That was a little too direct, but I guess you're right.

At the least for the sake of reliability it would be best to go back to stock rather than trying hit and miss with the current setup.

Iam jeseel from kerala i had an yamaha fz bike.few years back i met with an accident from mysore and steel was inserted fully in my right leg so i had to take 8month bed rest after that i was not able to walk properly so i bought an access 125 later when my legs became all right i thought to take a bike but i was confused wich bike i should take many people said to take bullet but i went for impulse later i found that while long rides the power was not sufficient for the bike then i went to mysore and gave it for increasing cc he made it 180cc the initial was pretty much good but the top speed decresed to 80 the mechanic said its your bike problem the engine is perfect then i came back to kerala here my frirnd is a mechanic so he tuned the carburetor the carburetor in the bike was ns 200 carburetor but still missing he changed the carburetor and changed the jet size to 118 still missing but when he removed the pipe wich goes to the filter box from carburetor the bike is perfect so he said me tu put a k&n filter so he gave me a filter to use for 2days can u suggest me a good filter for the bike and can anyone help me about what is the actual problem of the bike.

I'd recommend not to buy from Amazon as they have a certain sort of fixation of charging twice as the usual cost. People succumbed to online armchair shopping fall prey to sites like these. Specially when it comes down to scarcely available things for ex Tyres.

Vee rubber is a good brand with lots of tyres. But they're on the softer side tending to wear out quick. A friend has those on his Impulse. IRC ones you can get from Delhi (the only place I know). I got few Vulcanduro sets prior to the RaidDeHimalaya last year.

Ceat is tough to find here and although available at Amazon, they aren't shipped to Hyderabad. A local tyre dealer is offering me the stock Ceat rear tyre and a Vee Rubber front in the same size as stock. Haven't seen the Vee Rubber tyre but the dealer claims it also has a dual purpose tread similar to the Ceat.

Timsun seems decent but same issue with shipping to Hyderabad.

Those are IRC tires.

Volcanduro 4.60-17 rear and 70/100 -19 front. Yaah Ceat ones tend to crack from the side walls. Witnessed the same on several other Impulse too. Not a thing though to worry about.

I'd recommend not go for these IRCs though. Ceat ones are best given the price they come for. Also I've been drooling upon these for tours and dual purpose riding

Anybody here using the raceconcepts big bore kit on their impulses? and/or any other related upgrades from raceconcepts ?
I may pick up an impulse belonging to a friend of mine, and he had the block piston replaced with that of the unicorn(engine had to be rebuilt after the 2015 chennai floods). He told me that the unicorn bore was a pretty straight fit. the bike has clocked around 10k km on the unicorn block (it is used roughly and ridden by different people) and he told me that now he is observing smoke.. he'll probably get that fixed. This guy is does not have much knowledge on the tech/mechanicals and trusts his mechanic with the works.
If i do pick up the bike (it will probably be for free ), I am looking to get it souped up a wee bit.. nothing dramatic though (forget swapping engines). I am a sucker for reliability.
So enlighten me on the raceconcepts stuff (if anyone has used it) and also about the general engine spares (gears, block/piston, valves, seals, carb) availability (or compatible spares from other 150's like the unicorn,cbz etc.. that share a similar motor)

@Ankitvile, what tyres are those? Just noticed large cracks on my front tyre sidewall, I guess both tyres need to be replaced.

Motocross typically wear out fast... I expected enduro's to last already 15-20k kms

Then he won't. A decent seller would have at least put in some efforts by this time. 6 weeks is along time. Try contacting over the contacts at IRC website. I'm sure they might throw in some help.

Btw my IRC ran out its rubber within 8000kms with 30% driven offroad. I found the tyres costly and not that economic given the terrains I drive on. Offroads they are awesome...and on tarmacs I've loved them too. Zero chicken strips several times on mountain twisties scraping footpegs even. No reason not to go for IRCs again apart from the price I have to put in every 8000kms or so. So I'm switching back to Ceat. 120 probably from the Himalayan.

Need help in locating a wheel truing and a reliable ceat tyre vendor in Delhi... Want to change my 17 rear to a Himalayan rear tyre before I embark on my leh trip... Any reference s I'll be much appreciated

XRE300 is basically a rumor as per now, nothing concrete by Honda, so no point in waiting for it. If you are on the verge of booking Mojo then go for it. Its a good mile muncher.
