I sourced a 1000+kms run carb for half the price as a spare. But the stock hasn't given up yet. Slide needle broke a couple of times. Diaphragm slide itself suffering from scoring a lot tend to get stuck a lot which was emory rubbed smooth and installed back to run quite a long and got changed to a new one eventually after it gathered a lot of play after frequent rubbing and its running fine still. But still on the stock carb which I doubt gets replaced a hat often.

These CV diaphragm carbs are prone to lot of problems and thus I prefer them after the old wire operated slide carbs. Check your diaphragm slide and give everything a closer look. Consult a good mechanic or a couple of more. They might come up with other results.

Coming to a carb change you can plonk lots of others without harming your engine depending on what you ask for. I have friends running n BS29 Mikuni even 33Ucal and other carbs too. I'm think to go down to VM26 carb for now.
Wow thank you so much for the info. I have less technical knowledge. The mech did check the diaphragm and said it might be the problem. Even they felt the same, the initial is good to 50-60 and when it reaches 65 it's dead. As of now, got the carb and air filter cleaned. more smoother riding now. Will test it soon. If again the problem persist, I might have to do what the mech says.

The other day faced a strange issue with the bike while out on highway, bike was smooth at below 60Kmph and above 80Kmph, but was kind of jerking around 75Kmph as if the fuel was getting over and the bike will come to a halt right in between the highway. To make matters worse I had done servicing just a day before the journey so was suprised at such problem...

Tru carburettor of pulsar 180 or apache 180 u will need mikuni bs29 carb. Ns carb is too big, and it's nothing to with air filter. Like jets works for petrol intake there are jets for air intake too in carb. Source the bs 29 carb, and do one thing at a time. Or i suggest you to put stock piston and cylinder of impulse. You can see many example here on xbhp which failed at the end.

Yep. Given his current situation its not worth spending another penny on this machine, forget K&N filter, which eventually will f@ck the engine more than ever. Just wanted to help him save some more agony.

    Regards.
