My CBR250R fell in my parking lot. The gear lever is bent slightly. Was unable to shift gears yesterday. I straightened it out a little bit. I am able to upshift but not able to downshift. I don't know what is the problem here.
Can somebody shed some light on this issue.

    Thanks.
Check the entire linkage with the connecting rod. If the connecting rod is twisted or loose it won't shift up or down. Take it to your local mechanic, get the connecting rod checked and adjusted, it should solve the issue, if all goes well.

    Good luck.

    Cheers!

    None! Only CBR's will fit.

    Hey Everyone
Hope your all doing well, its been a minute since i posted anything on here. Just thought ill give you an update on my ownership of the bike which i purchased in 2014.
Soo far the bike has done close 80k km and have done a shim and valve check once and replaced the full clutch set +Clutch bell at 50 k km, other than just general service.
Just thought ill share some one the mods i had done on my bike.

1)Exhaust- I know ill get a lot of flak for this and its not even advisable but i went ahead and purchased CBR 250r one make exhaust which was used in the CBR250r one make series, understood these are made for the bike and in Thailand and have been using the exhaust since 50k km with a DB killer. The stock exhaust was just too silent for my liking, and this exhaust with a db killer is loud enough to let people know i am behind them but not loud enough to disturb public.

2)Airfilter- Went for the K&N replacement airfilter which costed me around 4500 in 2019, it was mainly purchased because i was running the exhaust

3)Aracer Rc mini 5 ECU- This mod i put on intially in the end of 2019 , and the covid happened, and then bike started developing electrical issues like draining or battery or burning of magnetic coil, Happened to me a few times, when i decided to swap back to my Stock ecu recently and considering a ECU reflash over the piggyback unit.
Coming to the performance, Bike definitely pulled a lot better at low end and mid and top end also felt a lot of eager. Bike did run a bit rich but i was pleased with the performance , even though i had not tuned it properly ,ideally should have been done on a Dyno but there were not any at that time. Soo may opt for a ECU reflash by moto tunes, pretty soon soo the bike runs healthily.

4)Suspension upgrade- This is one mod i feel i should have done ages ago , as it totally changes your riding experience, in terms of comfort and road feel and going over speed bumps and pot holes. I had installed the Zedlings after market suspension. The spring of the suspension is a bit taller than the stock one and was made as per my weight and height which i am on the heavy side. Definitely felt a immediate difference on the road, will be linking the suspension for the same, please note this is a lifetime purchase and the suspension can be reworked once its needed.

5)Tapper rolled bearings- This mod i had gotten from my factory where we work on a few race bikes, and its a replacement for the ball bearings we get in the stock setup. Upon installation, i can immediately feel the steering is a lot free than before ,and does not need much adjustment in the long run.

6)Fork inserts- This i had got from Thailand, had just intially put it to tighten the front end feel and reduce dive, but swapped back to stock because there was a leak from one of the inserts, can get it fixed and put back but may go for a front fork insert kit instead soo that my rear is complimented .

Will be attaching a few pictures below of the suspension exhaust and the ECU which has now been swapped back to stock. The aracer ECU i feel is better suited for track use, soo may decide to keep it when the day comes, i decide use the cbr only for track uptil then it will run on the stock ecu where i am exploring the possibility of reflashing the stock ecu itself

leech thank you for the picture, but anything more than 10% is definitely a worrisome.

@Avenger88 the part in question is the rubber coupler where the throttle body connects to the engine intake manifold. Any cracks or nicks here could hinder performance. This part won't be readily available in most places. Do DM me your number, I can try a contact of mine in KL and hope he can help.

    Cheers!

Here's a snippet from the CBR 250R manual

If you decide to use a petrol containing
alcohol (gasohol), be sure it’s octane rating
is at least as high as that recommended by
Honda. There are two types of ‘‘gasohol’’:
one containing ethanol, and the other
containing methanol. Do not use petrol that
contains more than 10 % ethanol. Do not use
petrol containing methanol (methyl or wood
alcohol) that does not also contain
    cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors for
methanol. Never use petrol containing more
than 5 % methanol, even if it has cosolvents
    and corrosion inhibitors.
The use of petrol containing more than 10 %
ethanol (or more than 5 % methanol) may:
Damage the painting of the fuel tank.
Damage the rubber tubes of the fuel line.
Cause corrosion of the fuel tank.
    Cause poor drivability.
Before buying fuel from an unfamiliar
station, try to find out if the fuel contains
alcohol. If it does, confirm the type and
percentage of alcohol used. If you notice
    any undesirable operating symptoms while
using a petrol that contains alcohol, or one
that you think contains alcohol, switch to a
petrol that you know does not contain
    alcohol.
    Hope it helps!

    Cheers!

I hear the government is planning to roll out E20 fuel from 2024. Can our CBRs take it without issues? The manual states dont use more than 20% ethanol mixed fuel. International versions of cbr250r have no issue with E20 fuel, i have read. Does same apply to our indian version?

Here's the difference between the stock handlebar and the RTR200 handlebar.

I had to change the clutch cable to that of a P220 and accelerator cable to a Karizma ZMR. The visor has to be trimmed from the sides as you can see the photo.

One major downside in my opinion is that there is only one bolt clamping the bar to the fork, which can potentially be dangerous. The stock handle has a protrusion which sits between the 2 "ends" where the top tee pinch bolt is, which stops it from rotating. Some people have drilled a hole in the top tee to fix the additional bolt which is present on the RTR200. More experienced members can probably comment better on this though.

In one word, don't. You're going to overload the alternator, kill the alternator or worse, you are going to ruin your RR. If you ruin the latter, god save you.

    Good luck.
