Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
hey bro how much did the exhaust cost you..?? is there any improvement in performance.?? and lastly how was your sandakpu trip man..?? heard that the road to sandakpu is much better now.. do share some pics of the trip man..Originally posted by Ming Bhutia View PostHi all,
I have been reading this thread for quite sometime. Interesting stuff. I thought I should also join and here I am. I love riding my Impulse and its one of the most interesting bikes that I have seen come in the Indian motorcycle market. I bought a pre-owned Impulse (for Rs. 55,000/-) and have been enjoying it almost everyday. I have added some stuffs to the bike to increase its utility.

that's a good idea bro..now finding a good condition cheap karizma is my step1 of the project.. he heOriginally posted by curse View PostI brought a used karizma for 20 k complete with insurance and valid documents. As you need lot of parts other than engine this is the simplest way.Took me a while to find a decent one at good price. As I own another karizma I can borrow some parts from this as Zma parts prices have increased these days.
and by the way after I find one.. can any of the local garage do the swap for me.. or is there any extensive mods or technicality involved? and one last query can I plonk the impulse engine in the karizma ?

Would love to have a more detailed video with actual ride footage and sound of the machine....
Also what did you do for the additional weight of the Karizma Engine??? I had read the bike tips forward a little due the added weight is it true? Did it affect the riding under various conditions???
I have lifted both engines while mounting and karizma engine is a bit heavier but not that heavy to affect the stance or ride at least I didn't feel any.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
I have done a couple of trips to leh on my Impulse. I don't think there is still a better suited bike for that terrain. However U need to figure out the jetting and air filter as you cross 10000feet. And U will find a number of working silns on this threadOriginally posted by kris123456 View PostRainy Potholed roads on impulse.... Lol. When everyone is riding while getting drenched in rain. you would be swimming in mud.
Do you know, That thing has the worst gear ratios ever for a 150cc. ATB Bud.
Going to Himalayas on that from Hyderabad. you better sell your home and keep cash handy for fuel. Riding that long on impulse at high RPM.. get prepped to buy a Petrol bunk on the way and be prepared to get the engine fixed.
Indian Junta are the most sensible of the world. That's why they buy tons of Activa's, which has the best ride and handling along with the best braking prowess in the segment with unquestionable reliabilty.

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
Yes i replaced the front n rear tyres last month before going to Pondicherry. Rear Tyre is 100/90 17 Zoom Plus & Front 90/90 19 Zoom Plus. Costed me 3600/- for both with new Tubes. I thought of going for similar semi-button design but to be honest i am tired of running after spares for Impulse. Mechanics/Shops act as if its an alien machine.Originally posted by addykted View PostYeah Surely will post them in coming days along with with structural diagram of the metal plates...
Your bike also seems to be sporting the Ceat road tires up front if I'm not wrong, just want to know which tire is at the rear
Will be changing my bike's rear Pirelli as it has now done 20000 kms in last 1 1/2 year but now thinking of buying a road biased tire as I don't do off-roading at all and use the bike as highway tourer

Re: Hero Impulse ownership experience
I second that!Originally posted by addyrulz01 View PostYou sir are absolutely wrong ! I hope you own an impulse and have written the comments based on your ownership. I just returned from my Spiti Trip and it was a bliss on the impulse. And yes, it was raining most of the time of the journey. This motorcycle eats off road like anything and is pretty stable on the highways as well. By the way, i was cruising at 90kmph on the highways with no issues whatsoever with the motorcycle.
With regards to the fuel efficiency, it is pretty efficient. From Chandertaal to Bilaspur which is a a good 300kms, i lost only 3 bars of fuel. And please note that half of the route is pure off road with no roads present whatsoever !!
