil for FZ V2.0

Can some member from Delhi suggest a good mechanic who can perform the fork alignment menthod in this video:-

(the method which involves loosening of the front assembly and then pressing the front end a dozen times to straighten everything)

I think my forks are not parallel to each other and need to try this method but don't have the tools.

This would be my first post on Ownership Experiences after my introduction.

Currently I am owing Yamaha FZ-S Dual Disc since June 2018 which would complete its 1 year on June 15.
Till now I haven't faced any issues on the motorcycle except for few niggles which are common regarding loose bolts & chain adjustment.

Seeing discussion regarding engine oil my FZ-s (2018) was filled with Yamalube Synthetic Oil 10w40 (recommended oil for R15 & R3) since its 1st Free Service. Oil is ok for city ride & occasional revving , imo almost similar like Shell Advance Ultra 10w40 except for fact that motorcycle vibrates if driven above 5k RPM. Drain interval is around 3000 kms according to Yamaha. Costs around ₹450

Had tried Shell AX7 10w40 (Semi-Synthetic) once, didn't felt like Semi-Synthetic, felt like premium mineral oil & don't know why felt engine needed for oil change after 1500 kms. According to Shell's attendant oil could be stretched to 5k kms . Better to use Motul 5100 15w50 or Elf Total Moto 4 Roadster (Currently using on TVS Wego) which could be stretched to 3000 kms.

Currently driving on Yamalube Sporty Premium 10w40, thinking to switch to either Motul 7100 10w40/10w50 or Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w50 or Elf Total Moto Tech 4 10w50 (Could source Castrol & Elf from official distributors/dealer)!! If anyone have any experience with those then please share!!

Also is it necessary to pour Yamalube Carbon Cleaner in every service because here they pour at every service?? Heard fuel additives or Premium fuels also do same job!!

Yeah shell advance ultra has got many positive reviews dont know how it will behave with the FZ. Which oil you are using right now you mentioned yamalube but didnt mentioned weather its a sporty premium ( R15& R3 oil) or optima prime(the one which is generally used by the svc people in the regular service for FZ)
I have seen many owners even the youtube mentioning about their FZ engine noise.

With yamalube, u do feel the valve noise when the motor gets hot! And that's tolerable but with the Shell advance forget about the noise you don't even feel that smoothness.

And I'm taking about the Shell Advance not ultra.
For Ultra you need to pay 750+ which is costlier i think.

Ohhh thats strange what about the engine noise and refinement with the yamalube??
You mean YAMALUBE SPORTY PREMIUM or OPTIMA PRIME???
Is the shell advance semisynthetic oil??
I think shell advance ultra is a FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL from shell.
Even with the yamalube optima prime the engine looses refinement and becomes shit after some 700+ kms.

Short Review on Shell Advanced 10W40

Model:- FZS V2.0 2017
Milwage:- 20000+
After pouring this oil on my V2.0
Initial feel was smooth and crispy, but after riding it for 600-700kms i got to know the truth.

This oil is not for the FZ, it's only for the scooters and 125cc bikes.

It couldn't withstand in the day to day BENGALURU traffic.

After completing just 1000kms i switched back to Yamalube. And my bike got his charm back.

Yes you are right[emoji1303] just after the service the rear break started making noise. The carbon additive is from the yamaha but there are a couple of additives from liquimoly which are worth to try and they are reasonabley priced
Try them once you can feel the real smoothness from the yamaha engines.

if your bike was washed then that might be the reason for the noise.. i once did my washing from outside.. and my rear brake totally stopped working.. the bike would move with lever fully pressed.. and make a squeaking sound.. after a few days it got resolved on its own.. if you are having the same issue then no need to worry

which fuel additives? in my last service the svc people put some carbon cleaner in tank.. though i didn't feel any change.. i heard should be used in 3000 kms intervals

Bike is doing good 2 days back the 6th free service has done at the SVC this time filled the engine with the yamalube sporty premium.
The rear brake is emitting some noise need to check it.
You can try some fuel additives man which improves the smoothness and refinement levels.

bike is like before.. those issues i mentioned before are still there
1. engine roughness
2. rattling sound
3. hard gear shifts

only thing changed is i have started to accept them.. hoping bike would get better after the service i am planning to do next week.. also i am trying to build more kms on the odo.. currently i am on 1929kms.. which is i know too less..

what about your experience with the bike?

Ok how old is your bike?? Is it version 1 or 2??
Did u notice any tickling noise when the engine becomes hot apart from the roughness??
Tickling can be heared if you accelerate the engine at idle after engine becomes hot.


Wow so you had a RC 390[emoji1305] its the very powerfull bike man. Yes i also know that the engine at low speeds jerks and begs to revv hard [emoji16]. How is your FZ performing now??

No, I kept the Rc from 2015 to 2018.. around 3 years

I had the 390.. and you can assume the power it must be having.. apart from being uncomfortable.. the 390 engine isn't relaxed at all.. if you ride at lower rpms the bike would start to jerk.. so you would feel like the bike is asking to be ridden hard.. there is a feeling of urgency with that bike..

no criteria brother ,just noticed it.
While the clutch is pressed the engine sound changes and is more sweet and relaxed.
one normal bike sounds a bit rough.

Its not the idling sound. It comes when the engine becomes hot after a few kms drive.
Why would any body press the clutch while idling whats the criteria of doing it??
